Much, if not all, that we have seen in the practice of being slain in the spirit is contrived through manipulation; which is a form of witchcraft. Some of it may even be occultic in nature. Other times it is a result of peer pressure in desiring to look spiritual.
If after watching this, you want to debate this, please do not bother. Unless you can come up with Biblical proof that this video has overlooked; which I doubt very much you do, please don’t just argue for the sake of arguing.
After seeing this and coming to the full truth, you still want to cling to this belief, please ask yourself why.

That was a very good video. I’ve heard before that there is no biblical evidence of anyone being slain the way we see on TV or charismaniacs during their play time. And I’ve never been able to find a scripture myself. But, you know..try telling that to them and they’ll have their pat answer out and ready…God can make annyyyythinnnng happen…(and so he chooses to knock me to the floor cuz he loves me so!)…right. We defend what we love the MOST, don’t we?

mkayla, I’ve tried telling a lot of people, but they still cling to that lie. I guess they just like being manipulated by man or worse — demons in some cases!

Hey Hippie,
I share your disgust over the fakery and the demonic.
There are 3 instances in the NT , that i know of, where people fell to the ground due to the power or glory of God.
And one or two in the OT.

Ian, I’m more than glad to listen to the scriptural instances you mention. would you tell them to us?

I put this on my blog too. In honor (gag) of the “revival” going on between IHOP and Bethel, etc. I thought it would be good to remind people slain (and the other manifestations) are not found in the bible.
Thanks!

My observation: The biblical incidents of falling under the power of God were exceptions rather than the rule, and those few incidents that ARE recorded, all fell ON THEIR FACES (with no catchers).
This ‘slain’ stuff bears no resemblance whatsoever to God’s manifest power. Rather it has become an attention seeking experience that is at best the work of the flesh and at worst the work of demons.
If churches sent people into a private setting for prayer this nonsense would cease without an ‘audience’.
It works, we tried it!

Signet, I have to agree with you on all accounts unless someone can show me differently through the Word.

RH you will have a long wait
David Pawson, as sound a teacher as there is, states the following in his book, ‘Is the blessing Biblical’? Thinking through the Toronto Phenomenon. Hodder & Stoughton ISBN 0-340-66147-X
“For example, QUOTE: the claim that people falling to the floor are being ‘slain in the Spirit’, is, says Pawson, “a ghastly description which should only be used in such cases as that of Ananias and Sapphira” (Acts 5:1-11)” (p.25)
I know David Pawson is a mere man, but this book looks at everything according to scripture, and for anyone who genuinely wants biblical truth on this and similar manifestations, would do well to acquire this book, to be read alongside the bible. It is a real eye opener with honesty and balance.

“There are 3 instances in the NT , that i know of, where people fell to the ground due to the power or glory of God.
And one or two in the OT.”
If anyone’s interested they can look them up.
The two positive occurances were with Paul and John.
(btw, it’s myth that Paul fell from his horse. A horse isn’t mentioned. In fact his whole party travelling with him fell to the ground)
It’s wrong, then, to categorically declare that God could not or would not ever do the same thing again. It would be an extra-Biblical revelation.
Bless ya sister.

Thanks Signet, I may have to check the book out.

Ian, if you have time, will you tell me where the instances are that you are referring to? I’m not out to discredit you brother — I want to know the truth one way or another. Thanks

You have absolutely never been touched by Jesus the baptizer of the Holy Spirit ,for me it was Oct.10 2004,I was flooded with the peace that only Jesus gives ,the word says the world does not know that peace, when i fell to the floor it was like total silence ,i could hear every beat of my heart and there was something happening inside of me an awakening of my soul ,YOU can say what you will but you have no idea what a touch from God is,I pray that YOU may experience this blessing,in Jesus name

steve, what part of the Biblical truth did you hate in the above video? Yes, that is right — I said “hate.” It is hate to not love the truth. Instead, you desire to live a delusion. You act like you got all kinds of peace from your experience, but let someone challenge you on it and you lose your peace. Is your experience greater than the Word of God?
I really don’t care if you fell on the floor a hundred times and flopped around like some kind of fish out of water. I’ve been there and done all that charismatic stuff. If the Word of God tells me it is occult, then why should I care about your experience? One of us is wrong, no doubt. If it be me, I know the Lord will show me as I am searching the truth with a sincere heart and I do not get all bent out of shape if someone should test me in an area — but you, you take offense and have the audacity to judge me (someone who you don’t even know) that I have never been touched by Jesus. Oh, you speak out of the ignorance, pride and self-righteousness of your heart. But more so, you hold to your experiences over the Word of God. Your experiences mean nothing to me if they do not line up with the Word of God. If you continue to base your faith on experiences you will be led astray to greater delusions. Remember those words — for greater delusions come.
