Israel, Hang on to Jerusalem!

JERUSALEM – Israel’s leader on Sunday dismissed a call from a key government partner to share the holy city of Jerusalem with the Palestinians, a reminder of the obstacles facing already troubled peacemaking efforts.

Conflicting claims to east Jerusalem lie at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The dispute over the area, home to sensitive Jewish, Muslim and Christian holy sites, has derailed past peace talks and spilled into violence. Palestinians claim the sector as the capital of their future state.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reaffirmation of his intention to hold on to east Jerusalem drew criticism from the Palestinians and was likely to increase friction with the Americans. The White House Mideast envoy is scheduled to arrive this week in another attempt to push peace efforts forward.

Netanyahu’s defense minister, Ehud Barak of the centrist Labor Party, called for sharing Jerusalem with the Palestinians. But a government official said Barak’s idea does not reflect the government’s view.

The Palestinians want to establish their future state in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, lands Israel captured in the 1967 Middle East war. Israel later annexed east Jerusalem in a move that is not recognized by the international community.

Israel’s internal diplomatic flare-up came just days after the U.S. dropped its effort to persuade Israel to reinstate a moratorium on new building states in the West Bank as a way of restarting peace talks.

Instead, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said indirect talks would resume, while insisting that the two sides must now deal with core issues. Those include the status of Jerusalem, as well as borders, settlements and refugees.

Palestinians blasted Israel’s rejection of their claim to east Jerusalem.

“Mr. Netanyahu is distancing himself not from Barak, he is distancing himself from international consensus, he’s distancing himself from international resolutions and distancing himself from international law,” said Palestinian spokesman Husam Zomlot. “And most importantly, he’s distancing himself from any possible negotiated settlement based on the two-state solution.”

Jordanian Foreign Minister Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Sunday urged the U.S. to come up with a new formula to push the process forward.

Interviewed on ABC-TV, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said the U.S. might have to express its own ideas.

“It may be unavoidable, actually, for the United States acting as a broker at some point to come in with bridging proposals so we make this happen,” he said.

Since Netanyahu came to power nearly two years ago, he has grudgingly accepted the principle of a Palestinian state next to Israel. He has carefully refrained from getting into specifics about the core issues, however, saying these must be negotiated.

Clinton expressed frustration with the Israeli-Palestinian impasse over the weekend, though she did not suggest a new way forward. She spoke at a forum in Washington.

Addressing the same gathering, Barak said the holy city will have to be shared as part of a future peace deal.

An Israeli official told The Associated Press that Barak was expressing a personal opinion, not the government’s position.

“Those remarks were not coordinated with the prime minister,” the official said. He spoke on condition of anonymity because Netanyahu has not responded publicly to Barak’s remarks or to Clinton’s speech.

Since Netanyahu came to power nearly two years ago, Israelis and Palestinians have not been close to tackling major issues. Netanyahu’s more moderate predecessor offered a Palestinian state with joint control of key Jerusalem holy sites among other features, but the Palestinians did not accept it.

In her speech Friday, Clinton urged both sides to lay out their positions on these core issues “without delay and with real specificity.” She pointedly called for compromise on the contested holy city, observing that “there will surely be no peace without an agreement” on Jerusalem — “the most sensitive of all the issues.”

The compromise called for will be demanding Israel give up their land. When they say, “peace, peace,” sudden destruction comes.

U.S.-led negotiations broke down after just three weeks and Israel refused to renew a 10-month moratorium on new settlement housing. Palestinians said they would not return to the talks unless there was a total freeze in West Bank and east Jerusalem construction. Israel countered that such a condition had never been made before, and the issue should be part of the negotiations.

Washington’s special envoy to the Mideast, George Mitchell, is expected to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders this week.

O Israel, trust in the LORD!

The Futility of Idols and the Trustworthiness of God

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy,
Because of Your truth.
Why should the Gentiles say,
“So where is their God?”

But our God is in heaven;
He does whatever He pleases.
Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of men’s hands.
They have mouths, but they do not speak;
Eyes they have, but they do not see;
They have ears, but they do not hear;
Noses they have, but they do not smell;
They have hands, but they do not handle;
Feet they have, but they do not walk;
Nor do they mutter through their throat.
Those who make them are like them;
So is everyone who trusts in them.

O Israel, trust in the LORD;
He is their help and their shield.
O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD;
He is their help and their shield.
You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD;
He is their help and their shield.

The LORD has been mindful of us;
He will bless us;
He will bless the house of Israel;
He will bless the house of Aaron.
He will bless those who fear the LORD,
Both small and great.

May the LORD give you increase more and more,
You and your children.
May you be blessed by the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’s;
But the earth He has given to the children of men.
The dead do not praise the LORD,
Nor any who go down into silence.
But we will bless the LORD
From this time forth and forevermore.

Praise the LORD! — Psalm 115 –

Discovery of Natural Gas in Israel is a World-class Game Changer

Leave a comment

http://www.greenprophet.com/2010/06/22/23026/natural-gas-israel-3/

The massive natural gas find in Israel and political tensions with Turkey, could put Turkey out of the energy story with Israel. It’s a big deal, says Washington based energy analyst Gal Luft.

A door has been closed. But amid the roar, the creak of an opening window was faintly audible. This window, a gigantic deposit of natural gas called Leviathan, 6.5 times the size of Tel Aviv, was found, roughly 100 nautical miles from where the flotilla fiasco took place and well within Israel’s extended territorial waters.

An old adage says that when God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window. To most people, the events off the coast of Gaza marked a sharp decline in Israel’s strategic posture. The Mavi Marmara incident sparked international condemnation and delivered what may have been a death blow to Jerusalem’s already precarious relations with Turkey. For decades that country was Israel’s closest ally in the Muslim world, but since the election of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, it is increasingly in the thrall of fundamentalist Islam.

This discovery may provide Israel with security in terms of its supply of electricity, turn it into an important natural gas exporter and provide a shot in the arm of some $300 billion over the life of the field – one-and-a-half times the national GDP – to the Israeli economy, already one of the most resilient in the world.

More importantly, this discovery is nothing short of a geopolitical game changer. To understand its magnitude, consider this: The world’s biggest gas discovery in 2009, 238 billion cubic meters, was made by a US-Israel consortium at a site called Tamar, 60 miles off the coast of Haifa. The nearby Leviathan field is estimated to be twice that size.

Altogether the basin in the eastern Mediterranean to which those fields belong could contain an amount of gas equivalent to one-fifth of U.S. natural gas reserves. For a small country like Israel, such a bonanza could not have come at a better time.

Until recently, Israel was facing an energy predicament. Its fast-growing population – and the even faster-growing Palestinian Arab population to which it also supplies electricity – and the declining reserves of Egypt, its main gas supplier, required the identification of new sources of gas for electricity production.

One alternative was to import natural gas from Russia and the Caspian Sea via Turkey. To this end, Turkey and Israel negotiated the construction of a subsea pipeline. But with the deterioration of their relations, this option gradually became unfeasible. Another option was to import gas from Qatar, hardly a reliable supplier. Yet a third, more costly, possibility was construction of a liquefied natural gas terminal, which would enable imports from various suppliers.

The discoveries at Tamar and Leviathan solved the problem: Israel will no longer have to import natural gas. Its dilemma now, rather, is deciding where to export the excess and how to reap the most geopolitical gains from its new status as an energy exporter.

Geographically, the most natural market is Europe, where any non-Russian gas is more than welcome. There are three ways for Israel to access this market. The first is to construct a pipeline to Turkey, where Israeli gas would join product from the Caspian region en route to Central Europe. This option is highly unlikely to be realized in the current atmosphere of Israel-Turkey relations.

Alternately, and more likely, Israel could construct a pipeline to Greece via Cyprus or pipe it inland, liquefy it and export it to any European liquefied natural gas terminal by sea. Europe is not the only potential market in such a scenario. Once liquefied, Israeli gas could be directed to China, South Korea and Japan, which collectively consume more than half of the world’s LNG.

From a geopolitical standpoint, gas exports to India would be most beneficial to Israel. With hundreds of millions of its citizens facing energy poverty, India urgently needs reliable natural gas suppliers. One option for that country is to join the Iran-Pakistan pipeline – a project aimed at connecting Pakistan to Iran’s South Pars field by 2014. Should India decide to extend the pipeline, it will become beholden to Iranian gas for decades to come, to the detriment of Western efforts to weaken Iran economically.

Alternately, should India decide to construct LNG terminals along its coast, it will be able to import natural gas from Israel as well as other exporters, like Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The creation of an energy corridor from Israel to the Indian subcontinent would mean that Israel would have to retrofit the existing 150-mile oil pipeline linking the Red Sea port of Eilat with the Mediterranean port of Ashkelon. Once this pipeline commences operation, Russian and Caspian natural gas could reach the Asian markets as well.

Ironically, the biggest casualty of such an energy corridor will be none other than Turkey, which now enjoys an unchallenged status as an energy bridge between East and West. Energy transit fees are an important source of income to the Turkish economy.

In the coming years, Israel will have to decide whether to direct its gas to Asia or to compete with Turkey over access to the European gas market. Should it choose the latter, Turkish-Israeli relations will remain in rough seas.

11 American WARSHIPS with Israel Warships in Suez!

What does this mean and why are we not being told? While we are focused on the Gulf and the catastrophe that may be unfolding there, we have warships in the Suez. If this means war, then WHO are we going to war against?! This can’t be good.

We will hear of wars and rumors of wars but we must not let our hearts be troubled. A false savior will arise at some point out of this mess going on in the world. May we look to our Lord and Savior — Jesus Christ, the Only begotten son of God; the sacrificial Lamb who will come back and judge the nations and mankind!

Egypt allowed at least one Israeli and 11 American warships to pass through the Suez Canal as an Iranian flotilla approaches Gaza. Egypt closed the canal to protect the ships with thousands of soldiers, according to the British-based Arabic language newspaper Al Quds al-Arabi.

One day prior to the report on Saturday, Voice of Israel government radio reported that the Egyptian government denied an Israeli request not to allow the Iranian flotilla to use the Suez Canal to reach Gaza, in violation of the Israeli sea embargo on the Hamas-controlled area.

International agreements require Egypt to keep the Suez open even for warships, but the armada, led by the USS Truman with 5,000 sailors and marines, was the largest in years. Egypt closed the canal to fishing and other boats as the armada moved through the strategic passageway that connects the Red and Mediterranean Seas.

Despite Egypt’s reported refusal to block the canal to Iranian boats, the clearance for the American-Israeli fleet may be a warning to Iran it may face military opposition if the Iranian Red Crescent ship continues on course to Gaza.

The warships may exercise the right to inspect the Iranian boat for the illegal transport or weapons. Newsweek reported that Egyptian authorities could stop the ship for weeks, using technicalities such as requiring that any official documents be translated from Farsi into Arabic.

The magazine’s website also reported that the Iranian navy is the weakest part of its armed forces. Tehran has already backed down from announced intentions to escort the Iranian ships with “volunteer marines” from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

The Iranian news site Hamsayeh.net reported, “The move might be in connection to U.S. self-inflicted embargo against Iran aimed at inspecting Iran bound ships for suspected goods related to the country’s nuclear program.”

Another battle on the high seas may involve one, and possibly two, Lebanese vessels that are aimed at challenging Israel’s sovereignty over the Gaza coastal waters. Hizbullah, gearing up for a reaction to a possible clash between the Israeli Navy (pictured) and the Lebanese boats, has delayed rocket units near Lebanese ports, according to unofficial military sources.

Israel has warned U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that Israel will use force, if necessary, to stop the boats, one of which is carrying approximately 70 women passengers and crew organized by Hizbullah support Samar al-Hajj. Her husband is one of several jailed suspects involved in the assassination for former Lebanese anti-Syrian Prime Rafik Hariri.

Hizbullah has denied it is connected with the Lebanese flotilla, but it has been reported that Al Hajj met with Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah last month. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

Report: American and Israeli battleships cross Suez Canal

http://www.thejerusalemgiftshop.com/israelinews/conflict/rumours-of-war/733-report-american-and-israeli-battleships-cross-suez-canal.html

London-based al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper reported today that eleven American battleships and an Israeli one crossed the Suez Canal Friday en route to the Red Sea.

According to the report, Egyptian soldiers numbering in the thousands had been deployed along the Suez Canal to guard the ships’ passage, which included a U.S. aircraft carrier.

The report stated that ‘The Suez Canal Traffic had been disrupted for hours in the morning during the crossing of a giant U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, which includes soldiers, ships and infantry, armor and ammunition, coming from the Mediterranean Sea on its way to the Red Sea’.

Members of the opposition party in Egypt said they would not be silent while U.S. and Israeli forces are being allowed passage through Egyptian territorial waters.

Observers said the passage of warships included some of the largest seen in several years

The Suez Canal that connects the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea is owned and maintained by the Suez Canal Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Under international treaty, it may be used “in time of war as in time of peace, by every vessel of commerce or of war, without distinction of flag.”

There has been neither any confirmation or denial of the report by a U.S or Israeli official.

Psalm 2

The Messiah’s Triumph and Kingdom

Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,
“Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
“Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.”

“I will declare the decree:
The LORD has said to Me,
‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”

Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

Obama (an ANTI-CHRIST) to Back U.N. Investigation of Israel (6.11.10)

Leave a comment

We can see where this is going. Won’t it be interesting IF at some point, Obama fakes (yes, FAKES, because this man is an obvious ANTI-CHRIST!) a peace treaty with Israel?

OmniChristianVids2 — June 11, 2010 — Fox News is reporting that President will support a United Nations investigation of the Israel and its military raid on a ship carrying pro-Palestinian activists intent on breaking a blockade on the Gaza coast last week.

If there was any doubt as to whether or not Obama has officially turned his back on Israel, I think this settles it.

U.N. rebukes of Israel permitted in U.S. policy shift

This came from reuters, so your guess is as good as mine whether it is true or not.  But it probably is.

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6570SP20100608

Under President Barack Obama, the United States no longer provides Israel with automatic support at the United Nations where the Jewish state faces a constant barrage of criticism and condemnation.

The subtle but noticeable shift in the U.S. approach to its Middle East ally comes amid what some analysts describe as one of the most serious crises in U.S.-Israeli relations in years.

Under Obama, the United States seeks to reclaim its role as an impartial Middle East peace broker which critics say it lost during the previous administration of George W. Bush.

“Israel became used to unconditional support of the United States during eight years of the Bush administration,” said Marina Ottaway, director of the Middle East Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington.

She said Bush’s “extreme position” makes even mild criticism appear dramatic to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet.

However, Washington continues to block what it sees as efforts to use the United Nations as a forum for bashing Israel — which one U.S. official told Reuters was “nine out of 10 initiatives regarding Israel in New York.”

Obama has also pushed hard to get a fourth round of U.N. Security Council sanctions against Tehran over its nuclear program, which Israel sees as its top security threats. A vote on new Iran sanctions is expected this week.

“There have been slight changes (in U.S.-Israeli ties), but they’ve caused a disproportionate reaction on the part of Israel,” said Ottaway. “We haven’t seen any drastic changes.”

Last week the United States backed a Security Council statement on Israel’s commando raid on an aid flotilla that tried to break Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip. Nine people on one of the ships were killed in the action.

The statement regretted the loss of life and demanded a “prompt, impartial, credible and transparent investigation conforming to international standards.

Washington, U.N. diplomats and U.S. officials said, worked hard to dilute the text so the 15-nation council did not call for an independent investigation and to ensure it did not explicitly criticize Israel.

UNITED NATIONS “LYNCH MOB”?

Israel was still unhappy with the statement and its supporters accused Obama of abandoning the Jewish state.

In an article called “Joining the jackals,” Elliott Abrams, who advised two Republican administrations and is now at the Council on Foreign Relations, accused Obama of exposing Israel to a virtual U.N. “lynch mob.”

“The White House did not wish to stand with Israel against this mob because it does not have a policy of solidarity with Israel,” Abrams said. “Rather, its policy is one of distancing and pressure.”

Abrams also criticized the White House over the recent five-year review conference of signatories to the 1970 nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) that Israel, like nuclear-armed Pakistan and India, has never signed.

Washington backed a call for a 2012 meeting of all countries in the Middle East to discuss making the region a zone free of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction — a plan originally proposed by Egypt with Arab backing to add pressure on Israel to give up its nuclear weapons.

After allowing it to pass, the U.S. delegation criticized the NPT final declaration for “singling out” Israel, which neither confirms nor denies having atomic weapons.

This statement did not satisfy commentators like Abrams, who said Obama had “abandoned Israel in the U.N. and in the NPT conference in the course of one week.”

Some analysts say Washington wants to improve ties with Arab nations and regain lost status as a neutral peace arbiter while being careful not to alienate pro-Israel voters.

“During the George W. Bush years, Washington’s automatic siding with Israel on any issue seriously eroded what had been America’s long-standing posture as an honest broker in the Middle East,” said Mark Fitzpatrick of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London.

“Obama has been trying to reclaim that status, while keeping in mind the domestic political need of not being seen as anti-Israel,” he said.

Outside the United Nations, analysts say Obama tried to ease strains with Netanyahu after tensions spiked earlier this year over Jewish settlement construction on occupied Palestinian land.

He coaxed Israel into indirect talks with the Palestinians, his biggest tangible achievement in Middle East diplomacy.

But an Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the jury is still out on the Obama administration’s approach to the Jewish state.

“It’s still difficult to decipher the intentions behind the changing U.S. policy at the United Nations, and not just in regard to the Middle East,” the official said.

“If the Americans are convinced that, through adopting a softer approach … they will achieve support from countries that heretofore opposed their policy — they will discover that they are wrong,” the official added.

AMAZING ISRAEL PROPHECY – Are We Entering “The Time Of The END?”

Church just think of all those before us, who wanted to live to see this day! Is it truly upon us!?

The Destruction of Jerusalem

Yeshus Jesus said concerning the last days: “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Redeemedhippie:[Have we reached that point in history?!]

The Coming of the Son of Man

“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. THEN they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” — LUKE 21: 20-28 –

MUST SEE! The Miracle of Israel

2 Comments

The title of the video is: Astounding! ISRAEL IN THE NEWS! – Is The “Gog and Magog” Prophecy Upon Us?

Yet, I found it more accurate to call it, “The Miracle of Israel.” For the nations do not make war against a mere nation. They make war against God Himself. God WILL confound the enemies of Israel. God WILL help them in time of need. God WILL defend Israel!

Bride of Christ, be watchful, our redemption draws near! Come quickly Lord Jesus! Reveal Yourself to your chosen, both gentile and Jew, that you should receive honor and glory among the nations! For there is none like you, oh Lord!

Do not keep silent, O God!
Do not hold Your peace,
And do not be still, O God!
For behold, Your enemies make a tumult;
And those who hate You have lifted up their head.
They have taken crafty counsel against Your people,
And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation,
That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

For they have consulted together with one consent;
They form a confederacy against You:
The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
Moab and the Hagrites;
Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Assyria also has joined with them;
They have helped the children of Lot. Selah — PSALM 83: 1-8 –

White House linked to flotilla organizers!

Is it any surprise, really?! What can you expect when a communist who from the moment he stunk up the whitehouse by his mere presence, has done nothing but betray this nation and our people!

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=162377

Israel official ties president’s adviser to controversial ‘Free Gaza Movement’

A top adviser to President Obama is the contact person within the White House for communications with the Free Gaza Movement over plans to challenge Israel’s blockade of the terrorist Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, according to a reputable source close to the  Netanyahu government.

Redeemedhippie:[I don't know about anyone else and I really do not care, but I believe Netanyahu over the whitehouse. You have one leader who could care less about his country and the people in it, by allowing illegals to come in and take control of it in Arizona, then there is another leader who actually has some real guts in believing he is to protect his people. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know which is the better man to his nation!]

The source, a career official whose reliability was established through his tips for the book, “Why Israel Can’t Wait,” identified John O. Brennan, deputy national security adviser for homeland security and counterterrorism, as the contact.

The allegation raises the bizarre possibility that the Free Gaza Movement’s flotilla action in the Mediterranean was being coordinated with the White House, something that would align with a shift in U.S. policy toward Israel being debated within the Obama administration.

Redeemedhippie:[Obama traitor, not only to the American people, but to a nation that has been a friend.]

Mike Hammer, a National Security Council spokesman, told WND flatly the report “is not true.”

His response was followed quickly by another denial, when WND asked if Hammer also rejected the claim Brennan was a key force within the White House pushing for a change in U.S. policy toward Israel in demanding an end to the blockade, as the WND source reported.

“John Brennan is quite busy in his job as the president’s counterterrorism and homeland security adviser, relentlessly working to keep the country safe,” Hammer said in a e-mail to WND. “The administration has others who are responsible for our Middle East policy. So, again, not true.”

However, Brennan’s activities in his “counterterrorism” work have involved him in situations with domestic groups known to have ties to Middle East terrorism.

WND previously has reported that Brennan participated in a meeting with Muslim law students, facilitated by the Islamic Society of North America, a group that was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a case where the founders of the Holy Land Foundation of Texas were given life sentences “for funneling $12 million” to Hamas, the group currently in political control of Gaza.

WND further reported that at a meeting with Muslim law students at New York University, Brennan declared himself a “citizen of the world” who believed the United States government should never engage in “profiling” in pursuit of national security.

RedeemedHippie:[I am sooooo glad I am not a citizen of this world, that I am just a pilgrim passing through this man made hell!]

The New York Times reported this week that the Obama administration’s policy toward Israel was changing in a re-evaluation that now considers Israel’s blockade of Gaza to be untenable. But Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu insisted in a special press conference in his office Thursday that “Israel will not apologize for defending itself,” which strongly suggested Israel fully intends to continue its blockade.

Brennan tilts toward Islam

In a speech delivered Aug. 9, 2009, to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and archived on the White House website, Brennan commented that using “a legitimate term, ‘jihad,’ meaning to purify oneself or to wage a holy struggle for a moral goal” to describe terrorists “risks reinforcing the idea that the United States is somehow at war with Islam itself.”

In reporting on Brennan’s speech to the CSIS, WND noted his specific advice regarding the Middle East, namely, that U.S. foreign policy should encourage greater assimilation of the Hezbollah terrorist organization into the Lebanese government.

WND noted that in a July 2008 article in The Annals, a publication of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, Brennan argued it “would not be foolhardy, however, for the United States to tolerate, and even to encourage, greater assimilation of Hezbollah into Lebanon’s political system, a process that is subject to Iranian influence.”

Continued Brennan: “Hezbollah is already represented in the Lebanese parliament and its members have previously served in the Lebanese cabinet, reflections of Hezbollah’s interest in shaping Lebanon’s political future from within government institutions. This involvement is a far cry from Hezbollah’s genesis as solely a terrorist organization dedicated to murder, kidnapping and violence.”

At the August 2009 press conference for the CSIS, Brennan declared, “Hezbollah started out as purely a terrorist organization back in the early ’80s and has evolved significantly over time. And now it has members of parliament, in the cabinet; there are lawyers, doctors, others who are part of the Hezbollah organization.”

Middle Eastern terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah frequently maintain civilian units of doctors and lawyers so as to emphasize their outreach with local politicians and increase their political acceptance in the international arena.

Conceivably, the Istanbul-based Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief, better known by the Turkish acronym IHH, would fit Brennan’s definition of the charitable side of organizations such as Hezbollah, despite IHH’s ties to al-Qaida that have been documented by experts such as former investigating judge Jean-Louis Bruguiere, who led the French judiciary’s counter-terrorism unit for nearly two decades before retiring in 2007.

The IHH, in fact, is not included on the U.S. State Department’s current list of 45 groups designated as foreign terrorist organizations. Both Hezbollah and Hamas are listed.

In his speech to the New York University law school students posted on YouTube by the White House, Brennan included a lengthy statement in Arabic that he did not translate for his English-speaking audience.

Noting that he spent time spent as an undergraduate with the American University in Cairo during the 1970s, Brennan proceeded to use only the Arabic name “Al Quds” when referring to Jerusalem, commenting that during his 25 years in government he spent considerable time in the Middle East, as a political officer with the State Department and as a CIA station chief in Saudi Arabia.

“In Saudi Arabia, I saw how our Saudi partners fulfilled their duty as custodians of the two holy mosques in Mecca and Medina,” he said. “I marveled at the majesty of the hajj and the devotion of those who fulfilled their duty as Muslims of making that pilgrimage.”

Obama’s Chicago radical pals at center of Free Gaza Movement

WND previously reported that Weather Underground terrorists William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of the radical activist organization Code Pink, were top supporters of the Free Gaza Movement, a coalition of leftist U.S. activists and pro-Palestinian groups that organized the six-ship flotilla that attempted to run the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

Obama began his political career in Chicago at a 1995 fundraiser held in the Chicago apartment of Ayers and Dohrn, held to introduce Obama as the candidate hand-picked to run for the Illinois Senate seat held by admitted communist Alice Palmer when she decided to step aside to run that year for the U.S. House of Representatives.

In January, WND reported that Ayers, Dohrn and Evans were involved in provoking chaos on the streets of Egypt in an attempt to enter Hamas-controlled Gaza with the Free Gaza Movement to join in solidarity with Gaza’s population and leadership.

Choose this day whom and what you believe. For one is truth and the other is a lie. THIS IS THE TRUTH!

If you can’t face it and have something to say, say it somewhere else. Not here. I got no use for liars and deceivers.

STAND, ISRAEL! STAND!
