Rick Warren’s Son Has Committed Suicide

It is sad when any parent loses a child. It is more grievous when one takes their own life into their hands and decides to end it their way. I can not imagine what it must be like to be the loved one of anyone who would do such a thing. Even more sad when it is someone who confesses Christ. I am not being unkind when I say, surely, there are ways that the Church need to prepare for such things, instead of handing people over to mental health facilities? Some people do not like to hear this, but I say it anyway: The day is coming when everyone who confesses Christ will come to a point where they will have to learn to trust in Him and Him alone in everything.

We do not know what kind of youth groups this young man was in — if any. If he were, what kind and who and what was it based on?

Where were the seasoned senior Christians and what were they doing?

“Mental illness” involves torment, does it not?  Jesus came to set us all free from torment. We need to be ready for the thousands who have been in false churches, those who have been in cults, those who have been deceived and manipulated. We need to be ready to know how to reach the captives with the truth that sets free.

Lord, help Your children to be more discerning, walking in the power of your Holy Spirit.

We can do nothing without You, Lord. Nothing.

This is all I can say for now.

Pastor Rick and Kay Warren’s youngest son, Matthew, has committed suicide, Saddleback Valley Community Church announced Saturday.

The evangelical megachurch announced the death of the 27-year-old in a statement. He died Friday night.

Described as “an incredibly kind, gentle and compassionate young man whose sweet spirit was encouragement and comfort to many,” the statement said Matthew suffered from mental illness that resulted in deep depression and suicidal thoughts.

“Despite the best healthcare available, this was an illness that was never fully controlled and the emotional pain resulted in his decision to take his life,” the statement said. “We ask everyone to join us in praying for the entire Warren family and that God’s comfort and peace will be with them as they deal with this difficult situation.”

Founded in 1980 by Pastor Rick Warren, Saddleback Church serves the Southern California community with several locations, including one in Lake Forest.

Warren is also known for authoring, “The Purpose Driven Life,” which has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, according to the church’s website.

Rick Warren Welcomes the First Ever Jesuit Pope, But Does He Know the Jesuit Agenda?

http://www.spiritual-research-network.com/SRN_blog/2013/3/Rick-Warren-Welcomes-the-First-Ever-Jesuit-Pope-But-Does-He-Know-the-Jesuit-Agenda-

Today, March 13, 2013, the first ever Jesuit pope was elected. A Jesuit pope? Yes!

Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Cardinal Bergoglio is now to be recognized as Pope Francis, the 265th pope of the Roman Catholic Church. Official Vatican sources say he is the 265th pope. Others you may see may refer to him as the 266th successor of St. Peter.

So now we have a “Jesuit” Bishop of Rome who will be touted as the “Jesuit” Vicar of Jesus Christ and the “Jesuit” successor of Peter. He will be recognized worldwide as the “Jesuit” Prince of the Apostles and the “Jesuit” Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church. Those in Europe will see him as the “Jesuit” Primate of Italy and the “Jesuit” Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province. For those who are more “servant” minded, he will be seen as the “Jesuit” Servant of the Servants of God. Finally, he will be hailed as the “Jesuit” Sovereign in the State of the Vatican City. Rome will bow down to yet another “Pope,” only this time he is fully Jesuit (“God’s Marine’s”) as a member of The Society of Jesus.

According to the newly updated entry on Wikipedia for Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Pope “Francis is the first Jesuit pope, the first from outside of Europe in more than a millennium, the first from the Americas, and the first from the Southern Hemisphere.”

“Pope Francis[1] (Latin: Franciscus, Spanish: Francisco; born Jorge Mario Bergoglio on 17 December 1936) is the 265th[2] and current pope of the Catholic Church, elected on 13 March 2013.[3] In that role he is both the leader of the Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City State. Francis is the first Jesuit pope, the first from outside of Europe in more than a millennium, the first from the Americas, and the first from the Southern Hemisphere.”

From 1998 until his election as pope, he served as the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, and was created cardinal in 2001.

Another entry on Wikipedia that was changed immediately upon the Cardinal being elected as Pope can be found under the Wikipedia entry for “Jesuit.” The text added today, near the bottom of the Wikipedia article states:

“Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina was elected pope on March 13, 2013 and is the first Jesuit pope.”

Rick Warren “Welcome’s” Pope Francis, the First Ever Jesuit Pope

Something else of interest is the fact the Rick Warren, who professes to be an Evangelical with the Southern Baptist Convention, enthusiastically welcomed the new Jesuit Pope through Twitter.

The following are Rick Warren’s very own words and also a screenshot of his Twitter entry:

Welcome Pope Francis, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio,
#HebemusPapum You have our prayers.
7:30PM – 13 Mar 13
Now this is rather interesting, an evangelical minister welcoming a Jesuit Pope? And how about Rick Warren’s influence on Twitter. His own warm “Welcome” of this Jesuit pope has already been re-Tweeted 659 times and it has been “favorited” 184 times. This is influence, and this is positive advertising for the Jesuit agenda and the false gospel of Roman Catholicism.
Here is the same Tweet on Rick Warren’s very own personal Twitter account.

These are interesting things indeed! Why is Rick Warren so enthusiastically “Welcom[ing]” the new Pope Francis into office, and at that, the first ever “Jesuit” pope?

It’s Time to Wake Up and Clearly Understand the Jesuit Agenda

If one understands the historical background of the Jesuit priesthood it makes no sense at all why a man who claims to be an evangelical Christian would have anything at all to do with positively “welcoming” a Jesuit into office. Historically, the Jesuit agenda stands against everything that biblical Protestantism is for. The Jesuit are notorious for undoing biblical Christianity.

In a special report entitled ‘The Jesuit Agenda and the Evangelical/Protestant Church’ by Lighthouse Trails and Understand the Times, the authors elaborate very clearly on the following topics listed here. In doing so, they explain why the Jesuits and their agenda are so dangerous. Here is the list of topics in this recommended article.

- Who are the Jesuits? – Who Was Ignatius Loyola? – The Jesuit Oath – The Jesuit Agenda Today – Jesuit (Mystical) Spirituality and the Protestant/Evangelical Church – The Counter Reformation Continues – Where Else in Evangelicalism is the Jesuit Evangelism Showing Up? – The Fatima Plan

The following is a brief excerpt from the article ‘The Jesuit Agenda and the Evangelical/Protestant Church’:

The Jesuit Oath
It is said that the ancient Jesuits took the Jesuit Oath. This has been refuted by Catholic sources as a true oath taken by Jesuits of the past; nevertheless, there is evidence enough that the oath did exist to include excerpts of it in this report. We have taken these excerpts from a book titled Political and Economic Handbook by Thomas Edward Watson published in 1916, and found in the Harvard College library.

I do declare from my heart, without mental reservation, that the Pope is Christ’s Vicar General and . . .  He hath power to depose Heretical Kings, Princes, States  . . .  that they may safely be destroyed. Therefore, to the utmost of my power I will defend this doctrine. . . . I do further declare the doctrine of the Church of England, of the Calvanists [sic], the Huguenots, and other Protestants to be damnable and those to be damned who will not forsake the same.
I do further declare that I will help, assist, and advise all or any of His Holiness agents in any place wherever I shall be; and to do my utmost to extirpate [exterminate] the heretical Protestant doctrine, and to destroy all their pretended power. (p. 437)

In another version of the Jesuit Oath, the Jesuit is asked to promise that he will make “relentless war” against “all heretics, Protestants” and to “hang, burn, waste, boil, flay, strangle, and bury alive these infamous heretics” (found in U.S. House Congressional Record, 1913, p. 3216).
The Jesuit Agenda Today:
While we are not saying that Jesuits today are murdering Protestants if they don’t convert to Catholicism, we are saying that the determination and efforts to convert Protestants back to the Mother Church still exist. Basically, while the methods may have changed, the plan and objectives have not. The following quote from an article titled “Essay on Popery” by Rev. Ingram Cobbin M.A. (taken from one edition of Foxe’s Book of Martyrs) is insightful:

The Jesuits, though at times expelled or pretendedly so from Rome, have been its awful emissaries to augment its power.  The intrigues and deceptions of these men would fill volumes, and the conveniency of their creed to deny or affirm anything, or assume any profession as it may serve their purpose, is too well known to need recapitulating here.  These men have at times assumed so much that every papal state has alternately ejected them; and large numbers are now in this country—doubtless many under false colours —waiting the most favourable opportunities to corrupt the rising generation, and, as much as possible, restore the dark days of former ages.  The Jesuits are unchangeable.

The Jesuits were driven in the past to bring back the lost brethren, and they are driven today with the same vision. Today, that vision is part of the pope’s Eucharistic Evangelization, drawing people to the Eucharistic Christ. The Eucharistic Evangelization is discussed at length in Another Jesus: The Evangelization of the Eucharistic Christ and in several articles on the Understand the Times website.

At the end of this article that thoroughly exposes the “Jesuit Agenda,” the author’s state some very interesting facts:

Rick Warren and Bill Hybels – protégés of Peter Drucker, by the way – have advanced the Jesuit Agenda by leaps and bounds. Many of these “new” Christianity, new reformation leaders have ignored the prophetic warnings of Jesus Christ’s soon return based on the signs we see from Bible prophecy. Instead, they promote the establishment of the kingdom of God with all the world’s religions.
The emerging church movement, which has been widely propagated by Warren, Hybels, and a host of other Christian figures, has been used by Satan to quickly bring about this worldwide deception by introducing mystical experiences and the social gospel to an entire generation of young people. Sensual experiences that tickle the flesh of the postmodern generation are often the same ones that Rome has used in the past to convince the faithful that they have encountered the God of the Bible. History reveals that history is repeating, and the same tools of delusion are being used over and over.

Those who shine the light on the Jesuit Agenda are considered to be conspiratorial crackpots. The prophets of the past when they exposed the Babylonian worship by the leaders of Israel were also deemed to be crazy, as have been Bible-believing Christians since Christianity began. One of those was John Huss  (1372-1415). John Foxe describes what happened:

[Huss] compiled a treatise in which he maintained that reading the books of Protestants could not be absolutely forbidden. He wrote in defense of Wickliffe’s book on the Trinity; and boldly declared against the vices of the pope, the cardinals, and clergy of those corrupt times. He wrote also many other books, all of which were penned with a strength of argument that greatly facilitated the spreading of his doctrines. . . . (13)

Rick Warren’s Extra-Ecumenical Impressions versus John Foxes The Acts and Monuments of the Christian Church

At the end of the day one simply has to wonder if Rick Warren has any understanding at all what the Jesuit agenda is all about? Does he understand their “vows” and what goes on behind closed doors in the Jesuit priesthood? Does he know that when he writes things like “Welcome Pope Francis, Cardinal Mario Bergoglio…You have our prayers” people that know the Jesuit agenda have to seriously think twice about the validity of Rick Warren’s “Christianity”? Does he know that he is giving an extra-ecumenical impression that he himself is pro Pope Francis and the Roman Catholic Church?

Many people who are familiar with Rick Warren’s chameleon-like theological shiftings, his numerous false teachings and his unbiblical global P.E.A.C.E Plan are thinking more and more that Rick Warren may full-well know exactly what the Jesuit agenda is. Perhaps his severe mishandlings of Scripture and his long-time rejection of bibliclal reproof will one day reveal that he is more more of a pawn in the grand Jesuit chess game than we all realized. Time will reveal more and more what the Jesuits are doing.

Foxes Book of Christian Martyrs is an abridged version of John Foxes The Acts and Monuments of the Christian Church. In Foxes Acts and Monuments, much more is revealed about the Jesuit plan to destroy Protestant Christianity and its faithful preachers of the Word of God. Every Christian should read these works slowly and prayerfully, along with their Bible. If they did, there would be a lot less fake Christianity around and a lot more serious commitment to the biblicla Gospel and exposing the lies of the Satan.

Rick Warren’s Tweet of “Welcome Pope Francis, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio” is a red-letter day for Jesuit Pope Francis, for all the Jesuit priests across the globe and for the deeply sinister age-old Jesuit agenda itself.

What lies in store for global apostate Christendom, this year and in the coming years, will be very telling indeed. As the ever-growing ecumenical Rick Warren agenda coalesces more and more with the global false gospel Roman Catholicism mysticism, the Jesuits are finally seeing the agenda fold out into full bloom.

Purpose Driven Resisters – Must Leave or Die

Article below sent to me by a friend. It appears to have been written in 2006.

http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/resistersdieorleave.htm

Those who oppose the “program” are called leaders from hell.

I will interject something here: The leaders from hell, are men like Rick Warren who is pushing this New Age gospel and jesus.

The phone calls and emails started coming in about three years ago. Sometimes the caller was in his mid-eighties, sometimes the caller was crying. But all of them had the same kind of story to tell – when their churches decided to get involved with 40 Days of Purpose, everything began changing and when they questioned these changes, they each soon found themselves silenced, ostracized and eventually without a church to attend. Now today, nearly five years after Purpose Driven Life was released, thousands of believers are scattered throughout the world, having been ridiculed and demoralized for even just the slightest questioning of the Purpose Driven program. In one email we received, the young man was handed a letter from his pastor. The letter had been written by a Saddleback field representative who told the pastor to do what he had to do to get rid of those opposing the new program.

According to Rick Warren, these people are resisters and are standing in the way of Purpose Driven progress. In a June 14th article written by Rick Warren on his website (What Do You Do When Your Church Hits a Plateau? ), Warren told pastors and church leaders not to be discouraged about slow change in their churches. He told them it would take time … and in many cases it would take these resisters either leaving the church or simply dying. Warren stated:

“If your church has been plateaued for six months, it might take six months to get it going again. If it’s been plateaued a year, it might take a year. If it’s been plateaued for 20 years, you’ve got to set in for the duration! I’m saying some people are going to have to die or leave.

Moses had to wander around the desert for 40 years while God killed off a million people before he let them go into the Promised Land. That may be brutally blunt, but it’s true. There may be people in your church who love God sincerely, but who will never, ever change.”

For Warren to couple his statement about dying or leaving with a statement about God killing off a million people is ignorant at best, subliminal at least. Coupled with his mention of 40 years in the desert and Warren’s teaching that God always did good things in numbers of 40, Warren’s intention in this statement seems obvious. In addition, the concept of get with the program, change or die is very common in New Age circles, that those who don’t get on board (or ride the wave as Leonard Sweet puts it), will have to die. Listen to the words of renown New Ager Barbara Marx Hubbard:

“Christ-consciousness and Christ-abilities are the natural inheritance of every human being on Earth. When the word of this hope has reached the nations, the end of this phase of evolution shall come. All will know their choice. All will be required to choose…. All who choose not to evolve will die off.” (See The Plan)

Furthermore, Leonard Sweet, in his book, Soul Tsunami, says that:

“A sea change of transitions and transformations is birthing a whole new world and a whole new set of ways of making our way in the world…. It is time for a Postmodern Reformation … Reinvent yourself for the 21st century or die. Some would rather die than change.” (pp. 17, 75).

Perhaps like those who willingly went to the flames rather than to denounce the truth? Those whom the world is not worthy of.

Rick Warren (whose endorsement sits on both the front and back covers of Sweet’s book) says that Soul Tsunami “shows us why these are the greatest days for evangelism since the first century.” In an audio set done by Rick Warren and Leonard Sweet called Tides of Change, the two men elaborate on this and make it clear that those who don’t ride this new wave will not make it.

One of the tools Rick Warren uses to help churches become Purpose Driven is a book called Transitioning: Leading Your Church Through Change. The book is sold on Rick Warren’s website and is written by Dan Southerland. According to pastors.com (Rick Warren’s website to pastors), Southerland is the director of “Church Transitions Inc., an organization that trains pastors and church leaders to effectively manage major transitions. Southerland … is the leading expert on implementing the Purpose Driven paradigm in existing churches.”

Chapter six of Transitioning is called “Dealing with Opposition” and is just one of many ways Rick Warren tries to convey the fact that those who oppose him are less than desirable. Southerland states:

“We have experienced two major sources of criticism during our transitions. The first is Christians from more traditional backgrounds…. Not all of our traditional backgrounded Christians have been critical – just the ornery ones. Our second source of criticism is traditional church pastors. Again, not all traditional church pastors – just the meaner ones.” (p. 116).

I have to say, I guess I’m one of those ornery ones. Because I will NEVER back down from these apostates.

Southerland tells readers that “some folks are going to get very angry.” He goes so far as to liken opposers of Purpose Driven to “leader[s] from hell.” He says:

“If you have read Nehemiah recently, you will remember that Sanballat is Nehemiah’s greatest critic and number one enemy. Let me put it plainer than that. Sanballat is a leader from hell. We all have some Sanballats in our churches. This is the guy who opposes whatever you propose…. You cannot call this guy a leader from hell to his face – but you could call him Sanballat.” (p. 115).

In 2003, during Saddleback’s 25th anniversary, Rick Warren recited, along with 30,000 participants, the Purpose Driven Covenant. In that covenant he stated that he would do “whatever it takes” to accomplish his goals. For us at Lighthouse Trails it has become increasingly evident that he wasn’t kidding when he said that. Last year, as some of you may remember, we issued a press release that showed the connection between Rick Warren and Ken Blanchard. In Warren’s own words, he acknowledged that Blanchard, a New Age sympathizer, had “signed on” to help implement Warren’s global P.E.A.C.E. plan. Warren stated this at a Saddleback service as well as at the 2003 Lead Like Jesus conference in Alabama. However, a month after we issued the press release, Lighthouse Trails received an email from Rick Warren. The email was sent in the middle of the night, and by the following morning, Warren had given permission to a colleague to post his email online. We contacted Saddleback and confirmed this. Needless to say, countless people found out about this email. However, what most who read his email did not realize was that the majority of the statements in his email were not true. We posted a public response but knew that most people would either only read Warren’s email to us or refuse to believe that America’s pastor was lying and we were speaking the truth.

Lighthouse Trails learned of Rick Warren’s connection to Ken Blanchard through a book called A Life With Purpose, written by Hollywood biographer, George Mair. Ray Yungen discusses this in his book, A Time of Departing:

In the spring of 2005, someone handed me a book called A Life with Purpose by George Mair. The book is written as a positive account of Rick Warren’s life. In fact, the subtitle on the front cover reads: America’s Most Inspiring Pastor. It is clear that the author had a great admiration for Warren. While Mair wrote the book, he spent many Sunday mornings at Saddleback church services, listening to Rick Warren and donating financially. However, after Rick Warren found out about the book, he publicly criticized it. In addition, Saddleback church sent out emails to an undisclosed number of people, discrediting Mair’s book.

I personally believe Warren’s effort to debunk the book was an attempt to conceal some of its observations. What George Mair didn’t realize was that in his candid account of Warren, and in his efforts to offer this testament of praise, some things were revealed about the pastor that might have gone undetected by the average person. For instance, Mair explains how New Age prophet Norman Vincent Peale was at the foundation of the church-growth movement and furthermore “many of Peale’s uplifting affirmations originated with an ‘obscure teacher of occult science’ named Florence Scovel Shinn.” Referring to many of the methods that Peale taught and his “unification of psychology and religion,” Mair says, “Saddleback distinctly bears the stamp of Reverend Norman Vincent Peale.”

In November of 2003, Rick Warren announced to his Saddleback congregation his global P.E.A.C.E. Plan. In the same sermon, Warren introduced the congregation to Ken Blanchard, playing a video clip of Blanchard’s visit to Saddleback a few days earlier. Warren informed his large congregation that Blanchard had:”… signed on to help with the P.E.A.C.E. Plan, and he’s going to be helping train us in leadership and in how to train others to be leaders all around the world.”

In light of the fact that Ken Blanchard has promoted Buddhism and Eastern style meditation for over 20 years, it became very alarming to know that Rick Warren was using Blanchard to train leaders around the world.

The weeks following Rick Warren’s email to us, we received phone calls and emails from different men from Saddleback, one of them telling us to stop “lobbing dead cats [and grenades] over the wall.” It was confirmed also that an email was sent out from Saddleback to an unknown number of people, discussing the Blanchard issue. That email stated that Lighthouse Trails had lied and they should not be listened to.

And then in December of 2005 a very strange thing happened – a woman sent us an email she had received from Rick Warren’s personal email address, which stated:

“The website you refer to [Lighthouse Trails] below is well-known for publishing lies, which can easily be proven false…. The Bible says “Satan is the father of lies”, so those who intentionally spread them are doing Satan’s work for him. That is evil. We suggest you avoid listening to evil people who have a habit of lying about ministers of the Gospel. Study the Scriptures every day and flee from those who make their reputation by lying.”

We contacted Saddleback about the email, and we received the following reply, suggesting that the email had been written by a computer hacker: “We are sorry that this public mailbox has been shut down due to vandalism and stolen identity. Federal enforcement officers are tracking down the source in either Africa or the Pacific Northwest.” At first, we thought this was a joke because we (who live in the Pacific Northwest) had recently issued a press release about an evangelist in Africa who had been opposing Purpose Driven. Hearing that Federal officers had narrowed down an investigation to either our location or the evangelist’s location seemed preposterous. We contacted Saddleback by phone requesting the names of these Federal agents because of the threatening nature of the “anonymous” email. A few days later a Saddleback staff member called and told us that Federal agents were doing an investigation on their web server being broken into and that Saddleback suspected Lighthouse Trails. We again asked for the names of the Federal agents as well as the Saddleback communications director that was handling the case. However, we were told they would not give us any names. We have not heard anything from Saddleback since.

We testify of these things, not to distract you from the issues at hand (of exposing contemplative and emerging spirituality within the church), but rather to show that Rick Warren, as well as other leaders, will go to great lengths to preserve their status and to complete their tasks, even to the point of lying, threatening, discrediting and deceiving. While we have postponed releasing this information for several months, because of Rick Warren’s continuous brazen remarks against the body of Christ and because Purpose Driven is an avenue through which the New Age is entering the church, we believe it is of utmost importance to relay this documentation to believers who are working so diligently to defend the gospel message of Jesus Christ in a time when a great falling away appears to be at hand.

The question we must ask is just how far will Rick Warren go to help rid churches of those they consider “leader[s] from hell,” who in reality may be part of the very Bride of Christ.

Special Note: Recently the Calvary Chapel movement (founded by Chuck Smith, Sr.) made a bold declaration when they decided to reject the emerging and contemplative prayer movements and to discontinue their support and use of all Purpose Driven materials. Many applaud this bold and sacrificial action.

A Visit to Rick Warren’s Health Seminar

Unless he repent, men like Rick Warren will actually help set up the anti-christ. He is already doing it! Rick Warren worshippers, do not come here trying to defend him. Time is short and I am not going to waste time trying to convince you of the truth. You have a duty, an obligation, a command to TEST ALL THINGS. I have pointed you to the truth. What you do with it, is your buisness.

Following article gotten here: http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/011/lighthousetrails/warren-seminar.htm

I first arrived to Saddleback’s campus only to be told that “all parking lots were full.” I drove across the street to see if there were any spots available in the business lots, and they were full too. I ended up parking in a housing tract and walked a mile or two back to Saddleback’s campus. As I arrived, I overheard a parking lot attendant say they estimated about 6,000 people had come to the seminar.
I was a little late, so I was grateful to my nephew who went online and began to relay what was being said in the opening comments, as I didn’t want to miss what was to be the foundation of the talks that day. I was a little taken aback when my nephew told me the first speaker, Dr. Amen, made reference to the Egyptian pyramids and how they were built upon an “idea,” and if man could build something like that all those thousands of years ago, what could he do today if he put his mind to it? I found that to be somewhat disturbing, as the pyramids, no matter how impressive they were, represent the ancient pagan religions which got their start in Babylon when Nimrod gathered men (the community) together to commit idolatry by building a tower to honor themselves as gods (Gen. Ch. 11).[1]

And yet here it was, the analogy that was chosen to illustrate this new “idea” Saddleback would launch their 52 week program with. No matter what Dr. Amen’s intent was, I believe the analogy was appropriate, and the subtle message is telling…”MAN CAN DO ANYTHING HE PUTS HIS MIND TO.” Sound familiar? (Read Gen. 3:4-5).[2]

As I began to head up the hill toward the main sanctuary, a Saddleback tram pulled up and the driver asked if I wanted a lift. I said I preferred to walk, but thanks. The driver yelled, “Let’s all give her a hand folks, she’s started the Daniel Plan already!” And the people on the tram cheered. Never mind the fact that I have been walking my entire life because I enjoy doing so, not because of some health and fitness campaign. I sensed I was entering a nightmare.

The main sanctuary was full, & it was standing room only. They told me the overflow areas were full too. So I found a spot on the patio outside the main sanctuary looking in. I had a good view and could see the stage perfectly. Their outdoor sound system made it so I could roam around, observe the audience, continue to listen to the guest speakers, and take notes.

To begin, I’d like to state that Saturday Jan. 15th, 2011 will go down in the history books as the day Saddleback Church was sold a bill of goods. The masses had come out in droves for answers to their weight loss difficulties & health problems, but unbeknownst to them, they were being given a prescription for restructuring society & population control.

The prescription goes by the name Agenda 21, a.k.a. “Sustainable Development” or “Smart Growth.” Agenda 21 is a published document put out by the United Nations with the intent to put limits on population and to restructure nation-states into a global society.[3] Rick Warren’s “new friends” had dubbed it, “The Daniel Plan – God’s Prescription For Your Health.” A more appropriate title would’ve been, “Sustainable Living – Destroying Inalienable Rights, One Community at a Time.”

By the time I settled into listening more intently, the second speaker, Mark Hyman, began. It didn’t take too long to figure out what the basis of his message was: We “need to heal with community” (he termed this “accompaniment”), “we’re here for the sake of each other,” this plan “is our way out,” this plan “saved me,” and in fact will “change the world.”

Saddleback was being told they were a “test community” to show the world how to live “healthy and sustainably.” When I heard these words, my heart sank. It was as I’d feared. I knew which buzzwords to listen for, and he was hitting them all. The audience was told they would be champions in health to show the world what “living sustainably” was all about, but Dr. Hyman is a leftist who is more than a champion in health, he’s a change agent for the global elite, as is Dr. Oz & Dr. Amen. Dr. Hyman is the founder and medical director of the Ultra Wellness Center, he advises Dr. Oz’s healthcore group, and he’s a nominee to President Obama’s advisory group on prevention, health promotion, and integrative and public health. [4] Hmmmmmm. I smell an agenda.

Dr. Hyman practices what’s known as “functional medicine,” which means he uses a “whole systems” approach to medicine; in other words, he practices medicine “wholistically,” This is also known as “Mind Body” medicine. At Saddleback’s seminar, “mind body” or “functional” medicine was presented as if it’s completely scientific. Any scientist worth his salt will tell you that yes, the body can be measured scientifically, but the mind falls into an entirely different category which can never be measured by science. As stated by Dave Hunt in his book Occult Invasion – The Subtle Seduction of the World and Church, “Physical science, by very definition, can make no judgments concerning a nonphysical realm” as is the mind & the soul.[5] In other words, the mind and the soul are scientifically immeasurable.

It’s the same with the religions of “Mind Science.” Calling a religion “Mind Science” or “Scientology,” when there’s nothing scientific about it, is the same as calling a cereal “Grapenuts” when it contains no grapes or nuts. But we live in an era when the masses have been sufficiently dumbed down, and all it takes to impress is clever packaging and branding. If “they” say it’s science, then dog-gone-it, it’s science! After all, “these doctors are on television.”

As I sat through all 3 presentations by Dr.’s Hyman, Amen, & Oz, what came to mind were the traveling salesmen of the 1800s. They talk fast, so fast that the message that’s really being given, goes right over people’s heads. They used tactics to tug at the heart strings such as videos of sick little girls who suddenly got well from being on “the program” and have been “set free” from relying on medications. Then they flooded the audience with “facts” and “statistics” to scare any grandmother, such as “a tsunami of disease is hitting us,” “life expectancy is going down,” “1 out of 2 people are diabetic or pre-diabetic,” “70% of all agricultural land is taken up by growing animals to feed all the people,” “the bigger your body gets, the more your brain shrinks,” etc.

I about fell off my chair when Dr. Hyman stated, “The key to the success of the “Daniel Plan” is “group living” … “individuals” will not succeed, our only hope lies in “community.” [LT Note:This is exactly what the emerging church is teaching.] And with that, it was announced that the “Saddleback community” would be an example of “sustainable living” and would set the course to “change this world” … and the crowd went wild! [LT Note: Remember, when we reported how Rick Warren talked glowingly about a critical mass needed to change our world?]

Dr. Hyman said that he is a Jew, Dr. Amen said he is a Christian, and Dr. Oz said he is a Muslim. And doesn’t that represent the demographic of “most of the population of the world”? But then he said, “we’re all the same underneath.” True to his salesman fashion, Dr. Hyman didn’t define his terms. What in the world does he mean “we’re all the same underneath”? That can mean a number of things. Since he was speaking to a religious crowd, I’d venture to say some of the folks present took that to mean we’re all children of God (Jews, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, etc.), which is patently false according to the Bible. The Bible says there are only two groups, children of wrath and children of God. You’re either one or the other, a believer in Christ Jesus, or a non-believer. We aren’t “all the same underneath.” (Ephesians Ch. 2).[6]

The only way in which we’re “all the same underneath” is we’re all sinners in need of a Savior; and the Savior isn’t “sustainable living.” [LT Note: Remember, the New Age says the era of the single savior is OVER!] The Savior is Jesus Christ, and He is the only way unto salvation (John 14:6).[7] And to become a child of God, Jesus said, “You must be born again” (John Ch. 3). [8] The tragic thing about this day at Saddleback is, Jesus was never mentioned … and I mean NEVER. There were a few passing references to God; Daniel Amen mentioned that our bodies were “a temple of the Holy Spirit and the brain is the inner sanctum” [Amen means that all humans are the temple of the Holy Spirit], but Jesus never made the cut – ”sustainable lifestyles” and “group living” did.

Following Dr. Hyman’s talk, my best friend arrived to observe the day with me, only to hear Dr. Amen mention in his presentation that he did a brain scan on one of his clients who had a habit of cheating on his wife. The brain scan showed that there were “holes in the pre-frontal cortex of his brain” which controls the impulses. In other words, this man wasn’t sinful, he was “mentally ill.” All he needed was to get on the “Change Your Brain, Change Your Body” program, and his personal struggles with sin were remedied. Once again, Jesus was removed from the equation. My friend and I were dumbfounded when we listened to the Saddleback crowd cheer. My best friend couldn’t contain it any longer and let out a, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” My thoughts exactly!

Dr. Hyman recommended Yoga and meditation to the crowd. Dr. Amen gave a diplomatic denunciation of Yoga (which is contradictory since he has recommended it himself), but about 5 sentences later mentioned a study done by a friend of his named Andy Newberg who did brain scans on Tibetan nuns and Franciscan priests while in “prayer and contemplation” and the study showed that “spiritual connection” is healthy. Dr. Amen has been an advocate of “Sa Ta Na Ma” meditation.[9]

If by chance any attendees of the Saddleback “Health and Fitness Seminar” read this blog post, I encourage you to educate yourself about what globalism truly is. You also need to research Agenda 21. As stated earlier, the purpose of Agenda 21 is to restructure society. Sounds conspiratorial, I know. But it isn’t a conspiracy; it’s a published document of the United Nations that’s in full swing. Anywhere you hear the terms, “Sustainable Development,” ”sustainable living,” “smart growth,” ”going green,” etc., rest assured you’ve just been exposed to the U.N.’s Agenda 21. [10]

It shouldn’t surprise us that Rick Warren would allow a seminar of this nature at Saddleback; after all, he himself has “GONE GREEN.” [11] He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.[12] This illustrates the natural progression of one being unequally yoked with non-believers & buying into heresies such as “Kingdom Now,” “Dominionism,” or “Restoration Theology.” Where these heresies reign, as they do at Saddleback, you will find that the focus subtly shifts from salvation in Christ alone, through faith alone, to misguided efforts to restore mankind & the earth through “community” works, sustainable living, and social justice. How convenient that these just happen to be the vehicles which the United Nations is using to further it’s own agenda to restructure society & unite the world under its governing body of global elites.

TRUE TRUTH: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

(I found it to be slightly humorous that, on page 9 of the booklet which Saddleback passed out to attendees, the symptom of “itchy ears” was listed in the “Medical Symptom/Toxicity Questionnaire”…oh, the irony!) (source: Ponderings from Patmos)

Just one more reason I don’t go to church

I found this over at http://www.alittleleaven.com/2010/10/miley-cyrus-purpose-driven-praise-song-the-climb.html

They had this to say about it: Miley Cyrus’ Purpose-Driven Praise Song “The Climb”. Here’s a video of praise and worship time at Saddleback Church. Please open your hymnals to… ahem…sorry we meant to say…watch the jumbotron so that you can sing along as the Saddleback Church Worship team leads the congregation audience in that timeless “Christian” classic The Climb by Miley Cyrus.

I say this: Just one more reason I don’t go to church. If i had to sit through the following being expected to believe this had anything to do with the Gospel, I would puke. Not only is the music so typically generic, the lyrics are dull and meaningless. Hold your head high.” Isn’t that a sign of pride? Hmmm. “It’s about the climb.” Really? Not about Jesus?

This stinks to high heaven. I sure as heck hope they ain’t gonna be playing this one in heaven. If so, I will have to step out side the pearly gates and get some air!

Welcome to the apostacy. Oh did I mention this takes place at Rick Warren’s church? No surprise there.

If for some reason you like it, don’t bother telling me. I could not care less.

DAMNABLE HERESIES INVADING THE CHURCH

A large number of Christians are unaware that literally truck loads of counterfeit Christians have gained access to pulpits, wormed their way into Church leadership, Christian organizations and are deeply entrenched in the so-called Christian entertainment industry. Call them what you will–false teachers/prophets, liberals/progressives, cultists, misinformed, misled, even looney tunes–the one thing they all have in common is that they have strayed from the truth.

Unbiblical teaching has been going on since the early church took root. Peter cautioned that “there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction” (2 Peter 2:1).

Today there is a damnable heresy in the Church that many Christians haven’t yet heard of: The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) a.k.a. Dominionism/ Kingdom Now/Replacement Theology. Those who disagree with their false gospel must be removed through intense “spiritual warfare” and by raising up a “new breed “of Christian they call an “Army of God.”

The NAR is not new at all. Only the name has been changed—many times—to fool people into thinking there is a “New Wave” or a “Paradigm Shift” taking place in Christendom. Over the years they have dubbed themselves Joel’s Army, Latter Rain, Manifest Sons of God, and the list goes on. They’re ushering in “a reformation greater in scale than the reformation of the 1500′s.”

A liberal pundit lamented that NAR is on a mission to “take control of communities and nations through large networks of ‘prayer warriors’ whose spiritual warfare is used to expel and destroy the demons that cause societal ills. Once the territorial demons, witches, and generational curses are removed, the ‘born-again’ Christians…take control of society.”

The concept of spiritual warfare comes from the Bible. It warns of invisible beings who want to harm us and advises us to put on armor (spiritual armor) in order to ward off their vicious attacks. Problem is, the way in which NAR practices spiritual warfare is both unorthodox and extra-biblical. First of all, they teach three levels of spiritual warfare:

“Ground-level” involves casting demons out of individuals; “occult-level warfare” involves more organized “powers of darkness” [They target here New Age thought, Tibetan Buddhism, Freemasonry, etc.]; and “strategic-level warfare” directly “confronts ‘territorial spirits’ assigned by Satan to coordinate activities over a geographical area.”

In addition, they carry out other extra-biblical practices such as “binding Satan,” “rebuking demonic spirits,” “tearing down strongholds,” and “taking control of cities and situations.”

Why go to all the trouble of demolishing demonic strongholds, even if such things do exist, when the Bible teaches that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is sufficient for demolishing strongholds! (2 Cor 10:3-5).

Liberals/progressives actually fear born again Christians who hold a place of power, have political influence, and are well-connected. One reason the Left hated George W. Bush is because he purported to be a born again Christian. For daring to openly profess his faith in Jesus Christ, liberal elitists labeled him a religious zealot. The liberal press relish portraying individuals who professes a belief in Christ as not the sharpest knife in the tool shed. Never mind that a number of our Founding Fathers, who most will concede were brilliant men, were born again Christians.

Now it seems liberals have a bit of anxiety over “movement operative’s” plans to take dominion:

“The movement’s notion of ‘spiritual warfare’ has spread from the California suburbs to an East-Coast inner city, and has impacted policy decisions in the developing world. Movement operatives are well-connected enough to have testified before Congress and to have received millions of dollars in government abstinence-only sex-education grants, and bizarre enough to maintain that in its prototype communities, the movement has healed AIDS, purified polluted streams and even grown huge vegetables.” (Note: Michelle Obama has also grown huge veggies in her garden at the White House.)

With all due respect, most progressives/liberals haven’t the foggiest idea what spiritual warfare even means. What they don’t quite “get” is that spiritual warfare is a metaphor for what is taking place in the invisible realm. The Bible tells us that Satan is the ruler of this world until Christ returns to judge the world. Moreover, the demonic forces control the minds of individuals. Jesus said to the Pharisees: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44). What does this mean? John Wesley explains:

He was a murderer – In inclination, from the beginning – Of his becoming a devil; and abode not in the truth – Commencing murderer and liar at the same time. And certainly he was a killer of men (as the Greek word properly signifies) from the beginning of the world: for from the very creation he designed and contrived the ruin of men. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own – For he is the proper parent, and, as it were, creator of it. See the origin not only of lies, but of evil in general!

Suffice it to say that Satan and his demons influence people’s thinking–and not in a good way. Since Bible-believing Christians hold that the devil exists, we prepare ourselves for battle by putting on the “armor of God.” (Eph 6:10-19) (Learn how to get dressed for battle by clicking here.) We are commanded to be discerning: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try [test] the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1).

Let us apply this principle to dominionists.

The movement is made up of Charismatics and Pentecostals. There is a movement of charismatic Catholics as well. NAR is growing at a rate of 9 million per year. Charismatics hold that the manifestations of the Holy Spirit seen in the first century Christian Church are still available today and can be experienced and practiced and that the Holy Ghost has endued them with supernatural gifts such as prophetic utterance, speaking in tongues, casting out demons, breaking down strongholds, healing, and other “signs and wonders” to include bringing dead people back to life, although no documentation exists to prove this claim.

The “High Priest” of NAR is C. Peter Wagner, former professor of Church Growth at Fuller Theological Seminary School of World Mission. Wagner, born in 1930, is the founder of Global Harvest Ministries and the presiding apostle of the International Coalition of Apostles, which he also founded, and co-founder of World Prayer Center.

There is a hierarchy in NAR that resembles the Roman Catholic Church. Once world dominion is accomplished, those at the top level will have apostolic authority over other ministries. Are you seeing the danger yet? This could mean literally thousands of ministries with so-called apostles and prophets at the helm! Every person will have an apostle or prophet to whom they are accountable.

According to one source the coalition includes “several hundred apostles across the U.S. and about 40 nations, international training centers and prayer warrior communication networks in all 50 states and worldwide.”

Some readers are sitting there with their mouths agape, thinking “This smacks of imperialism!” Bingo!

Sarah Leslie of Discernment Ministries has written on this very subject. In her article “Dominionism and the Rise of Christian Imperialism” She reveals what the Dominionism teaches. Here is an excerpt:

“The Gospel of Salvation is achieved by setting up the ‘Kingdom of God’ as a literal and physical kingdom to be ‘advanced’ on Earth in the present age. Some dominionists liken the New Testament Kingdom to the Old Testament Israel in ways that justify taking up the sword, or other methods of punitive judgment, to war against enemies of their kingdom. Dominionists teach that men can be coerced or compelled to enter the kingdom. They assign to the Church duties and rights that belong Scripturally only to Jesus Christ. This includes the esoteric belief that believers can ‘incarnate’ Christ and function as His body on Earth to establish His kingdom rule. An inordinate emphasis is placed on man’s efforts; the doctrine of the sovereignty of God is diminished.”

Any student of the Bible will understand that the type of thinking described above is highly unbiblical. Where in Scripture does it teach that the sheep, as Jesus refers to His followers, will be given the power to incarnate Christ?

Also mentioned in Sarah Leslie’s article is Pastor Rick Warren. She says Warren “intends to amass the world’s largest volunteer ‘army’ of ‘one billion foot soldiers’ to implement his global P.E.A.C.E. Plan.”

On Sunday, April 17, 2005 Speaking before 30,000 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Rick Warren announced his plan:

“The bottom line is that we intend to reinvent mission strategy in the 21st century. As I stated, this will be a new Reformation. The First Reformation returned us to the message of the original church. It was a reformation of doctrine – what the church BELIEVES. This Second Reformation will return us to the mission of the original church. It will be a reformation of PURPOSE – what the church DOES in the world.”

“Our goal will be to enlist one billion foot soldiers for the Kingdom of God, who will permanently change the face of international missions to take on these five ‘global giants’ for which the church can become the ultimate distribution and change agent to overcome Spiritual emptiness, Self-serving Leadership, Poverty, disease and ignorance (or illiteracy).”

Pastor Warren also made these comments:

“Who’s the man of peace in any village – or it might be a woman of peace – who has the most respect, they’re open and they’re influential? They don’t have to be a Christian. In fact, they could be a Muslim, but they’re open and they’re influential and you work with them to attack the five giants. And that’s going to bring the second Reformation.”

“‘I see absolutely zero reason in separating my fellowship from anybody,” he said. Noting he has theological differences with many of the diverse denominations that invite him to speak, Warren added, “That doesn’t stop me from fellowshipping with them.” When he heard of the SBC’s withdrawal, he added, “I thought, ‘This is silly! Why would we separate ourselves from brothers and sisters in the world?’”

What Warren is purporting is ecumenicism. Actually, we are moving beyond ecumenicism into interspirituality (interfaith spirituality) or interdenominational cooperation. “In the name of peace and unity,” says Ray Yungen, “the world’s religions are more and more joining together. And with that joining together will come a consensus that it is narrow minded and even hateful to say there is only one way to salvation.”

There’s not enough space here to cover interspirituality, so I’ll more on.

Peace and unity has a nice ring to it. But traditional, historic, evangelical Christianity holds that there is only one path to God, one door to enter through. Peter left no doubt when he said, “Salvation is found in no one else” (Acts 4:10). (Also see John 3:16, John 6:66-68, John 14:6, Acts 16:30-31, 1 Tim 2:3-6, 1 John 2:1) The Bible clearly teaches that all paths do not lead to God. Those who take a different path will spend eternity in hell. So the loving thing for a committed Christian to do is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost. In fact, Jesus commanded His followers to go out into the world and spread the good news. Those who keep the good news to themselves fail to understand that God gives no second chances. Jesus said, “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Mat. 7:22).

I’ve drifted from my point. Most Christians have no clue that false teachers abound in the Church. And if they’re aware, they’re ignoring it–or they just don’t care! Some may think the Bible teaches that believers must set up a kingdom here on earth to usher in the Second Coming of Christ. But let me assure you, this is extra-biblical teaching.

Christians have got to put up their discernment antenna. We must start probing to see what other Christians believe and then ask ourselves, “Is it scriptural?” There is nothing wrong with examining teaching coming from the pulpit! Paul praised the Bereans for checking his teaching against the Word of God. (Acts 17:11) We must scrutinize Bible teachers, evangelists, missionaries, speakers, writers, politicians, entertainers, health practitioners, bloggers, and look into “Christian” businesses to see what they’re really selling. Anyone can use a Christian symbol or quote Bible verses to make themselves or what they’re selling sound Christian because they know that gullible folks buy into it! Is it any wonder God warns us to be on the lookout for the spirit of error that comes from Satan and his demons? Satan was a liar from the beginning which is why believers have to be armed with the sword of the spirit–the Word of God!

It is imperative that Christians guard (tend to carefully) God’s Word. Deuteronomy 11:17-20:

“Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates…”

When his words are written on our hearts we are not so easily taken in by charlatans, false teachers or enticed into a cult.

Paul admonished Timothy to “keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called” (1 Tim 6:20). In other words, “continue in the simplicity of sincere doctrine.”

Knowing the truth is essential to the faith. Yet neo-evangelicals are inept at protecting biblical truth. Biblical truth is not found in so-called Christians who abandon Church doctrine and rely on what God or so-called angels say to them in visions and dreams. Never, never, never abandon the Bible to follow the teachings of these men and women! Run from those who deny the Deity of Jesus Christ. If Jesus Christ is not God, Christianity is a sham.

One last thing. Nowhere in Scripture does it say that we are to treat false teachers with charity and Christian love. In fact we’re taught just the opposite:

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds” (2 John 1:9-11).

Rick Warren False Peace And The Antichrist Agenda

Rick Warren fans or followers, wake up!

He said God tells him to find the man of peace. Hmm, looks to me like God would say find the man of truth. Peace without truth is compromise. There is such a difference, isn’t there?

Are you in Warren’s church? Come out of it. You are in a whore pretending to be the true Bride of Christ.

Some will find that statement shocking, no doubt. I ask you, why are you not testing things? God said there would be a falling away from the truth in the last days. What part of that do you not understand? Why do you judge me for being a Berean? Why do you adhere to teachings of men when God has told us to test all things?

Rather some of you would spend your time, just like the Pharisees – oh yes, it was the Scribes and Pharisees — that judged the truth as being a lie. They were so set in their ways, they wanted nothing of the truth. Think about it.

Rick Warren False Peace And The Antichrist Agenda

You can not serve two masters. Rick Warren and his agenda of “saving the earth” is all about bringing in the New Age. You can not tell me he does not know this. He is a wolf and a goat.

And please don’t anyone tell me all the “good” he is doing. He is compromising the truth for the sake of his own life. He is a sell out. New Age.

You can watch part of the whole thing here.

I find the noise, the commotion interesting.
“Not interested in interfaith dialouges but interfaith projects.”
All work together for the “greater good.”
“We need to join together to form some kind of coailition to end sterotyping.”
“We need a coailiton of people of good will committed to the common good who say ‘we’re not going to allow the sterotyping of anybody.’ “
“Work together to restore civility to civilazation.”
“The world is getting more rude.” Rude? Why not use the word evil, Rick?

Sorry, I could only watch 10 mintues of this lukewarmed dribble.

Rick Warren – Little leaven (spirit of anti-christ)

This kind of compromise is nothing short of appeasing the enemy. The enemy being the father of all lies–Satan. This is THE spirit that will bind the world together as one today, under the rule of anti-christ. Rick Warren is another false teacher and will end up working well within the ranks of wicked government if he does not stop compromising the gospel.

This man is dangerous! Rick Warren calls for Christian-Muslim partnership

As Rick Warren’s gospel gets weaker and weaker, he becomes more dangerous to Christians. Why? You do NOT, I repeat, you do NOT go out of your way to find common ground with  lies and deception. WHAT is with Rick Warren? WHO is he trying to please? WHO or WHAT is his god? This man appears to have an agenda that is more anti-christ in nature than one of following the One True God. Has anyone told him that christians and muslims do NOT serve the same god? This man is dangerous, church. Just who do you think will have to compromise beliefs in order to get along?

Article gotten here: (Thanks Annie for sending ot to me)

http://www.onenewsnow.com/Church/Default.aspx?id=592930

WASHINGTON, DC – Defying some of his fellow conservative Christian critics, one of the most prominent religious leaders in the country told several thousand American Muslims on Saturday that “the two largest faiths on the planet” must work together to combat stereotypes and solve global problems.

RedeemedHippie:[Who does Rick Warren think he is to tell any of us what we need to be doing? His agenda is sooo New-Age!]

“Some problems are so big you have to team tackle them,” evangelical megachurch pastor Rick Warren addressed the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).

Warren said Muslims and Christians should be partners in working to end what he calls “the five global giants” of war, poverty, corruption, disease, and illiteracy.

RedeemedHippie:[This is a type of appeasement, Church. There is nothing wrong with working with other groups. But to call on the church for such a thing is nothing short of of a type of anti-christ agenda and not one of God's. It is devilsih to try and bring together groups in a FAKE sense of unity. How can there be true unity without the truth?! Rick Warren is helping to usher in anti-christ with his sissy wimpy green Jesus!]

Warren, founder of Saddleback Community Church in Orange County, California, is the author of The Purpose Driven Life, which has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. His willingness to show support for U.S. Muslims is a huge gain for the community, which has endured intense scrutiny since 9/11.

A Southern Baptist, Warren has a record of upsetting fellow Christian conservatives by calling old-guard evangelical activists too partisan and narrowly focused. Ahead of his speech Saturday, bloggers who follow Warren had already denounced his appearance at the convention as cozying up to extremists.

Warren acknowledged the controversy during his 20-minute speech.

“It’s easier to be an extremist of any kind because then you only have one group of people mad at you,” he said. “But if you actually try to build relationships — like invite an evangelical pastor to your gathering — you’ll get criticized for it. So will I.”

In his speech, Warren also urged Muslims and Christians to speak out against stereotyping of any group and to respect each other even while disagreeing. Addressing Muslims who “have been in America for many generations now,” he urged them to help “the newcomers learn what it means to be American.”

Based in Plainfield, Indiana, ISNA is an umbrella organization for Muslim groups across the country. The annual convention, now in its 46th year, regularly draws more than 30,000 people for lectures, prayer, and socializing.

Many in the crowd were drawn to the session by prominent Muslim scholars such as Sheik Hamza Yusuf of the Zaytuna Institute in Berkeley, California.

Ann Zahra, 42, said she had never heard of Warren before Saturday but agreed with much of his speech. “The basics are the same,” said Zahra, of McLean, Va. “No religion teaches cruelty or disrespect or hatred.”

Rick Warren’s Generic Prayer

Redeemed Hippie>>>[Before anyone attacks my criticism towards Rick Warren, let me say this; The people in the church who have set themselves up as someone within the world have watered down the truth for the sake of their own social/political gain. They compromise the truth by not telling the whole truth and nothng but the truth. I suppose if they did, they would not be very well loved by the very men they associate with. Jesus warned us to be careful if the world loved us. He said they would hate us. Yet, there are so many within the church that the politicians love. Why is that? some would say, "Well, God has given them favor?" Which I would answer, "Is that so? Then please tell me how they are really making any kind of impact with the real truth. Are there souls being saved? Is there a cry of repentence? What about holiness? Are these things being addressed? It is not just about Jesus changing a life. Anyone can change anyones' life for the better or the good. It is about wicked man going to hell. It is about wicked men and women needing a Savior. It is about the Lamb of God receiving the reward of His sufferings; the souls of men!"

Rick Warrens' prayer: Almighty God, our Father, everything we see, and everything we can't see, exists because of you alone.

It all comes from you, it all belongs to you, it all exists for your glory.

History is your story.

The Scripture tells us, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one." And you are the compassionate and merciful one. And you are loving to everyone you have made.

Now today, we rejoice not only in America's peaceful transfer of power for the 44th time, we celebrate a hinge point of history with the inauguration of our first African-American president of the United States.

Redeemed Hippie>>>[Never mind the color of the man. The issue is his character.]

We are so grateful to live in this land, a land of unequaled possibility, where the son of an African immigrant can rise to the highest level of our leadership. And we know today that Dr. King and a great cloud of witnesses are shouting in heaven.

Redeemed Hippie>>>[Really? Where in the Word are we told the angels shout when anyone comes into leadership? Is it not said that when one repents, that is when the angels express anything?  If Dr. King is in heaven, and if there are a great cloud of witnesses, WHY would they shout? This is far from scriptural. It is nothing but appeasement. Why would the angels shout because an abortion advocate stepped into office? Why would they shout for an unrepentant man? Are the angels so wrapped up in the color of man, that they too would would put symbolism over substance? ]

Give to our new president, Barack Obama, the wisdom to lead us with humility, the courage to lead us with integrity, the compassion to lead us with generosity.

Redeemed Hippie>>>[Sounds good enough, BUT it is a watered down generic prayer for Americas' new leader.]

Bless and protect him, his family, Vice President Biden, the Cabinet and every one of our freely elected leaders.

Help us, O God, to remember that we are Americans, united not by race or religion or blood, but to our commitment to freedom and justice for all.

When we focus on ourselves, when we fight each other, when we forget you, forgive us.

Redeemed Hippie>>>[That is all well and good too. However, Mr. Warren fails to suggest there are two forces at work in this nation. Good and evil. Evil abounds when good men do nothing; when good men appease their enemies. There is a time of war and a time of peace. There is a war between good and evil in this nation and it is easy for any discerning christian to see who is what.]

When we presume that our greatness and our prosperity is ours alone, forgive us.

When we fail to treat our fellow human beings and all the earth with the respect that they deserve, forgive us.

And as we face these difficult days ahead, may we have a new birth of clarity in our aims, responsibility in our actions, humility in our approaches and civility in our attitudes – even when we differ.

Redeemed Hippie>>>[' a new birth of clarity'? How about a new birth for the souls of men? Why do we need a new aim and responsibility? Our aims and responsibilities have been pretty accurate; to protect our nation and to advance freedom to other nations if they so desire.]

Help us to share, to serve and to seek the common good of all.

Redeemed Hippie>>>I have nothing against sharing. But when tax dollars are spent every day supporting those who will not work; those who think the rest of us owe them something, for those nations who hate us, for the many abortions in this nation, for those who put a tree or a chicken above the life of a baby–I have a real problem with that. I’m all for not sharing another penny for an unjust cause. ‘the common good of all.’ Sounds like socialism to me.]

May all people of good will today join together to work for a more just, a more healthy, and a more prosperous nation and a peaceful planet.

Redeemed Hippie>>>[New age tripe.]

And may we never forget that one day, all nations, and all people, will stand accountable before you.

Redeemed Hippie>>>[THAT was the only thing Mr. Warren said that had any real conviction.]

We now commit our new president and his wife, Michelle, and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, into your loving care.

I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life – Yeshua, Isa, Jesus, [Spanish pronunciation], Jesus – who taught us to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

Amen.

Redeemed Hippie>>>[ 'I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life ...

What name was it? George, Henry, Buddah, the Dali Lama ? Why did he not say the name of Jesus? Why did he compromise here? Is he ashamed of the One who changed his life? Why did he not say the one who saved his soul? I find Mr. Warren just one of many appeasers in the scheme of things. People are deluding themselves when they believe their watered-down gosple will change the men around them.]
