Tod Bentley and his angel of “Finance.”

Video date April 12, 2010 (so the glory event has probably happened.)

Looking like some cheap knock off of Anton Levey, Tod Bentley once again is spreading his lies. This time is about his encounter with the “angel of finance.” Bob Jones, Rick Joyner — all the great ones have encouraged him with this latest lie.

“Bob Jones said he too had an encounter with an angel called the international banker.” Of course, Bob Jones did. This man, I believe is so demonically possessed at this point he can’t know a devil from an angel. Remember, he had a three foot angel (demon) named “Charlie” appear before him. I do not mean to be unkind but someone needs to take him to go get his head examined. It IS possible he has a brain tumor at this stage in his life or something.

TB, Jones and Joyner all having visions or whatever during the same time, was God’s way of telling them, He was going to release finances. “God wants to release that angelic realm that controls finances. Not just for buisness, not just for the kingdom, but the nations.”

After reading from Isaiaih 45, TB exploits God’s word by saying : “It’s time for God to give us the treasures of darkness. That’s always been the promise.”

I’m afraid this treasure of darkness TB speaks of, is exactly that — a treasure of darkness such as the man he is.

Then blah, blah, blah all his worn-out talk once again about glory. Glory equaling wealth, riches, etc. I suppose if you are able to deceive as many as you can to give to your ministry, yep, you will see that ol’ glory, Tod.

They want people to come to the glory conference that represents their debts. Really? How about taking you bills and letting TB pay for them? That’s an idea.

“Supernatural transfer of wealth.”

There is gonna be a transfer of wealth alright. But not the kind TB and his minions talk of. It is an enemy within the United States. It is called communism and TB and his people want to make sure they get your piece of the pie before government gets it.

TB manipulates by trying to speak to women to fund his ministry.

Just as God truly has His remnant all ove the Untied States, you can bet Satan is setting up his children alsos. Tob Bentley is one of many.

Please forgive me, my friends. I just can not transcribe all the lies and embellishments of this man. But know this: TB is still at large and still fleecing any sheep that either do not take time to test things or are looking to God as a genie. Or trusting man to hear from God for them.

When the doo-doo hits the fan in this nation, these fakes will not have a leg to stand on. Do not be so foolish to give your money to them. They will NOT be the ones to save you. Do NOT put your trust in them or their teachings for their teachings come from hell and lying demons.

Greater Glory Gathering and a New Angel!

In light of Patricia King’s new “minty green angel”  (just in time for Saint Patrick’s Day, I might add) we now have the International Banker angel to contend with. Following article gotten here: http://slaughteringthesheep.wordpress.com/2010/03/13/greater-glory-gathering-and-the-angel-named-international-banker/

Mt 16:4  A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

I want you to get this picture in your mind - you’re sitting in church and the pastor opens the Bible and begins expository teaching.  He takes you verse by verse through the Scriptures and he actually teaches you the Word of God.  It’s a nice picture, isn’t it?  Do you want to see the exact opposite of that?  Keep reading.

Bob Jones had an angelic encounter recently and said that the angel introduced himself as the “angel that was the International Banker.”  I’m thinking this is the angel of finance with a new title, because Rick Joyner relates that instead of introducing himself as the angel of finance, he introduced himself as “International Banker.”  Wow.  Ya know, I’m highly irritated that the Bible failed to mention this specific angel to me.  If it hadn’t been for Bob Jones, Todd Bentley, and Rick Joyner, I would have never even known this particular angel existed.  The nerve!

In this video, Rick Joyner and Todd Bentley announce the Greater Glory Gathering, which is going to be held from April 18 to 21, 2010, at Heritage International Ministries.  They stress that this is not a school and it’s not a conference, it’s a gathering!  Featured speakers will be  Bob Jones, Rick Joyner, Todd Bentley, Ryan Wyatt, and Jason Hooper, and with a lineup like that, it promises to be a real mystical experience!

Conferences, revival schools, and gatherings are nothing new with Joyner; they have them all the time.  The marketing spin they put on each one of them grows more colorful and lively than the one before it.  What’s interesting about this particular “gathering” is that Todd Bentley is saying it was reinforced, or rather inspired, by encounters he has been having recently.  In one encounter, he was digging through some rubble when he found a manual.  It was a manual about God’s greater glory.  What a convenient vision to have right before a “greater glory” gathering, wouldn’t you say?  He then compares it to when Josiah and Hilkiah dug the book of Moses out of the rubble of Solomon’s temple, which resulted in the greatest revival in the history of Israel.

(Insert the power of suggestion here…we will have revival…we will have revival…we will have revival.  God told me (Bentley) in a vision that there would be revival, even gave me the how-to manual, so there’s gonna be a revival, folks!  You just need to believe it and jump on board!  It’s up to you!  Come on!  We can’t have revival without you!)

In another encounter, Bentley was visited by an angel with gemstones in its wings.  This angel stood like a man, was six-feet-two-inches tall, and had wings like a cherubim.  The angel said to Bentley, “I’ve come to speak about finance, and the release of finance and the wealth of nations.”  What an important message!  I mean, there’s nothing else the church needs to hear about more than money!  It’s all according to who you know, and this would be a great contact to have if you’re interested in fronting a global revival!  Revival requires money, and the gem-stone angel is here to make sure the blessing of finance is released… that is, to deceive you into releasing your money and sending it to Bentley.

So, immediately after this angelic visitation, he gets on the telephone with Bob Jones, and Jones said, “Didn’t I tell you the word I had about the international banker that visited me!?”   Rick Joyner interjects, “Yeah, that was a name for an angel.”  Bentley then relates that that was how the angel had introduced himself to Bob Jones – “The angel that was the international banker.”  Joyner then informs us that this angel is over the treasuries of Heaven for the earth, therefore, there will be financial breakthroughs in the form of debt cancellation.

Here’s where it gets maddening.  Joyner goes into a strange interpretation of Scripture where he says that when God showed Moses his back side, He was showing him His stripes on His back, and that’s where people’s financial debt was cancelled.  Those stripes.  Right there.  On His back.  Go ahead and max out your credit card and heap things up to satisfy your fleshly desires – God the Father has those stripes upon His back to cancel your financial debt.  Now, Joyner does say that those stripes were taken to cancel all debt, but money debt is definitely one of them.  This unscriptural interpretation smacks of Oneness Pentecostalism, it isn’t sound Biblical doctrine.  God the Father doesn’t have stripes upon His back, those were taken by Jesus Christ, the Son of God who became flesh - not the Father!

Now, to be fair, Joyner did acknowledge that some people are in the financial shape they’re in because of foolish decisions.  I concur!  But then he and Bentley go on to say that the manifest presence is about more than signs or debt cancellation, it’s about the “glory.”  The glory that’s coming.  Bentley says that in the past they saw gold, angel feathers, and all kinds of signs such as gemstones and diamonds, which was evidence to them that God’s glory was being poured out.   But in this Greater Glory Gathering, it’s God’s manifest presence they’re after – the person of God.  Problem is, Jesus said no one comes to the Father except through Him.  He is the door, and should they try to come up any other way, they are the same as a thief and a robber.  (John 14:6)

So many people are looking for signs, but Jesus said no sign would be given except the sign of Jonah.  As Jonah was three days and nights in the belly of the whale, so was Jesus three days and nights in the heart of the earth.  (Matthew 12:40)  They fail to remember that Jesus said that only a wicked and adulterous generation seeks a sign.  But, those who hear the voice of God’s Son, who follow His words, who walk in His ways, who believe in Him…those are the ones who, like Abraham, believe God, and will have it imputed to them as righteousness.  (Romans 4:3)  What other sign more marvelous can God the Father give us than the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, His Son?  There is none.  Not gemstones, not angel feathers, not diamonds.  It isn’t those things which show God’s glory – God was glorified through His Son!

Those who neglect the Son of God and search beyond Jesus for further proof of God’s glory have completely missed the whole point.  Paul, who truly visited the third Heaven didn’t tell tall tales of glory clouds and gem-encrusted angels, he said this:  “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.”  (1 Corinthians 2:1-2)

Outside of that, there is nothing.  May we ever keep our eyes and hearts upon Jesus!

The following comments taken from slaughteringthesheep blog are great  examples of Bereans testing all things:

“Joyner then informs us that this angel is over the treasuries of Heaven for the earth. There will be financial breakthroughs in the form of debt cancellation.”

This debt retirement couldn’t come at a better time for MorningStar in view of its debt. — Ian –

Hey, is this “angel that was the International Banker” mint green ? Methinks he’s visited ol’ Patty King. — Denise –

The angel will be showing up at the gathering and his word will be in line with the word Todd gave when he did his $1,000 sham in Lakeland. I am willing to bet that the promise of wealth transfer will be pushed over and over during this gathering. You cancel Morningstar’s debt and this angel will see all your debt will be cancelled as well.

The more you give the greater your blessing will be. Your influnce with God will also be greater. Man, the suckers still believe this crap.

They deserve to be fleeced to their last penny. — Rick –

If the angel is in charge of the ” treasuries of heaven ” why doesn’t he finagle some way of bringing some of it with him ? And why doesn’t this financial angel teach seed faith to Rick Joyner so Rick doesn’t have to keep taking up collections from the poor people in his audience? That way, Rick can finally be a blessing and give away some money instead of sucking people dry. But then again, maybe these folk are getting what they deserve, just by showing up and listening to these clowns.

By the way, can anyone explain to me why we need treasuries in heaven, the streets are paved with gold for crying out loud. I always thought the real treasure in heaven would be Jesus Christ – oh yeah, they forgot about that !

You know they’ve been priming that pump for years by telling people that blessings come when they open their wallets and give generously. So, now with the appearance of this “angel” (demon), people will think that the outpouring will be commensurate with their giving and so these guys will just take the money (as they always do) and pad their accounts and then tell people how much blessing is coming from their giving and they should keep giving so that the annointing will increase.

I would just remind folks of Simon in Acts 8 who thought that he could buy the ability to bless people with the power of the Holy Spirit and he was directly rebuked and told that he was in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity. These guys are akin with the likes of Simon the Sorcerer. Perhaps they can get together with Christina Glenn and scream a little louder so that the banking angel will release more funds.

In His service,

Mike

After nearly 30 years in the financial services industry, I can tell you from experience that any “angel” name “international banker” is 100% a fallen angel/demon. 2sd2lol
These knuckleheads are bringing the New Age Aquarius eastern mysticism into what passes for the “church.” Alice Bailey and Barbara Marx Hubbard taught extensively about these Luciferian lies (as if they were truth), and we who follow Jesus as Lord, (and no ascended master jesus counterfeit) are the cancer they wish to cut out to save the body of new humans who will be “cleansed” and made into demon motels for the age to come. They all want their way for 2012 and we are holding things up, so we must be removed.
Tribulation, both small and great, are NOT the wrath of God, but the wrath of satan. Jesus said we would see tribulation even as such that has never been seen before or will ever happen again.
God has always delivered His own THROUGH floods, fire, lions etc…some to live another day, some to glory. How many people got on the ark after God closed the door? While the flood was a judgement from God, the Great Tribulation is from Satan….ah but the wrath of God is not for those of us who are in Christ Jesus, be of good cheer saints, He has overcome the world, and so will we who are in Christ Jesus,…martyr means witness, and there are many under the alter spoken of in Revelation.
When we lose our religion about Him based upon the traditions of men, and embrace Him as Lord, we begin to see clearly, and the seeming mysteries of Revelation become clear…but you must allow Him to tear everything not built by Him down, reducing you to Christ Jesus, so He can build on Himself as the Foundation. You can’t hang His Truth on a superstructure of traditions of men…He won’t allow it. Many are called, few are chosen, narrow is the path that leads to Eternal Life, and few there be that find it. The rest are ever learning but never able to come to the knowlege of Truth.

Hey, if the great Jerry Fall well can’t pull it off, how will a hack like Joyner?

This kind of mularky isn’t just for the charismatic wolf, it is there in the baptist wolf as well. Watch this and be amazed/sickened.

So Bob, you had a visit with an angel..

Gal 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

(Bob’s also part of the IHOP camp that promotes ‘the god within you’, that promotes Contemplative prayer, that promotes Catholic mystics, and other highly unusual and unbiblical teachings…) Bob, you need to understand that the gospel you are now promoting is one that is OTHER than the one that was preached to the church…

Bob, why was it you left IHOP? What have you done to correct the thing that made you leave? Where is the repentance/change in your behavior, Bob?

Because we can all laugh about the Banker angel and the stupidity of your messages, but in all seriousness, you have a serious problem, Bob.

…and what was that part about teachers having a stricter judgement, Bob?

I can see it now: “angel International Banker is called before the Senate finance Comittee to explain WHY blessings have not been made as available to poor people as they are to the “RICH”.
I know, this isn’t a political blog, and Chrystal, I hope that you don’t mind my one little joke.
Angels don’t interest me as much as the One who sends them to accomplish His will.
Amongst us former Charismatics, who else rmembers “The Happy Hunters” the husband and wife team which went gaga over angels? They couldn’t butter their toast in the morning without some angel handing them the marmalade. (kidding. barely) — Doug –

Hmm…international banker. Not so inspiring a title considering the fallout and crash of our economy. I think I prefer “minister of finance” it has much more class. For those truly desperate for a breakthrough in debt, our government offers a legal and relatively quick solution – bankruptcy. It may not be the wild ride of “breakthrough” that Toddie and Bobo promise, but it’s a sure thing. You won’t need to chant or stand on your head or listen to sheeka boom ba, just see an attorney. And 6 months later – BAM – you’re outta debt! More miraculous than gold dust! — Mkayla –

Let us not forget

Let us not forget the delusions and deceptions of the past, lest we be those who follow them.

I would ask you first to pay close attention to the music at the beginning, without watching the video. Ask yourselves if this music is not meant to manipulate the hearers into a frenzy. Sit under this long enough and you will be influenced to do anything and believe anything.

At about 28 seconds sound of hell: “I want a habitaaaaaation!” If this is not God screaming through TB, then who or what is it? It is some thing demanding a place to reside. Reminds me of the demons who were cast out by Jesus and they begged to be cast into swine.

Then we have the angel scene where TB is commanding angels to come down. Again, if God is not the one behind this, then who is and what is being called down?

At 1:49 a very sad picture of tired wife and children waiting upon TB to get his butt up and take them home! IF he wanted to pray, he is commanded to go inot his prayer closet.

Wife Shonna at 1:55 stumbling around. Did she know about the affair at that moment? Poor woman. Not that she is completely innocent, but perhaps she is. God knows.

At 2:17 Jessa tells that she was deceived part of the time. Which part would that be? And if she knew she was deceived, at what point is she willing to admit she was no longer deceived?

They are trying to make things “right” and because of that there are “consequences.” Really? What are the consequences when you have been able to get by with stealing the husband of another man, be endorsed by one of the leading ministries and go back to business as usual?

To compare themselves to David and Bathsheba is laughable. Tod Bentley is no where near the character and leader of King David.

Poor little things talk about how they are going to have to suffer the consequences of their actions. It cost him his “family,” his “minstry,” his “reputation.” Now he is making himself some kind of martyre. Disgusting!

Am I harsh? You bet I am. Am I judging? You better believe it. And some of you better start looking at some things too or you will be led further into the delusion these people are leading the church into!

Don’t ignore the Elephant in the Room!

Video below

I’m not impressed. I’m not impressed with the head shaking and the hissing that is suppose to be the Holy Spirit. That being said, I will move on.

Jessa Bentley had a dream about Oral Roberts and an elephant. She and Tod and the rest of those leaders in ths apostate movement would have us to believe that her words are to be taken seriously as coming from God. I say she is either a liar or delusional. Which in either case she is still a liar. You have to be a really good deceiver to be lusting for another man’s husband and no one know about it!

First off, she has no more right to be leading anything, than Tod. They both are not only adulterers that need to step down, but blatant liars and deceivers. If God is not the One using them (and He is not. If you have been able to see the occult all over this thing from the beginning, then you know what I am talking about) then who is using them? I say it is the devil, the great deceiver.

She says the elephant represents discernment. Really? Didn’t her discernment tell her that she was about to break up a marriage? That if she pursued her lusts for another man, she would destroy a family — stealing a man from his wife and robbing little children of their daddy?

Why should I trust her discernment?

What is happening here? Simple: the Occult and the gods of the New Age are entering the church!

When you stop and think about it, an elephant seems pretty fitting for a vision from this bunch. After all — from the very beginning — this whole charade has been nothing but a three ring circus! We have the tattoo man, clowns of every sort, and now ladies and gentlemen an elephant! What’s next? Fire eaters?

IF the elephant represents discernment, then I discern elephant dung all over this new move of this revival!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganesha says this about the elephant god, Ganesha:

First chakra

According to Kundalini yoga, Ganesha resides in the first chakra, called Muladhara (mūlādhāra). Mula means “original, main”; adhara means “base, foundation”. The muladhara chakra is the principle on which the manifestation or outward expansion of primordial Divine Force rests. This association is also attested to in the Ganapati Atharvashirsa. Courtright translates this passage as follows: “[O Ganesha,] You continually dwell in the sacral plexus at the base of the spine [mūlādhāra cakra].” Thus, Ganesha has a permanent abode in every being at the Muladhara. Ganesha holds, supports and guides all other chakras, thereby “governing the forces that propel the wheel of life.”

Ganesha is worshipped on many religious and secular occasions; especially at the beginning of ventures such as buying a vehicle or starting a business. [would a ministry be included in that?!] …Devotees believe that if Ganesha is propitiated, he grants success, prosperity and protection against adversity.

Ganesha is a non-sectarian deity, and Hindus of all denominations invoke him at the beginning of prayers, important undertakings, and religious ceremonies. Dancers and musicians, particularly in southern India, begin performances of arts such as the Bharatnatyam dance with a prayer to Ganesha. Mantras such as Om Shri Gaṇeshāya Namah (Om, salutation to the Illustrious Ganesha) are often used. One of the most famous mantras associated with Ganesha is Om Gaṃ Ganapataye Namah (Om, Gaṃ, Salutation to the Lord of Hosts).

…the god of transitions, he is placed at the doorway of many Hindu temples to keep out the unworthy.

…Ganesha is regarded as a remover of obstacles, the god of success.

Ganesha appears in Mahayana Buddhism, not only in the form of the Buddhist god Vināyaka, but also as a Hindu demon form with the same name… As the Buddhist god Vināyaka, he is often shown dancing… [Jessa said she saw the elephant dancing!] Other depictions show him as the Destroyer of Obstacles, sometimes dancing.

——————————————————————————————–

In the Hindu religion Ganesha is prayed to for good luck and success. He is the most widely worshipped deity. Any ceremony, religious or secular, begins with an invocation to Ganesha.Ganesha is the god of salvation, wisdom and prudence.

Todd Bentley – The Fake Healer

Concerning the man with the glass eye who said he could “see” out of it. He compared it to a light. When I worked with blind children, I asked a little girl who had been blind since the age of 8, if all was darkness. She said, “No, it is bright, like a light.”

Tod Bentley is a liar and a fake. If you are someone in need of prayer, do not waste your time chasing the likes of Tod Bentley. He has nothing to offer you but false hope. Does Jesus heal? Yes He does. Does He do miracles? Yes He does. But not through the likes of deceivers and fakes.

VinnieActs2030:

Todd Bentley could be assassinated? Yes, really. And it’s your fault

Article found here:

http://www.benedictionblogson.com/2010/01/09/todd-bentley-could-be-assassinated-yes-really/

I have been following Todd Bentley for about nine years now and what follows is quite brazen even to me. Evangelist Bentley, thanks to his print and internet critics, could be assassinated. Or so says Jesus, if we are to believe “prophet” Bob Jones.

Before you look for Sirhan B. Sirhan in the baptistry of the Morningstar facility where Todd Bentley is lauching his new, and probably unimproved, revival, I have to add that everyone is being quite serious about all this. The stench of this word, in my opinion, reeks. All this is  a bad, bad omen for those who were hoping and praying that Bentley was learning and repenting from his past mistakes.

Bob Jones, who is infamous for his past teaching and actions (please scroll down to the entry under his name here), was a guest at the Morningstar Church services on January 3. Todd Bentley and his new wife Jessa were called up to the stage by Jones, as he said that Jesus had a prophetic word for them. (Todd Bentley liked the word so much, that he posted it on his website a day or so ago. You can watch it if you like, but in case it disappears later, I’ll be quoting it extensively.)

I am grateful to the blogger at Slaughter of the Sheep who was able to transcribe the relevant parts of the word last night before I could get to it myself. Her own post has some great insights as well.

The transcript begins at about 2:30 of the video as put on Bentley’s website and continues until about the ten minute mark. I’ve double checked it, and this is correct.

[UPDATE: The relevant part is now up at YouTube as well.

Bob Jones is speaking unless otherwise noted:

(Supposedly Jesus speaking here.) “I want you to break curses.  I want you to break a curse off of Todd Bentley.  Because well-meaning christians have put a curse on him, and that’s leaving an opening for him to be assassinated.  Also, that curse is on everyone that protects him.  In other words, MorningStar has been bombarded by this same disgruntled-Christian curse, not knowing what they’re doing.  Take the curse off it.  This building’s been…a curse put on it…take that off.”  (This next part is Bob talking for himself.)  “A curse has the ability to make you sick, discouraged, divided.  All these things have got to end now.  So, one of the first things I want to do is if Todd and his wife come up here – by the way, this isn’t an option to me, this is a command.  It’s a lot different than an option.  Uh, the Lord would not have me take this off of Todd and his wife unless there was a major purpose there for them.  One thing about the curse, I’ll just warn you about this, any curse you put on somebody will return to you.  So, if you’re going to err, err on the side of grace.”  (Rick Joyner speaks now.) “He’s speaking of Christians cursing others too with their words.  There’s awesome power in these words.”  (Bob Jones speaking now.)  “Yes, there’s awesome power in his words.  The first one I’m going to break is …(laying hands on Todd and Jessa)… ”I break the curse, the spoken word over my brother and my sister.  (Todd and Jessa begin shaking or manifesting.) And now let this … good, here it’s coming… and now let this curse be broken, and let them begin to get the vision for their future, and the purpose of the future, in Jesus’s name.  Good?  There comes the wind, good, good, good, good, good, good (they’re still shaking) … there, feel the wind?  It’s blowing it away.  Good.  Good.   Now, let the spirit man, the conscience be cleaned…let it be cleaned… so that the relationship with the Holy Spirit again can begin in the right way, in Jesus name, amen.  And, let now a new gift come into Todd, let it be discernment of spirit on a level he’s never known before.  In Jesus name, amen.  (At this point Todd begins repeatedly saying, “shoo, shoo, shoo” and bobbing and shaking his head.)  Now, let this supernatural faith that dwells within, let it come again.  Let that supernatural faith come again, that creative supernatural faith, in Jesus name.  Good.  It’s done.  The sword is out.  I now void this disparity against Todd.  Rick, can you see how his face flashes on him now.  See, that glory is back on him again.  And, uh…good.  Just take that deep breath.  One more.  There he goes.  (Bentley staggers and chuckles.)

(Joyner interjects) "You see on that video, there should be smoke coming out of his [Bentley's] head. We’re gonna see more of that.”

(Todd and Jessa leave the stage and Bob Jones begins to speak again.)  “A spirit of infirmity is released through curses.  Most of the creative miracles I’ve done was breaking curses.  And I feel several infirmities here that are actually curses.  I feel lung infections, bronchial infections, sinus infections, uh, on these curses, you gotta learn to break them off of yourself, you don’t go along with this stuff.  Stomach, discouragement, disillusion, confusion, rejection, suicidal thoughts, all of that is coming because you’re being bombarded by the enemy.  And, I’m sorry to say but alot of this enemy is, uh, well-meaning Christians that think they’re doing God a favor by what they’re doing.  So, some of you that’s, uh, especially, that’s uh, had a pressure in your upper chest, like a heaviness, and a defeat on you, uh, lay your hands on yourself, because the main purpose of all of this is to get revelation for yourself again.  And, Bonnie has got a word that is really accurate here, but first what I want to do is break the curse off of Rick, for some of these major words that’s been spoken has been against you.  So, I break that off of you, and off of your mind, to where that anointing comes on your mind again, on the back of your head to where that it raises up again and we begin to hear those anointed words coming that’s got power in them, for it’s no longer time for the word, it’s time for power.  So, I break the curse off of this body in Jesus name.  I cast this curse down over each and every one of you.  I break the crown of the enemy he’s put on you… that’s… that pressure.  I release you in Jesus name.  And now let the curse be gone from this place.  Let it be gone, for it’s been holding back the breakthrough of the youth… let it now break through and let the youth now break through.  Uh, uh, it’s been, uh, uh, stopping your vision, your faith vision, the enemy’s been closing your eyes, now let your eyes open and let faith come again in you and let you get a faith for God’s purpose in your life from this time forth, in Jesus name….

——————————————————————————————

Lots to comment on, so I will just get started.

I wonder if this is a genuine word, or part of a PR spin, on behalf of Bentley. Jones comes and gives his impriatur and then, just last night (January 8), Mike Bickle of the other new revival at IHOP in Kansas City comes and gives his blessing. Sounds like Rick Joyner was busy getting Bentley’s ducks in order for him before Bentley’s new revival started.

The credulous will hear Bob Jones and think that Todd Bentley is about to launch a laudable, totally fine revival. After all, isn’t Satan hoping to get permission to kill Bentley? That means that Todd has gotta be on the right track, right? After all, this is “Jesus talking”.

I have some doubts. After all, the Bereans were commended (in Acts) for checking out what Paul taught in the Scriptures. And Jesus in the Bible also says to discern the value of things by their “fruit”. I doubt that Jesus would want Christians to dispense with a Bible-based critique done in an attempted spirit of being fair and responsible. This word from Jones discourages these valid things.

Does criticism really have the power to lead to Christian leaders being assassinated? If this were the case, this would be sadly rife in the body of Christ, wouldn’t it? Not a newsworthy exception.

If words are so magical, why did the apostle Paul criticize heretics by name? What about Christ’s criticism of the religious leaders of his day–those “white washed tombs”. Does this mean that Christ put a curse on the Pharisees, which would have lead to their death? (Jones implies that it is a sin for Christians to be rhetorically mean to Bentley, so does this logically mean that Christ sinned too? This would clearly be ridiculous, so there must be a way for Christians to justly critique.)

Does Satan really want to kill Todd Bentley? In a general way, I would concede that Satan might want Bentley dead–but if we look at things in a theologically orthodox way, the devil might be pleased by some of the things that have happened around Bentley and hope that they happen again. (Christ’s remark that it doesn’t make sense for the devil to work against his own purposes comes to mind.)

Personally, I think that God still wants to be gracious to Todd Bentley and allow him to mend his ways. (This does not imply that he should minister.) This is not impossible–just ask Jim Bakker. It should go without saying that I wish him no harm, but the fact that I need to point this out in the face of Jones’ word implies that something is amiss.

The Jones word is designed to intimidate people from looking at what is happening at Fort Mill now. Even Bentley’s friends admit that not all that happened at Lakeland was great. We need to check the fruit of the Joyner-Bentley restoration process. Did Todd learn from Lakeland? Did the restoration process work? Better not publicly wonder that, or else it’s Lee Harvey Oswald time.

If God forbid, Bentley does get hurt, I wonder if Jones wants to plant the idea that Bentley’s critics have created “a climate of hate” that led to this happening. This sort of thing can and does lead to censorship. Or God forbid, an idea that the sniper was inspired to do his deed by a Bentley critic.

(The skittish might decide that in order to make sure that Bentley remains safe, they in turn should remain silent. And that would be a shame.)

This word is handy for Bentley in another way too. It could be a reason to ban the secular and Christian media from covering Bentley and this new revival. Bentley “needs iron-clad” security and can’t allow anyone who could be even critical near him because we have a prophetic word that there is an assassin out there. Reporters won’t be allowed because criticism leads  to a “curse” leading to you know what. Who knows, a gun could be hidden in that TV camera too.

Bentley has sort of prepared the way for this by complaining in his restoration videos that he spent a lot of time “dealing with the media.” at Lakeland. That really wasn’t the case, of course, but it will be a handy reason to not allow reporters nearby.

If you look at the Bible, you’ll recall that Jesus and Paul weren’t afraid of anyone. They faced real threats, not “prophetic ones”, but they faced their critics squarely.

Carrying on to the word itself…

It’s interesting the Jones says that Morningstar itself is under a curse for sheltering Todd. This is not good, as it discourages the Morningstar officials from looking at what they are doing and seeing whether they are making any mistakes. They might then, courtesy of this word, continue to make these mistakes, and wind up hurting the innocent people who are involved with Morningstar.

Jones goes on to say that he has been commanded by Jesus to break the curse over Todd and Jessa Bentley. “The Lord would not have me take this off of Todd and his wife unless there was a major purpose there for them.”

You are intended to think that the Fort Mill revival is part of the “major purpose”. The Fort Mill revival has been pre-approved by God? How handy.

The word also begs the question of what “major purpose” is. You imply that it is evangelism, as this is what Bentley wants to do for a living. Is it? You could infer by Lakeland crashing that perhaps Bentley should try another line of work. What if Bentley is to open a pizza parlor or do something important behind the scenes? There’s not really room for this sort of speculation in this word.

Bob Jones prays for the Bentleys. “Now let the spirit man, the conscience be cleaned….so that the relationship with the Holy Spirit can begin in the right way…”

This is the sort of language that implies that this is something that has not been done and needs to be done. Uh-oh, Bob Jones is off the page. Hasn’t this been happening already, courtesy of Rick Joyner, in that long and extensive restoration process? Wasn’t the entire idea that Bentkey would not return to ministry until he was ready? Well, I think that Bob Jones has mislaid his copy of the script.

Jones prays that Bentley finds his “vision for the future”. Uh, didn’t Todd get his “calling” over 10 years ago with his various visions, as documented in Bentley’s books, that Bentley would be a world famous evangelist? Bob Jones is tossing Bentley under the bus by not going along with Todd’s arguments that he is to return to what he was doing before. Bentley already is supposed to have a vision and prayers led by “god” need to match up with that, or either Bentley or Jones is winging it.

It’s also not helpful for Jones to imply that if you are sick that it is the fault of other Christians, not you taking care of yourself. That is, obviously, wrong. I can imagine people in Jones’ audience attributing their sickness to a “curse” when actually there are physical reasons that should be addressed. I hope that no one really gets sick from listening to Jones.

His prayer for Rick Joyner is interesting too. “….what I want to do is break the curse off of Rick, for some of these major words that’s been spoken has been against you.  So, I break that off of you, and off of your mind, to where that anointing comes on your mind again, on the back of your head to where that it raises up again and we begin to hear those anointed words coming that’s got power in them, for it’s no longer time for the word, it’s time for power….” It’s “no longer time for the word [of God]…should set off alarms.

So Rick Joyner needs to have the “anointing” on his mind again? Well, what was the state of his mind when he was restoring Todd Bentley? What was the state of his mind, for example, when he took an entire video to criticize the media and also the spritual walk and status of Charisma’s Lee Grady after the latter became dismayed with Bentley being restored to ministry too quickly? Was Joyner not wise or godly then? Jones is praying as if Joyner might not have been…and is working without a net again.

The blogger at Slaughter of the Sheep adds some interesting comments of her own. Did you know that Bob Jones has prophetic sneakers? I’ll let her explain.

I have the feeling that whatever happens with Bentley at Fort Mill will rise and fall faster than events at Lakeland. Secular reporters, and even many Christian ones, will say to themselves, “I’ve done this Bentley story before…” So, it is important for many of us who watch and comment on Bentley to do what we are able to, lest he fly under the radar this time. There’s room for everyone.

I think that we’ll need to run a zone defense, if that applies to blogging.

Warning to “Apostles”

With the tatto man (Tod Bentley) and circus starting back up, I have posted the following in regard to all the hype and tripe that went on right before God exposed him.

Following article written by Andrew Strom gotten here:

http://mkayla.wordpress.com/2010/02/25/warning-to-the-apostles-andrew-strom/

(I would also say here, hop on over to Mkaylas Korner and read the comments. All of them shed light on the subject.)

I received this warning from Andrew Strom in my e-mail this morning. Another ditto to those who do the same work in exposing these false apostles, prophets and teachers of the NAR and Manifest Sons. So for those who go in the same way, walk out.

WARNING to THE “APOSTLES”
-Andrew Strom.

An Open Letter to Peter Wagner, Dutch Sheets & Other “Apostles”.

I recently received a report of a new “Apostolic Network” headed up by Dutch Sheets which held a gathering in Florida last week to “carve up” territories for it’s ‘apostles’, etc.  (link here -added by M’Kayla)

I need to put in writing what I believe the Lord would say to these men.

But first I need to remind us all of something. On June 23rd, 2008, a group of “apostles and prophets” under Peter Wagner’s headship stood on a stage in Lakeland at the Todd Bentley revival – to lay on hands and commission him, etc. But it was far more than that. Peter Wagner called it an “apostolic alignment.” He made the following statement before all the TV cameras and all the people:

“I take the apostolic authority that God has given me and I decree to Todd Bentley:
-Your power will increase.
-Your authority will increase.
-Your favor will increase.
-Your influence will increase.
-Your revelation will increase.
I also decree that:
-A new supernatural strength will flow through this ministry.
-A new life force will penetrate this move of God…”

Onlookers might have thought that Wagner was ‘prophesying’ the above statements. But actually what he felt he was doing was “decreeing” these things over Todd – since he was the ‘head apostle’. In a letter the following day, Wagner called this a “groundbreaking event” and stated that, “We are now in a place in what I see as the Second Apostolic Age…” (In other words, a “new era” of real apostles).

So how did that work out for you, Peter? Well, literally within weeks we found out that many of the “miracles” at Lakeland had no foundation, and then Todd Bentley’s wife separated from him apparently over an affair he was having – and the entire ‘revival’ fell to pieces in the worst way possible. That’s how it worked out.

All the big Charismatic leaders that had stood on that stage hardly knew what to do with themselves – they were so embarrassed. And none more so than Peter Wagner – after making an “Apostolic decree” like that. -Probably the most colossal disaster of his life.

So who pulled the rug out from under your “apostolic alignment”, Peter? I need to tell you that there are two responsible parties. One is ‘yourself’ – clearly. And the second is GOD – because He is now pitted against you and your so-called “apostles”. He is the one who did this to you.

You and your friends have presumed to an office and a place over the Body that is simply not yours, and God is in the process of taking you ‘apostles’ down – and all your “networks” with you.

Dutch Sheets – can I ask you please, what gives you the right to carve up the Body of Christ in North America and parcel it out like McDonald’s franchises to all your buddies so they can be ‘apostles’ over their own “territory”? Do you have any idea what you are playing with? Don’t you know that if your buddies are not real New Testament Apostles then all they are doing is painting huge targets on themselves and begging for the judgment of God?
How dare you treat the Body of Christ like a piece of Real Estate that you can carve up for your own aggrandizement?

Because of men like you, God is about to judge the leadership of the church. Do they call themselves an “apostle”? Well, God is going to put them to the test. If they are not the real thing, they make themselves His ‘enemy’ because they are blocking His real Reformation. Every self-proclaimed “apostle and prophet” is about to be put to the test. Oh, you call your group an “Apostolic Council of Elders” or something similar? Expect God to come calling, and if you are not the real thing, expect Him to take you down. The Lord God is coming to take back His church with great violence. And you guys are standing directly in His way.

I’ve heard that one of these big “apostles” in Canada once told his network that their “apostle-ness” would be judged by the ‘noses and nickels’ that they represented. (In other words, their “numbers”
and their reaping of money). Hmmmm. If I didn’t know better, I would call those the words of a hireling and a wolf.

As Lee Grady wrote about this ‘Apostle-Mania’:
“In some circles apostles demanded total allegiance from the leaders who were “under” them. Some required a policy of “tithing up,” creating a monstrous organizational structure similar to a spiritual Amway. So-called apostles with huge “downlines” made exorbitant amounts of money. One leader even offered pastors the opportunity to become “spiritual sons” by contributing $1,000 a month to his ministry.”

And yet here is what the TRUE apostle Paul wrote: “I think that God has set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death… we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place… we are made as the filth of the world, and are the off scouring of all things…” (1 Cor 4:9-13).

Now THAT is true apostleship. Tell me, Mr. Modern Apostle, do you match up to the New Testament apostles? If not, what on earth do you think God is going to do to you if you claim that title falsely?

I believe that many true Apostles, when they do arise, will simply REFUSE to carry such titles in any way. They will “minimize” themselves, not exalt themselves. That is the heart of a true leader of God.

In closing, let me again warn those who have titled themselves “apostle” or ‘prophet’ in the modern church. God is coming to “clean house” and if you are not the real deal, expect Him to start with you. It is as simple as that. You need to repent urgently of your utter presumption. You have been warned.

Send feedback to- prophetic@revivalschool.com

God bless you all.

Andrew Strom.

The Unfair “Persecution” Of Todd Bentley

I am not worthy to tie the shoes of those in this video who are being beaten for their faith in Jesus! Neither is Tod Bentley who is not fit to be called an evangelist, a revivalist or/and an annointed man of God!

Tod Bentley, a liar and a deceiver.

On persecution: “I’m surprised we haven’t had more.”

First you have to be actually preaching the gospel in order to get any of the REAL persecution. Which the church in America has yet to know because she is too busy following the likes of Tod Bentley and other fakes!

“Pretty exciting. I feel the glory.”

Really? Ask those who have been beaten half to death if they “feel the glory” such as you proclaim, Tod Bentley!

“I feel the annointing.”

The only annointing TB has is from his father, the devil. Compared to those lying in the streets getting their life kicked out of them, TB has NOTHING to offer anyone.

“Wow, that’s pretty exciting. We’re creating some history.”

Such a high regard of himself. He is being used to help bring in anti-christ. The real history makers are those who do not see the gospel as some game — a means to an end.

“We got the best security in the world, don’t worry.”

“Sow your best seed.”

Yes, by all means give it to Tod and Jessa. Help him pay his child support. When you support a wolf you deserve to have it stolen from you!

Bride of Christ, can you still not see the difference between the tares and the wheat — the sheep and the wolves?

Here’s a hint: The sheep are the ones who lay bleeding in the streets for the real Jesus, while the false preacher stands and entertains his sheeple with great and abomnible lies in the name of a false jesus he has created!

Part 1: Todd Bentley, Fires of Kundalini and the Demon Samael

One of the best articles on Tod Bentley I have found. Gotten here:

http://www.deceptionbytes.com/Todd-Bentleys-Fire-of-Kundalini

I just finished reading Todd Bentleys, three part series Angelic Hosts. It is seriously one of the most disturbing and dangerous things I have ever read. It seems that the more I prayerfully look into Todd Bentley the deeper I am led into his dark world of Gnosticism, mysticism, and the occult.  My prayer for you is that you will honestly examine the things he teaches and the manifestations present in his ministry in the light of scripture.

In Todd Bentley’s Article Angelic Hosts Bentley issues the invitation to eat from the Tree of Life. “I see angels bringing some of you to the tree of life. Remember how God, in Genesis 3:24, sent the cherubim to guard the way to the tree of life because man had sinned. God took Adam and Eve out of the garden. But today the Lord wants to bring some of us into that place where we taste the fruit of the tree of life. I want you to get involved right now and say:
Father, please give us that fruit. Lord let those angels bring us right into the place where you have prepared a table for us in the presence of our enemies. Give us the divine life that comes from that tree so we can taste and see that the Lord is good. Angelic Hosts, Todd Bentley. Fresh Fire Ministries

Now let’s compare this with GOD’s word.

Genesis 2:15-17 (NKJV)
Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Genesis 3
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”
13 And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
22Then the LORD God said, Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
So we see in scripture that God has placed an Angel at the east of garden to guard against ANYONE eating of this tree lest they should live forever.
Bentley seems to be a frequent guest of Patricia King’s ”Extreme Prophetic”  Televsion show. On one of these occasions he described a face to face encounter with Jesus. Not a vision- no- he claims he had a face to face encounter! Jesus steps out of heaven and comes to Todd as a man- interesting. Does Todd fall on his face and worship Jesus? No. Todd also claims that Jesus had ten rainbows emanating from him. (You can view this video here: http://www.deceptionbytes.com/Todd-Bentley-New-Age-Christ
Now if you recall, at the beginning of the Florida Outpouring, Todd claimed that God had requested that he lay hands on everyone present for ten nights of special transfer- (I mean impartation). If you look very deeply into Todd Bentley,  you will find he has a fondness for the number ten. Is there any significance to the number ten? Ask anyone with knowledgeable of the occult. and they will tell you.  Let’s go deeper.
Just as the tree of life has significance to the Christian through what it signifies in the book of Genesis, so too does it have significance to mystics and occultists. Manly P. Hall, in, The Secret Teachings of All Ages, writes, “…the Tree of Life is the appointed symbol of the Mysteries and by partaking of its fruit man attains immortality.”
Nevill Drury, in his Dictionary of Mysticism and the Occult, claims that “The occult Tree of Life is a path in which the initiate—the occult student—discovers and experiences the “inner light” (also called the “inner Christ”). It is a system of spiritual doctrines which opens up the mind and the soul to a new level of understanding—“salvation comes from within.”
Below is a picture of the cultic or Kabalic Tree of Life. Let’s look at what it symbolizes
TheTree of Life is an arrangement of ten interconnected circles or spheres (called sephiroth) which represent the central organizational system of the Jewish Kabalistic tradition. (Kabala is a mystical interpretation of the Torah (Hebrew Bible), and claims insight into divine nature.)
According to Wikipedia, each sephirah (circle or sphere)  is considered to be an emanation of the divine energy (often described as ‘the divine light’) which ever flows from the unmanifest, through Kether( Kether is the top circle or sphere)  into manifestation. This flow of light is indicated by the lightning flash (see illustration) which passes through each sephirah in turn according to their enumerations.
So we see that each circle or (sephirah) is a center of divine energy and each has a number of attributes. The path between them is called the lightening path. The lightning flash of the Tree of Life is a flash that zigzags down from Kether (the crown) through the ten spheres to Malkuth (the kingdom). This is what occultist’s mystics, Gnostics and kabbalists refer to when they refer to the tree of life.

Part 2: Tod Bentley, Fires of Kundalini and the Demon Samael

Now let’s look at Kundalini and then we will  begin to tie some things together. Kundalini is an ancient occult practice with its roots in India. It involves bodily manifestations as a consequence to the ‘Awakening of an individual’s Kundalini’, and is related to several other occultist practices. You don’t have to deviate too far to notice the express relationship between Kundalini, Chakras, the Tree of Life/Kabbalah and higher occultist practices
Listen to how the website biologyofkundalini.com describes this Kundalini power. While Kundalini is active we ignite (ignite is also incidentally the name of the church where the Florida Healing Revival was touched off) those around us simply with our presence with a power that works directly from body to body, heart to heart–like a contagion.
Now keep in mind that Todd wad instructed to lay hands on everyone present in his meetings for ten nights of special impartation. He described this transferable “anointing” as the most contagious he had ever experienced.
The following excerpt was taken from newchristian.org.uk: and is referring to a gentleman’s uneasy feeling toward Bentley.
“The one other very worrying statement I heard him make that evening was this: “I used to feel the anointing in my hand; now I feel it in my spine.” His mention of the spine rang bells in my memory, so I did a search on Google and found that the KUNDALINI (demonic) snake/serpent spirit is acknowledged by KUNDALINI devotees as taking up residence in the spine. Given that the main emphasis of Todd’s ministry at Lakeland is the impartation of “the fire” to other countries, churches and ministries around the world, makes this “impartation” aspect one of great concern, lest another spirit is involved.”
Now let’s look at the following common manifestations of the risen Kundalini in occult practices.
  • Muscle twitches, cramps or spasms.
  • Energy rushes or immense electricity circulating the body
  •  Itching, vibrating, prickling, tingling, stinging or crawling sensations
  •  Intense heat or cold
  • Involuntary bodily movements,  jerking, tremors, shaking; feeling an inner force pushing one into postures or moving one’s body in unusual ways.
  • Alterations in eating and sleeping patterns
  • Episodes of extreme hyperactivity or, conversely, overwhelming fatigue
  • Intensified or diminished sexual desires
  • Headaches, pressures within the skull
  • Racing heartbeat, pains in the chest
  • Digestive system problems
  • Numbness or pain in the limbs (particularly the left foot and leg)
  • Pains and blockages anywhere; often in the back and neck
  • Emotional outbursts; rapid mood shifts; seemingly unprovoked or excessive episodes of grief, fear, rage, depression
  • Spontaneous vocalizations (including laughing and weeping) — are as unintentional and uncontrollable as hiccoughs
  • Hearing an inner sound or sounds, classically described as a flute, drum, waterfall, birds singing, bees buzzing but which may also sound like roaring, whooshing, or thunderous noises or like ringing in the ears.
  • Mental confusion; difficulty concentrating
  • Altered states of consciousness: heightened awareness; spontaneous trance states; mystical experiences (if the individual’s prior belief system is too threatened by these, they can lead to bouts of psychosis or self-grandiosity)
  • Heat, strange activity, and/or blissful sensations in the head, particularly in the crown area.
Now let us compare it to some of the common symptoms as related on the website newchristian.org.uk
”These are the effects that I have witnessed on people who have attended this movement and either have had hands laid on them or claim to have been imparted with “the spirit”:
  • They come back with this kind of childlike drunken stupor.
  • Descriptions of a burning sensation either in their veins, heads or stomachs.
  • Descriptions of being washed back and forth like the waves in the ocean;
  • Dancing about like drunk…
  •  Inappropriate yelling and screaming like they’re at a football game;
  • Young men whistling over and over and holding their heads and  claiming that they “feel the Holy Spirit about to split them in two”;
  • One young man’s back two teeth turned completely too some metalic finish
  •  People with their eyes rolled in the back of their heads and weaving around like they’re lost.
  • Women just gyrating and pulsating like they’re being ravaged from behind from some unseen force.
  • Drunken uncontrollable laughter in the middle of a solemn prayer time.
  • People being “slain in the spirit”… just falling down and being  unable to move (like something’s holding them down)…”
According to the website “enlightened beings” the most important thing to know and remain aware of, is that a Kundalini Awakening contains the most unbelievable expanded states of  reality, enlightenment, and absolute ecstasy.  Not to mention that you’ve just befriended the greatest healing energy available inside you and extremely contagious to all human beings.
Wow- this occultist website is describing the Kundalini awakening as the greatest healing energy available AND extremely contagious. Sound familiar?
This website goes on to explain that a Kundalini awakening can be an experience that feels like the greatest blessing in the entire world, or the worst curse you have ever encountered.  It simply depends on one thing.  Whether you know that you are an infinite soul that will never die, OR you still believe you are this physical non-spiritual mortal body.  Your perspective is everything when it comes to a million watts of energy pouring through you.  The bigger and more inclusive your perspective is on each experience, the easier it will be for your body mind to accept the Kundalini.
So in essence they are saying that we have to KNOW that we are an infinite soul who will never die to make it easy for the mind body to accept the Kundalini. How can we know this? By partaking of the tree of life of course. Remember Todd’s words?
Father, please give us that fruit. Lord let those angels bring us right into the place where you have prepared a table for us in the presence of our enemies. Give us the divine life that comes from that tree so we can taste and see that the Lord is good.  Angelic Hosts Todd Bentley. Fresh Fire Ministries
So why does Todd Bentley insist on laying hands on everyone present in his meetings even when they number in the thousands (which by the way would exhaust the very strongest among us)? Because he needs to lay hands on to transfer the power or energy. This power or energy in the occult is called the shakipat. “Shakti”means power or energy, and “pat” means transfer.  Kundalini awakening or (shaktipat) is the infusion of energy from the spiritual master to the seeker, bringing about the awakening of the seeker’s own inherent spiritual power, called “Kundalini.”
According to inplainsite.com  “Few Christians realize that for thousands of years gurus have operated with gifts of healing, miracles, gifts of knowledge, and intense displays of spiritual consciousness as they stretch out and connect with a cosmic power which, though demonic in origin, is very real. The meetings which mystic Hindu gurus hold are called ‘Darshan’. At these meetings devotees go forward to receive spiritual experience from a touch by the open palm of the hand, often to the forehead, by the guru in what is known as the Shakti Pat or divine touch. The raising of the spiritual experience is called raising Kundalini……
After a period when the devotee has reached a certain spiritual elevation they begin to shake, jerk, or hop or squirm uncontrollably, sometimes breaking into uncontrolled animal noises or laughter as they reach an ecstatic high. These manifestations are called ‘Kriyas’. Devotees sometimes roar like lions and show all kinds of physical signs during this period. Often devotees move on to higher states of spiritual consciousness and become inert physically and appear to slip into unconsciousness when they lose sense of what is happening around them. This state is called ‘Samadhi’ and it leads to a deeper spiritual experience.’
For a dramatic illustration view the following this is being done under the guise of the Holy Spirit even though we have no biblical precedent for these kinds of manifestations see video Holy Ghost or Kundalini. http://www.deceptionbytes.com/HolySpirit-or-Kundalini

Part 3: Todd Bentley, Fires of Kundalini and the Demon Samael

http://www.deceptionbytes.com/Todd-Bentleys-Fire-of-Kundalini

The following is an account of what took place in one professor’s life when an assistant to Swami Muktanada ran a peacock feather across the “third eye” in the center of his forehead.
“I saw a bolt of lightning, like a pyramid of light. I began literally bouncing off the floor and trembling. I cried. I felt tremendous energy, love, and joy. What I had experienced, I later learned, had been ‘shaktipat or spiritual awakening of Kundalini energy inside me…” [Professor Michael Ray, Stanford Graduate School of Business]
In the occult or kabbalist tradition Samael or Samuel is an angel and is also referred to as the Peacock Angel  (thus the peacock feather) or the Angel of Death.  The third eye according to Wikipedia is the gate that leads within to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. In New Age spirituality, the third eye may alternately symbolize a state of enlightenment or the evocation of mental images having deeply-personal spiritual or psychological significance. The third eye is often associated with visions, clairvoyance, precognition, and out-of-body experiences, and people who have allegedly developed the capacity to use their third eyes are sometimes known as seers.  It is sometimes symbolized by a flaming eye. Interesting enough Bentley has a large flaming eye tattooed on his left arm. A tattoo by the way that he got about a year ago, well after his “conversion”.
Now I want to show you something that was taken from Todd Bentleys Angelic Hosts article and written in his own words.
”These throne-room realities began to be revealed to me in the meeting in Iowa as I gave thanks to God for the angelic beings. I made a conscious effort to remember that angels are in the spirit realm (why did he have to make a conscious effort to remember that they were in the spirit realm- people who encountered Angels in scripture certainly never had to remind themselves they were in the presence of angels- they were terrified) As soon as I did that, throughout the service people were caught up into prophetic experiences. People in the service either saw a vision, heard heaven or smelt, touched, felt or had some kind of supernatural experience. Many people literally began to see the same open-eyed vision while others began to have different visions. It didn’t matter whether the lights were on or off or whether people’s eyes were open or closed.”
Bentley goes on to say that  “Even unsaved people in the meeting who were into Transcendental Meditation began to see the lightning’s of God manifest in the physical realm. They saw lightning bolts zip across the room for two and a half hours. (Did these unsaved people fall on their faces and worship God? If they did Todd never tells us about it). The congregation began to freak out. This prophetic download went on until 11:30 that night. It was the kind of thing you read about in the old Maria Woodworth-Etter meetings. (Maria Woodworth-Etter is possibly the source for many of the aberrant doctrines taken up by the New Order of the Latter Rain in the late1940′s)Children coming into the service began to see angels. People began to scream out, “I’m in a trance and Jesus is coming to me” or others, all at the same time, would shout, “We are in a garden.” (hmmm..what Garden would that be?)Then I would see a lightening bolt and shout out, “Did you see it?” In response, many others would yell, “I saw it!” The lightnings of God were manifesting. The meeting became pandemonium for two and a half hours. Then the Lord spoke to me about the thunder and lightning which proceed from the throne. I said, “Do you know where we are right now guys? We are in the throne room.”
Bentley then states that “In retrospect, I realize that the only thing to get us into the throne room was my conscious decision to think about what it looked like in the heavenlies at that moment in the service. I had also begun to acknowledge the angelic realm.  (Did you catch Todd states that the only thing that got them into this throne room to and to experience this lightening was his conscious decision. He just thought about it and they were there). So it appears that there is something about the angelic host that brings spiritual experiences. Are you ready for these types of experiences today?!” (Umm… no)
Now let’s take a look at the Angel Samuel or Samael as it relates to Todd Bentleys “ministry”. The following was taken from a book of the occult entitled, The Great Encyclopedia of Angels: The Truth about Angels, by Aryella Jupiter.
Samael is The Angel of Death as known in Jewish lore, and The Peacock Angel (Tavas Malakh). He is the sovereign of the 6th Heaven and the Underworld. Samael seems to have a very ambiguous role, where on one side he is known to be the brightest light of all heavens, and on other side he is responsible to oversee the punishment of the iniquitous and the Underworld. He is the one who inspire and empowers the secret societies, especially Illuminati. He is 6’6″ tall with long straight white hair two inches below shoulders (formerly golden blond,) baby blue eyes and gorgeous features.
Now remember that, this angel has blonde hair, blue eyes, shoulder length blonde hair and is gorgeous. Now lets look at Bentleys description of one of the angels that visit him (taken from Bentley’s article, Angelic Hosts) I had another angel come to me looking like he was about 6′ 4″ tall with 24″ biceps. He was cut with rippling muscles and wore a golden sash about his waist. He had blond, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes-the hunk of hunks. We are talking better than Fabio, OK.
Wikipedia describes Samael as follows:  Samael (also Samael) is an important archangel in Talmudic and post-Talmudic lore, as well as Christian tradition and demonology.  He is viewed as the evil Angel of Death. He is a prince of demons and a magician. He was a guardian angel of Esau and a patron of the sinful empire of Rome. Samael is sometimes considered to be the true angelic name of Satan. The etymology of his name is sometimes thought to be a combination of ‘Sam’, meaning “poison/venom”, and ‘el’, meaning “of God”; thus he is the “poison of God”.
Now let us view this knowledge in light of the following statement Todd makes in Angelic Hosts. “Recently, I had an angel come to me in Kansas City. He said, “Todd, my name is Promise, and I’ve come to bring the fulfillment of God’s promises. I’ve come to bring the fulfillment of the prophetic words spoken to intercessors. I have come for those who have been like Hannah-they have prayed, waited and carried a promise in their hearts. There will come a time when God has heard and I will release the Samuel,”
According to Satanic theology it was Azazel, also known as Samael (“Venomous God”), who tempted Adam and Eve with the Fruit of Knowledge in the form of a serpent. He was also the one who inspired the people of Babel to make the technological feat of building their Tower. It was by teaching these various forbidden arts and by inspiring humanity to “reach for the stars” and take control of their environments that Azazel had fallen out of favor with the Abrahamic deity (God).
So in light of all of this I ask you the following. Do you really want to partake of the fruit of the Tree of Life this side of heaven? Do you want to experience the “fire” of this impartation with all its manifestations? Do you really want to have dealings with Todd’s angels? It is amazing to me that people will cling to the argument that if people are being healed it must be God. Kundalini is cultic but is said be one of the greatest healing forces. Remember the magicians in Moses day were able to replicate most of the miracles Moses performed. People again and again say -”but look at the fruit- fruit is fruit right”? I refuse to eat the fruit of a poisonous plant no matter how “hungry” I am.
Jerimiah 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
Mathew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mathew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if [it were] possible, even the elect.
2Cr 11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness
Carl Teichrib , a researcher on world religions sums it up beautifully, “The bottom line is this: the quest for the mystical Tree of Life is simply the desire to take the Garden of Eden by force, tear down whatever barriers stand in the way of its fruit, and by man’s own hand taste immortality. The result will be catastrophic for the individual who, through the occult and the works of magic, attempts to gain “everlasting life” outside of God’s prescribed way—“the way and the truth and the life”—Jesus Christ.

A greater delusion is coming at some point. Do not forget what we saw happen at Lakeland with the apostacy unfolding before our very eyes. If you are looking towards Tod Bentley, RUN! Flee from the likes of the rebellion, deceit and witchcraft in this man.

Rick Joyner – No Grace for Grady

I realize this thing between Lee Grady and Rick Joyner happened a while back — unless a new event occured between them — but with Tod Bentley on the rise again, I think it needs to be known that Rick Joyner, is infatuated with TB and still endorses him. Joyner calls everyone else into accountability but NEVER yet has held TB accountable for the lies and heresies he taught. Truly it is a hypocrisy in the most highest and manipulative way.

Part 2: What Tod Bentley has in common with Jim Jones

http://toddbentleyjimjones.blogspot.com/2008_07_23_archive.html

In addition to the fact that the Voice of Healing Revival provided a theatrical means for Jim Jones to build his following in the People’s Temple, it also produced two very dangerous heretical movements which are infiltrating Christianity to this day. These two movements are the Latter Rain Movement and the Word of Faith Movement. Bentley, like Jim Jones has quite obviously been influenced by the theatrical show of the movement- thus taking it to an entirely new level. He has also been influenced by both movements as clearly seen when looking into his preaching!

The Word of Faith Movement gained its popularity through the ministry of Oral Roberts- who had his ministry launched to success through the Voice of Healing Movement in the 1940′s. The basic heretical teaching of the movement is that faith is a force which is put into motion by our words. God himself is bound by the force of our words. For example, if I were to say I am a millionaire- God would be bound by the my words to make me a millionaire.

While most churches that would have to be termed Word of Faith do not claim such, their teachings reflect it. One thing the Word of Faith Movement has done effectively is have a statement of faith consistent with church history on the essentials so that they can make it look like they are within the realm of Orthodox Christianity. From an examination of the teachings taught from the actual pulpit- it is apparent that such a statement of faith is nothing more than a means of window-dressing. 2 Peter 2:1 we are warned that there will be false prophets among us that will secretly introduce destructive heresies. Whereas most cults will tell you straight up what they believe in a statement of faith, the Word of Faith Movement sugarcoats it by giving it to you in bits and pieces. Most of the controversial and heretical statements are spoken from the pulpit. Statements like the following: “Satan conquered Jesus on the cross.” “Jesus had to pay a ransom to Satan in order to purchase our atonement.” “We are little gods.” “The Trinity is composed of nine persons.” Word of Faith teachers include teleevangelists like Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin (whose movement Bentley is a part of), Robert Tilton, TD Jakes, Joel Osteen, Morrus Cerillo, Creflo Dollar, Paul and Jan Crouch, Jesse Duplantis, Eddie Long, Richard and Oral Roberts, Marilyn Hickey, and David Yonggi Cho among many others too numerous to name. Most of them can be seen on TBN or the Inspiration Network.

While TBN and INSP showcase many Word of Faith teachers, GodTV highlights teachers of the Latter Rain Movement like Rodney Howard-Browne, Patricia King, Rick Joyner, Mike Bickle, Bob Jones etc. Much like the Word of Faith Movement, you will very rarely find a church that actually claims to be Latter Rain. Most churches like Morningstar Ministries in Rock Hill, S.C. have a statement of faith as a means of window-dressing but is contradicted or expanded upon if you take the time to listen to the actual preaching and teaching.

The Latter Rain Movement is not much different than other cult that has existed throughout history. Its teachers claim that the church has been in an apostate state for years and that they are called to restore the church to perfect truth by means of their prophecies and revelations in order to pave the way for the return of Christ who will come once the church is perfected. Though the teaching appears new, like most heresies it actually has its origins in the first few centuries of the church when a heretical teacher named Montanus proclaimed himself as the prophet sent for the End to restore the church to all truth.

The primary heretical teachings of the Latter Rain Movement are the tangible anointing, the Restoration of the Tabernacle of David, and the Manifest Sons of God doctrine. The idea that the anointing is tangible is the driving force behind the success of revivals like the Pensacola Outpouring, the Toronto Blessing, and currently the Florida Healing Outpouring. That is why people feel that they have to go to these places in order to receive a special touch from God. In truth I John 2:20 tells us that the anointing of the Holy Spirit abides withus from the beginning of our salvation and therefore is not something that can be touched or transferred.

The Restoration of the Tabernacle of David teaches that there is a perfect form of worship which will lead us into perfection. In places like Morningstar, Mike Bickle’s International House of Prayer, and the Florida Healing revival- this form of worship is used with much repetition of the choruses. In actuality, it is more like a chant than anything else- thus imitating the worship of Eastern/New Age Religions. That is not such a surprise these days since we see someone like Bentley claiming New Age practices under the banner of the Christian faith. The New Age invasion of Christianity has long been attempted but never has it been so successful as with Bentley. In the same way that the Socialist message in America was attempted long before Jim Jones, but was never used to gain such a huge following in the way that he did before he led 918 people to drink koolaid laced with cyanide in the greatest mass cult suicide in history.

Finally, the Latter Rain Movement teaches that instead of Christ returning in glory- he is actually waiting for the church to become perfect so that he can literally incarnate his body in the form of the corporate church. This is the manifest Sons of God doctrine. None of these teachings come out directly in a statement of faith but there is clear evidence of them in the reading of the leaders’ books and bulletins. In The Final Quest, Rick Joyner for instance states that the whole Christian community is about to be consumed by a bloody Civil War. He uses such a statement to validate that there will be a new way of worship and ministry to replace the old. While methods change throughout history, God’s word must remain as supreme authority. In the teachings and practices of the Latter Rain Movement- it clearly has not. As an example to show how Joyner often departs from his window-dressed statement of faith there are a couple of quotes he has made in which he says that Jesus was not a man, but rather a spirit. Such a teaching was the basis of the cult of Gnosticism from which the writings of Nag Hammadi (including the Gospel of Thomas emerged).

Recently in defense of Bentley’s frequent experiences with angels, Rick Joyner posted a Q & A bulletin in which he stated “The Bible talks about angels far more than anyone. Having encounters with angels is more normal than not having them. Some people I think are concerned because they are not having encounters themselves. Biblically the lack of encounters with angels should be more of a concern than having encounters with them.” In other words according to Joyner, if you are not having encounters with angels- there must be something spiritually wrong with you. I am currently looking into the teachings of Gnosticism as I think that idea is consistent with the teachings of Gnosticism. I will verify as soon as I have more information.

Both of the above movements are a very dangerous shift away from historical Christianity. Looking at them now, I get a good chuckle. I am reminded of a time when I myself had to come out of some of the darkness I have written about here. It is very dangerous. This ideology threatens Christianity’s foundation in the same way that Communism/Socialism did 50 years ago. Now a leader like Todd Bentley who holds to the beliefs of these two movements has gained popularity and notoriety with many followers who would die for his cause. In much the same way that many followers were willing to die for the cause of Jim Jones. That is why we must beware and we must warn everyone about this dark and deadly deception.

Part 1: What Tod Bentley has in common with Jim Jones

Following article gotten here:

http://toddbentleyjimjones.blogspot.com/2008/07/voice-of-healing-movement.html

Both Jim Jones and Todd Bentley were influenced by the Latter Rain Movement which sprung forth from the Voice of Healing revival that took place in the 1940′s. The leaders of this Voice of Healing revival were William Branham A.A. Allen, Jack Coe, Oral Roberts. There were other leaders like O.L. Jaggers who as mentioned before laid hands upon and pronounced over Jim Jones a very special prophetic ministry. However, the four listed above are the most prominent of the movement.

In Branham (whose mantle and angel Bentley claims), we find very dangerous doctrines like a denial of the Trinity, the teaching that Eve had sex with the serpent and from that union Cain was conceived, further taught that God gave man 3 books (Zodiac, pyramid, and Bible), believed that he was Elijah returned, also the latter day angel to the church of Laoidecea, and prophesied that by 1977 the rapture would take place. Branham was notorious for his ability to discern the details of people’s lives. He would call out these details as they came up on stage and he prayed for them. We know that years later Jim Jones had creative ways of learning info about people before services so that he could use the same tactics. I’m not sure if the same was true of Branham. We have seen in recent history in teleevangelist Peter Popoff exposed for having a mic in his ear to assist with his “words of knowledge.” After Branham’s death in a car accident in 1965, his followers waited by his gravesite for one week convinced that he would rise from the dead. However, it never happened. Yet, today there is a cult built around William Branham called the Branhamites who believe that “He was the greatest prophet that ever lived.”

While Branham was known for words of knowledge, Jack Coe was known for picking people up out of wheelchairs to try to convince them they were healed. If they fell, he would say that it was because they did not have enough faith. Coe warned there was a coming a day that anyone who went to see a physician would have to take the mark of the beast. However, when he himself came down deathly sick- he would take the mark of the beast and consult a doctor. He died of bolbar polio at 38 years old. When he died, O.L. Jaggers (who would later lay hands on Jim Jones) tried to convince his wife Juanita that he could raise Jack from the dead. Juanita declined to accept Jaggers’ offer. Jaggers offered this because he claimed that God had revealed to him the formula for how to attain physical immortality in this world.

A.A. Allen was known as “God’s man of faith and healing power.” Allen’s healing services looked more like a sideshow. He was most known for his “ability” to build the faith of the crowd in order to see someone healed. I watched this personally on the God’s Generals video series compiled by Roberts Liardon. Allen taught that God had given him the ability to turn $1 bills into $20 bills. He was of one the first ministers to promise financial blessing to those who gave to his ministry. In 1955, Allen was arrested for drunk driving in Tennessee. After the arrest, he was stripped of his credentials with the Assemblies of God (AoG). After being stripped of his credentials, Allen would play the role of martyr claiming that he was knocked unconscious and framed by men who poured alcohol down his throat. Many followers bought Allen’s alibi, and his ministry continued. However he died in 1969 with cirrhosis of the liver, and was found to be drinking yet again on the night that he died as he had a high level of blood alcohol content.

I have yet to watch a video on Jaco Coe. However, I have seen the videos on William Branham and A.A. Allen. Allen’s video especially appears to be more of a theatrical sideshow than anything else. I am convinced that that is what he was was nothing than a theatrical sideshow. The video I watched looked too staged for me to believe that it was real. Branham on video appeared humble, but he himself claimed some outrageous stories like a tree talking to him to confirm his calling. I’m not saying that that is impossible, but we must test things in light of scripture. We know that Branham taught dangerous doctrines and therefore we must call into question the claims of his supernatural enccounters. If he did indeed have supernatural encounters, the bad fruit of false doctrine which spread from his ministry must make us question the source of those encounters.

I’m not disputing that some people did get healed in the meetings of the above men. However, healing does not validate a ministry as being from God. Jesus verifies that in Matthew 7:22-23 when he says “There are many who will say to me on that day ‘Lord, Lord did we not drive out demons in your name and in your name perform many miracles’ and I will say to them ‘Away from me, you evildoers, I never knew you.’

The theatrics seen in the Voice of Healing Revival Movement impressed a young 24 year old pastor, Jim Jones, who later used the same theatrics in order to build his following at the People’s Temple which as I have mentioned eventually led to the death of 918 people in the greatest mass cult suicide in history. Years later, we see Todd Bentley using the same theatrics and taking them even further than we could have ever imagined. I am hoping the day never comes that he says, “God told me we must all drink koolaid laced with cyanide if we want revival to break out.” But given the extent to which he has already gone with his violent ministry claims, it is sadly not that unlikely that he would indeed go that far- and people would still believe him.

The Voice of Healing Movement is also where Oral Roberts got his start in ministry in the 1940′s. I do not have much information on his involvement other than the fact that it did launch him to success in ministry. Oral Roberts is a prosperity preacher and one of the main figures in the Word of Faith Movement which sprung forth out of the Voice of Healing Movement. Roberts is notorious for his claim in 1987 that he needed to raise $8 million in three months are God was going to bring an end to his life. I remember watching that as an 8 year old little boy.

As noted, the Word of Faith Movement sprung forth from the Voice of Healing Movement. Most of the preachers on TBN are a part of that movement. The Word of Faith Movement did not seem to miss a beat even in the midst of the controversy of the Voice of Healing leaders. It has dominated our television screens for years. On the other hand, the Latter Rain Movement which also was a product of the Voice of Healing Movement all but vanished for a couple of decades before being revived in the 1980′s.

In my next post, I will detail in specific the dangerous doctrines of both the Latter Rain Movement and the Word of Faith Movement as I trace their history from the 1940′s to the present. I will also provide a list of ministers currently on your tv screen that hold to the teachings of these movements.

Tod Bentley = Anton Lavey Look-a-like

Thank you to the person that let me know I had posted the wrong video earlier. Please accept my sincere apologies. This here is the correct video of Tod Bentley looking like a modern day Anton Lavey or Uncle Fester from the Adams family:

In a video that can be seen here for the moment:

http://www.freshfireusa.com/

we can see Tod Bently once again with two flames behind his bald head, dressed up in black looking like an Anton LaVey Wannabee.

Notice his eyes and then tell me what you see. Listen to him talk and tell me what you hear with his fake preacher accent. Watch for the micro-second smiles that shout, “I’m a fake and you people don’t have a clue.”

Bride of Christ, this is what will help bring in the anti-christ. This apostate, fake, phoney compromising, rebellious, ungodly, fornicating, adultress, tatooed-let’s-look-like-the-world-so-we-can-save-them bunch who believe themselves to be the eletists in the Church.

The Truth of Tod Bentley’s Roots

Compiled By S. E. Ray

Canadian Todd Bentley doesn’t look like a minister as some would expect. The 32-year-old openly sports body piercings and tattoos on his arms and neck, which has caused many to question his purpose and motivations.

On April 2, 2008, Bentley was invited by Stephen Strader, pastor of Ignited Church, Lakeland, Florida, to lead a one-week revival. The revival quickly became a religious and media phenomenon, attracting up to 10,000 attendees nightly. It continued after the first week. In addition to showcasing Bentley’s evangelism, the revival features colorful light shows and power-chord Christian rock music.

The Ignited Church quickly hired A New York public relations firm to send out press releases claiming “documented healings.” Information and webcasts were made available via their website and the revival is streamed live via stream – which received over 1 million hits in the first five weeks of transmissions. After the initial weeks, GOD TV, a religious satellite channel, decided to pre-empt its primetime programming and broadcast the Lakeland meetings nightly.

Stepping back to 1998, the FreshFire Ministry Group asked Bentley to give his testimony at one of their weekly meetings. Soon after, Bentley took over the leadership of the group, which became more of a revival movement. He works with and/or otherwise promotes Patricia King of Extreme Prophetic, and he is also very close to aberrant Kansas City prophet Bob Jones, supports Rick Joyner, as well as such churches as the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. Todd Bentley’s neo-Pentecostalism is Latter Rain influenced and Bentley now claims to have William Branham’s ministry angels helping him.

To understanding Todd Bentley’s origin of power, one must understand the genealogy from which it sprang. William Branham was born in Berksville, Kentucky, in dire poverty. At the age of 5, he heard “A Voice” who directed him to abstain from coffee, smoking and alcohol. This disembodied Voice was later given credit for his unusual healing powers by William himself. William Branham was fascinated with the Zodiac and Egyptian occultism as his mentor was occultist Franklin Hall. Branham’s obsession with the occult is evident even in his death: his grave is marked by a Masonic occult pyramid atop his grave.

He taught his “Serpent Seed” doctrines in the 1950′s, of how Eve had intercourse with the Serpent, and all the seed from Cain are predestined for hell. He even called the handsome serpent the missing link between man and monkey. Branham later declared himself the angel of Rev. 3:13 and 10:7 and prophesied that in 1977, all denominations would be consumed by the Roman Catholics, the rapture would take place and the world would end. Before his death in 1965, his occult healing spirit was transferred to hundreds by the laying on of hands. These people include almost all the major names who operated as “healing” evangelists during that time, and who are still at work today. They took Branham’s mantle through the period known as the Latter Rain, endued by the power of his demonic occult entity. William lived his life in fear and acted under a compulsive-type behavior associated with his life-long demonic oppression.

William Branham is an important figure in modern day charismatic, Pentecostal, and emerging church circles. The reason is that not just his latter rain theology, but also his “spirit”, and (allegedly) his ministering “angels” have been passed onto a new generation of prophets. A “badge” of elitism and favor in the new prophetic movement are those who can boast of having met or seen Branham’s angel. Testimonies to these angelic encounters are included on Todd Bentley’s website. Paul Cain, closely linked with William Branham, as well as claiming he works directly with Branham’s angels in a similar manner to Branham. It is he who passed the power onto John Wimber and his Vineyard with the prophetic spirit which in turn infected the multi denominational wider church through the Toronto Blessing.

The beginnings of the prophetic movement goes back many decades. In the 40′s there was a flurry of activity. Between 1947 and 1957, the so-called “Healing Revival” led by Oral Roberts, T.L. Osborn, A.A. Allen, Jack Coe, and Orval Jaggers enveloped America often with large tent campaigns. William Branham was the central figure in this era. But he also became a catalyst for the contemporary Pentecostal Movement we call the Latter-Rain. It appeared in Canada and was given the blessing of Branham who actually laid hands on the Canadian leaders of the Latter-Rain. The Latter-Rain had developed an entirely new end-time teaching of “salvation history.” The Latter Rain is where the so-called ‘Toronto Blessing’ began. The movement is characterized by a plethora of unorthodox teachings and questionable practices — encouraged and promoted by alleged ‘words,’ ‘prophecies’ and ‘visions’ from God, and accompanied by anything from outbreaks of uncontrollable laughter, people acting as if they were drunk, and claims of having received gold dust or other ’supernatural signs’ from God. Bentley’s teachings and practices place his ministry squarely among the controversial renewal and revival movements.

Another figure in the healing movement who was to have a profound impact on the development of the “healing tradition” or movement within Pentecostalism and, by implication, the Charismatic movement, was Mariah Woodworth-Etter. She was a forerunner of people like Aimee Semple Macpherson, Kathryn Kuhlmann, Oral Roberts, Paul Cain, and scores of other Pentecostals and Charismatic’s who have the so called “anointing”. Woodworth-Etter was no ordinary “woman preacher.” Indeed, the argument can be made that her powers, which were potent and real, bore more resemblance to those acquired by the Shamans and Magicians of primitive cultures, who are able, on occasion, to wield tremendous preternatural powers; such powers can be executed even over certain geographical regions. People being “struck down along the highways,” who happened to be in the vicinity of this woman does not testify to her being anointed by the power of the Holy Spirit, but more likely to the fact that she was able, through the power of suggestion, manipulation, or diabolical intervention to project power. Woodworth-Etter, as is well documented, would preach to Quakers, Mormons, and Universalists. She primarly considered scripture secondary to her gifts, which is the primary marker of a cult mentality. “Trance Evangelist” like Woodworth-Etter, as well meaning as they may have been, precipitated a different gospel by confusing the seeking after “power” with the following of Jesus.

Paul Cain met the leadership of the Kansas City prophets in 1990 led by Mike Bickle. Bickle, Jones and others in Kansas City, received him as their “spiritual father” and he was recognized as the chief among all the prophets. At this point the Vineyard movement, led by the late John Wimber, stepped in and took Bickle’s church and the prophets into the Vineyard movement. Not long after this the Toronto Vineyard church introduced the world to the “Toronto Blessing” with all it’s strange phenomena. Bob Jones, a controversial Kansas City prophet, Jim Goll, Rick Joyner, and John Paul Jackson, now Vineyard prophets, endorsed the Toronto phenomenon. Later there was a cross-fertilization (their term) with similar movements linking others with this orbit, including C. Peter Wagner and his apostles and prophets of the New Apostolic Reformation, who include Cindy Jacobs, Dutch Sheets, Chuck Pierce, Ted Haggard, and others.

Michael Horton, who wrote “The Agony of Deceit,” which documents fraud among televangelists, said at an interview, “I have not yet encountered a ‘faith healer’ who failed to preach a different gospel than the one that we find clearly presented in the New Testament.” Many of the faithful are understandably grieved by this bold resurfacing of Apostolic/Third Wave/Latter Rain teaching, which is a mix of New Age teachings and altered Pentecostal methodologies.

Even those sympathetic to Pentecostal theology are apprehensive. Mark Balmer, pastor of the 8,000-person Calvary Church in nearby Melbourne, FL, received so many questions about Bentley that he finally spoke up. He said he believes “in all the gifts for today, including healing.” He also asserted: “We are not heresy hunters.” He nonetheless told his congregation “not to attend this counterfeit revival.” Lee Grady of Charisma magazine said “Charismatic and Pentecostal leaders are divided over its legitimacy.”

As background information, Todd Bentley is relatively a new Christian with no formal training or experience in the exposition of scripture. Bentley openly acknowledges the rougher parts of his juvenile past, including his near-fatal drug overdoses, criminal burglaries, assault, physical abuse of his mother and several stints in prison. In 2001, an article in a secular, conservative political magazine called The Report, prompted a mother to reveal about his molesting her 7 year old boy when Todd was 14. Bentley admitted to The Report “I was involved in a sexual-assault ring.” Lieutenant Jeff Johnston, a Salvation Army pastor in Port Alberni, B.C said “It’s one thing to be forgiving, it’s another thing to be stupid,” Lieut. Johnston says. “If you, as a pastor, had someone in your church ministry who had been involved in these things and they ever re-offended, the fact that you knew and didn’t disclose it to parents, take every precaution, would be a huge liability issue.” Christians realize that a soul can be saved by grace from any sin, however he personally claims that he was demon possessed after having been born-again, which poses a problem considering his self-acclaimed position.

A visit to one of Bentley’s services suggests that he knows how to turn the big crowds into big money. ATM machines were set up alongside food booths, providing attendees with readily available cash for the offering plate and book purchases. At Todd’s revivals, he sells “anointed” handkerchiefs, and takes money from people so that he may pray over them. This is normal with the people on the Elijah list, who believe God condones taking money from people so that they can prophesy over them.

Todd wrote on the etpv.org website in 2003 “Now let me talk about an angelic experience with Emma. Twice Bob Jones asked me about this angel that was in Kansas City in 1980: “Todd, have you ever seen the angel by the name of Emma?” He asked me as if he expected that this angel was appearing to me. Surprised, I said, “Bob, who is Emma?” He told me that Emma was the angel that helped birth and start the whole prophetic movement in Kansas City in the 1980s. She was a mothering-type angel that helped nurture the prophetic as it broke out. Within a few weeks of Bob asking me about Emma, I was in a service in Beulah, North Dakota. In the middle of the service I was in conversation with Ivan and another person when in walks Emma. As I stared at the angel with open eyes, the Lord said, “Here’s Emma.” I’m not kidding. She floated a couple of inches off the floor. It was almost like Kathryn Khulman in those old videos when she wore a white dress and looked like she was gliding across the platform. Emma appeared beautiful and young-about 22 years old-but she was old at the same time. She seemed to carry the wisdom, virtue and grace of Proverbs 31 on her life.”

Without any exception that I have found, every questionable spiritual movement is marked by intervening Angels giving guidance, not necessarily God’s Word or the Holy Spirit of Truth. Muhammad, Joseph Smith, Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda, Jerry and Esther Hicks, Rhonda Byrne, Helen Schucman, JZ Knight… the list is long for those who are popular and have spirit guides from the fallen realm. Bob Jones and Todd Bentley and their spirit guide “Emma” are no different. Todd attributes his “miracles” according to his own testimony, is from an angel that he says is called “Emma”. It should be interesting to note, in the book of angels, Emma (Imma Ila’ah, feminine, in the Kabbalah) means “Embrace Everything.” Also closely related, another name used is “Emma-O“, which in Japanese mythology means “King of Hell” or Satan.

Todd’s progressive “body suit,” which is a term for a complete body tattoo, is covered with Japanese symbols, occultism and Christian depictions. Shown in this photo is the warrior Apollo, who in mythology and alchemy, his spiritual and symbolic significance is identical with that of the sun. The spreading golden hairs which crown the god’s head have the same meaning as the bow and arrow (sun rays). The Greek name for Apollo is Apollon, which means ‘from the depths of the lion”. Apollon was the great Olympian god of prophecy, oracles, healing, and the aversion of plague and general harm. He is also call Apollyon in scripture, or Hebrew “Abaddon” (Rev. 9:11) also identified as the king of the demonic “locusts” described in Rev. 9:3-10. The locust was a delivery method of this god, who poisoned his victims. Why would Todd choose to embellish a fierce god of destruction on his body?

One of the tattoos that have puzzled people are the three large Japanese Kanji symbols on his left arm. Eternal Path turned to expert Takanori Tomita, a native speaker of Japanese and fluent in English, who translates Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana Symbols. Kanji are ideographic characters. Each Kanji character represents an entire object, idea, or meaning in a visual character(s). Many Kanji characters are similar to each other, and some can have different meanings depending on context. The first letter on Todd’s arm means DAI=Big or Great, the middle one EI=Protect or Defend, the last one OU=King or Monarch. In Japanese, DAIOU is often added to provide honor to the subject of mention. In proper order, it would seem to read “Protect Great King,” however not only is the order wrong, but the character in the middle is incorrectly rendered. Furthermore, even if the middle character is used at the top, there’s no such word combination like “Protect the Great King”. It doesn’t make any sense in Japanese even if the order of the characters are corrected and the middle character is properly written. It is not unusual for Western tattoo translations to be in error. The middle symbol does not represent the Chinese character “David” in this context, as is widely speculated.

Alex Mizuno, another individual versed in Japanese tradition and writing styles, who produces Japanese documentaries, revealed that there is a Japanese word “Emma Daioh” which means “Emma, the Great King”, which is used very commonly in his culture. This God is sometimes simply called “Emma-sama (sama is added for respect)” or “Emma.” Buddhists recognize Emma-sama as Yama, who rules the spirits of the dead in Naraku (hell). He said Todd’s erred tattoo was in favor of the latter translation. The tongues of flame accenting the Kanji symbols also support his position depicting the god of Naraku.

After Todd’s alleged conversion, he had tattooed under his arm a depiction of Jesus’ crucified upside-down face with a subliminal monkey in the beard. Above the tip of the head, is a tattoo of what is said to be Oni, a “Buddhist guardian devil” of Hell. An argument is lifted up against Todd’s ongoing tattoo additions. Under the old law, it was written:”You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:28. Even though Christian’s are not under the law to fulfill righteousness, as they are saved by grace, they are to uphold it (Romans 3:31). The question has been asked, why does Todd continue to add graffiti to his body in opposition to the Biblical standard?

The leaders of this revival in question have fruits that should be examined. For example, Bob Jones “was removed from the Vineyard Anaheim because of sexual improprieties, which consisted of encouraging women to undress in his office so they could stand ‘naked before the Lord’ in order to receive a ‘word.’” I am sure as a man; he was moved by pure motivations. Todd “Bam” Bentley runs and kicks people in the stomach with metastatic stage IV colon cancer while ignoring children lined up in wheelchairs, who hope in vain that the revival is real and they might get healed. Instead people leave in a hypnotic state from the charismatic frenzy. Similar events are plaguing Asia, thanks to the West’s influence (video – video).

Some attendees speak of new oppressions and those who purported to be healed from a malignant condition die shortly thereafter anyway. It has been questioned by some critics of Todd’s ministry, all Biblical divine healings lasted for the rest of the person’s natural life, why doesn’t his? Todd and those serving with him claim documentation to support numerious healings, 50,000 in 90 days, however when pressed by Geraldo Rivera on FoxNews (video) and ABC Nightline (P1 – P2), nothing has been provided to date, despite Todd’s promise to reveal proof.

In Jesus’ time, healings were not debated over as if they were legitimate. It was undeniable and plainly evident to all, skeptics and believers alike. In Matthew 11:5, Jesus was recording as responding to John the Baptists question “Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?” Christ responded, “The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.” No regenerative miracles are evident at Todd’s revival, despite his claims, however some non-regenerative type healings are reported.

How does one explain minor healings if there is in fact a question regarding the authenticity of Todd’s manifestations? We are warned explicitly in Scripture that the devil transforms himself into an angel of light”, and that in the last days will come ‘Lying signs and wonders’ that will “deceive if possible the very elect.” Paranormal healing has been in existence in the world since the creation, performed by shaman and faith healers. It is the oldest healing art. But the problem with this type of healing is that it is a lying wonder and opens the door to demonic influence, demonization, even possession. A lying wonder is not necessarily a false wonder or false miracle, but it is, more importantly, a miracle claimed to be from God but whose source is really from the realm of darkness. This type of healing leads the person into bondage to the enemy, symptoms that some recipients have reporting under Todd’s revival.

Rev. Jeff White, a pastor at a local Missionary church in Lakeland, heard so much talk about Todd Bentley and the revival tent that he wanted to see it for himself. He struggled with what he saw. “I’ve had to fight skepticism and cynicism because I truly believe that God heals. I really believe his powers are real and it is for today,” White said. “I can’t say that my spirit enters in and joins in with some of the things we’ve seen here tonight.”

Attaining a trance-like state as many do at these revivals, doesn’t immediately reveal anything about the origin of the manifestation. Every spiritual manifestation can have one of three different origins (divine, demonic or human). The discerning of spirits is necessary to identify the origin. Because the same manifestation, like falling down and shaking violently or tongues for example, can be caused either by God’s Spirit, by a demonic influence or merely by the person’s own propagations. Trances, prophetic ecstasy and manifestations are expounded from both the Old and New Testament. Interesting occurrences of ecstasy can be found in the biblical stories of Adam, Abraham, David and Saul, Daniel, Peter, and Paul.

Undisputedly, there have been revivals in Europe and other parts of the world since the Early Church. A very long time before John Wesley, Jonathan Edwards, Smith Wigglesworth or the Pentecostal awakening, Europe has experienced the gifts of the Holy Spirit, healing, deliverance, manifestations of the Holy Spirit. The gifts and manifestations of the Holy Spirit have been present non-stop since the Apostles. Church history clearly reveals this fact. However, a believer must be wise as a serpent, but gentle as a dove regarding the testimony of the leaders of such movements, comparing their words and actions to the Word of God. We are to test all things and hold fast to what is good.

Much of what is touted as Spiritual anointing by the charismatics is merely the awakening of the Kundalini by means of ancient occult methods. Kundalini is a well known occult practice, deriving its origin from India. It involves bodily manifestations as a consequence to the ‘Awakening of the Kundalini.’ This is not a mystical fabrication or belief system, but a practice that is strongly promoted by the New Age Movement (2006 Article Here). The Kundalini awakening does contain the most unbelievable expanded states of reality, enlightenment, and absolute ecstasy and it is extremely contagious. However, like crack stimulates dopamine, a Kundalini awakening opens wide a person’s spiritual core, removing safeguards placed by the Creator. The end results can traumatize one’s spiritual fabric, leaving a soul scarred for life.

At the beginning of the Florida Outpouring, Todd claimed that God had requested that he lay hands on everyone present for ten nights of special transfer or impartation. This power in the occult is called the shaktipat. “Shakti” means power or energy, and “pat” means transfer. Kundalini awakening or (shaktipat) is the infusion of energy from the spiritual master to the seeker, bringing about the awakening of the seeker’s own inherent spiritual power, called “Kundalini.” Todd described this transferable “anointing” as the most contagious he had ever experienced. He said “I used to feel the anointing in my hand; now I feel it in my spine.” It is true that the occult Kundalini awakening does indeed start in the lower spine.

The meetings which mystic Hindu gurus hold are called ‘Darshan’. At these meetings devotees go forward to receive spiritual experience from a touch by the open palm of the hand, often to the forehead, by the guru in what is known as the Shakti Pat or divine touch. In a group setting, the transfer of this power will spread like fire to all in attendance who are mentally open and receive the touch which results in all manner of physical manifestations. Involuntary bodily movements; jerking, tremors, shaking; spontaneous vocalizations; burning sensation; sounds in the head; confusion and stupor; gyrating and pulsating; or when slain, unable to move. These manifestations are called ‘Kriyas’ by the Hindus. Often devotees move on to higher states of spiritual consciousness and become inert physically and appear to slip into unconscious stupor. This state is called ‘Samadhi’ and it leads to a deeper spiritual experience. The Buddhist suttas mention that samadhi practitioners may develop supernormal powers that can lead to very uncomfortable occult manifestations.

There will be many false workers, or many “Who are called by His name”, but very few will be genuinely authentic, this is just the facts (Matthew 7:22). The anointed servant are those who work without seeking recognition or fanfare as Christ and the Apostles humbly served. The Holy Spirit filled doesn’t seek fame, recognition, money and may never be known, such is the humble and contrite of heart. Those of the Pharisee spirit, egocentric and endued by principalities and powers, seek an exuberant audience, accolades, affirmation, financial gain and make a spectacle of the precious gifts of God like a side show circus. Those given to the extreme charismatic (emotional or fleshly) bent are susceptible prey to these types of leaders, whereas such is the power of hypnotic manipulation through the drone of their voice.

Let us stop for a moment and ponder, least we forget, “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints.” 1 Cor. 14:33. The Lord told Elijah to stand on the mountain “Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face…” 1 Kings 19:11-13. God’s spirit does not reside in chaos or the dramatic shaking of the physical, His Spirit dwells in the quiet, gentle, calm, and peaceful.

A. W. Tozer sums it up perfectly in his normal etiquette and precision: “Many tender-minded Christians fear to sin against love by daring to inquire into anything that comes wearing the cloak of Christianity and breathing the name of Jesus. They dare not examine the credentials of the latest prophet to hit their town lest they be guilty of rejecting something which may be of God. They timidly remember how the Pharisees refused to accept Christ when He came, and they do not want to be caught in the same snare, so they either reserve judgment or shut their eyes and accept everything without question. This is supposed to indicate a high degree of spirituality. But in sober fact it indicates no such thing. It may indeed be evidence of the absence of the Holy Spirit. Gullibility is not synonymous with spirituality. Faith is not a mental habit leading its possessor to open his mouth and swallow everything that has about it the color of the supernatural. Faith keeps its heart open to whatever is of God, and rejects everything that is not of God, however wonderful it may be. Try the spirits is a command of the Holy Spirit to the Church. We may sin as certainly by approving the spurious as by rejecting the genuine. And the current habit of refusing to take sides is not the way to avoid the question. To appraise things with a heart of love and then to act on the results is an obligation resting upon every Christian in the world. And the more as we see the day approaching.”

I have the following on another post, but have put it here for easier and speedier reading. It bears repeating.

“I actually live about 45 minutes away from Lakeland, FL where Todd Bentley has set up his camp. Though I did not see him personally, I went just yesterday to Ignited Church that he is connected with. I visited a 10 am service that occurs daily, and there were probably 1,000 people there. Keep in mind that I am a worship leader/young adult pastor at a large non-denominational church, and consider myself a charismatic with a seatbelt on. I do believe in the spiritual gifts, including tongues, prophecy (which I have), and miracles or healing. I prayed to God to let me have an open mind, and for His Holy Spirit to guide me in worship and also in discernment. As I entered the lobby/ cafe area I noticed something right away: No one greeted me and there were no crosses or anything that made me feel like I was at a Christian church. As I walked into the main worship area (that had no hint of anything Christian) the music had just begun and was very hypnotic, building up with chants in tongues by the worship leader and his other vocalists. Right away I felt like I was at a Hindu, Buddhist, or New Age meeting. It was creepy to say the least. Again I prayed to God to help me have an open mind, but I was very distracted by people speaking in a deluge of tongues, and dancing around through the rows of seats. The music went on for about an hour, with the worship leader laughing and jerking uncontrollably, and chanting in tongues between singing and playing a piano. A man then came on stage to introduce a prophetess who was to bring a message from God, a prophecy that she had been given for the church. She immediately began by speaking in tongues, and calling down the glory of God into the room. By this time the congregation had been worked into a frenzy from an hour of hypnotic music and babbling tongues, and was crying out and shaking, and laughing, and crying, and screaming, and dancing, it was all going crazy at once. Again I tried to pray and ask God to help me have an open mind and discernment. It was tough to hear God, to feel God through all the chaos…but then the Spirit quickened a word to me. He reminded me of what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 14 about orderly worship. It was then that I left that “church” building as quickly as possible…”

“Eternal Path, thank you for the honest and correct discernment about the Lakeland Revival. I know all of these people you have mentioned and you are very correct. I laid hands on Baptist pastors Wes and Stacy Campbell for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit of which they and their leadership received. Shortly after, they joined a Vineyard church where they began to get involved in all the stuff they are currently into. I have watched these people become more and more deceived and have humbly approached them about it. They want nothing to do with me anymore. Todd was a baby Christian with a testimony when he went into full time ministry. After being touched by Todd and Bob Jones, young people have become oppressed by demon spirits which torment them with intense fear. I have had to pray over and lay hands on a number young people in spiritual bondage. It required deliverance of their minds and a healing of their souls that had been opened up to the evil spiritual realm. I have preached against these antics for years now and have endured much persecution. Bob Jones is said to astral travel into women’s closed rooms when they are undressing. I have had several come to me with that traumatic experience. I could go on and on, but I just want to say “Thank You” for speaking truth and know that you are in my prayers. Some of these people are dangerous, they are known to sending evil curses against those who oppose them, Bob Jones in particular. He has mentored Todd and most of the others also. They became spiritually damaged after traveling with him. Stick to your message and let’s pray that God will bring a true revival of Jesus, the cross, holiness, and repentance to the USA. Thank you for your comments about William Branham. I always discerned his gifts as false, coming from familiar spirits and healing demons. I am 70 years old and have watched this movement grow and grow over the last 40 years. You have been raised up by God for such a time as this. For so long, I did not hear a voice but mine in opposition to this deception, now I am hearing many and you are one. Thank You!”

Pastor Jon Speed:

As of August 2008, the Canadian preacher announced the end of his visits to Lakeland, he told his staff that his marriage is ending. Without blaming the pace of the revival for Bentley’s personal problems, his board released a public statement saying that he and his wife, Shonnah, are separating. The news shocked Bentley’s adoring fans and saddened those who have questioned his credibility since the Lakeland movement erupted in early April 2008. One can only pray that Bentley responds humbly to a process of stepping out of ministry for a season of rehabilitation.

We are weathering an unprecedented season of moral failure and spiritual compromise in our nation today. Those in they way of discerning faith still believe that God desires to visit our nation in supernatural power. We know He wants to heal multitudes, and we must continue to pray for a healing revival to sweep across the United States. But we must contend for the genuine, not an imitation. True revival will be accompanied by brokenness, humility, reverence and repentance—not the arrogance, showmanship and empty hype that often was on display in Lakeland. Let’s pray that God will turn this embarrassing debacle into an opportunity for miraculous restoration.

“Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” Psalm 119:104

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15

“At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time.” Matthew 24:23-25

“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:4

“But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.” 1 Timothy 4:1

“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.” 2 Peter 2:1-3

“I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.” Acts 20:29-30

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.” Colossians 2:8, 18-19
