Recently I saw a bumper sticker I hope was a joke. It said, “Who needs God? We’ve got Congress.”

Whether or not the bumper sticker was meant to be humorous, the sad fact is America has largely supplanted God with government. Or at least we’re moving steadily in that direction.

You see, when we looked to God to provide our needs, we knew He was unlikely to hand us a loaf of bread on a silver platter. The best we could hope for was the weather to stay fine so our wheat could grow to maturity; that the combine wouldn’t break down during harvest; that the truck didn’t stall while transporting the wheat to the mill; and that the supply chain didn’t falter while getting the ground flour to the grocery store so the housewife could buy the flour to make bread for her family’s dinner.

In other words, when we trusted in God, we worked hard to provide what we needed. But when we trust in government, we demand that it give us our daily bread. For free. Whether we’ve worked for it or not. After all, isn’t bread a right? 

One of the things that irks me about the attitude of progressives is the endless list of “rights” they manufacture out of thin air. They claim we have the “right” to food, housing, medical care, education, employment, abortion, etc. But here’s the distinction between true rights and false rights: True rights do not cost anyone else.

True rights derive from God, and those rights grant us the freedom and liberty to pursue our needs free from government interference and restrictions (within the bounds of the founding documents). False rights mean we point guns at people and force them to provide us with food, housing, medical care, education, employment, abortion, etc., at their expense.

Naturally this doesn’t mean there won’t be dumb people who do dumb things. Someone will always shoot themselves in the foot (literally). In the past when citizens knew their rights, our response was: “Well, he was an idiot to shoot himself in the foot. Maybe he learned a lesson.” Now we say, “Well, he was an idiot to shoot himself in the foot. We need to ban firearms so no one else ever shoots himself in the foot.”

In other words, in an effort to protect citizens from the occasional idiot, we legislate everyone. We allow emotionalism to become policy. The government loves that. It wants to protect us. It wants to grant us the “rights” of food, medical care and education. But make no mistake, the only reason the government is such an enthusiastic provider of “rights” is so it can become our master.

As government ascends in importance, the need for God retreats. We no longer beseech the Almighty for help in achieving our goals. Instead, we turn to Congress to provide us with whatever we don’t want to bother achieving on our own

Americans have come to believe everything should be “fair” and all playing fields should be level. But of course when government tries to impose fairness on us, it results in a profoundly unfair redistribution of our labor, resources and income. (“Spreading the wealth” is the current term.)

And because we’ve allowed emotionalism to become policy, we’ve become a nation of victims. It’s much easier to whine about our “rights” and claim that others are responsible for providing us with the things we “deserve” than it is to work for those things ourselves.

When we implore God to provide us with a place to live, we don’t expect a mighty celestial hand to drop a house key in front of us. Instead, we work our butts off at our job, save money for a down payment, keep our credit history clean and pray these efforts will convince a banker to loan us the money to buy a house.

But when government replaces God, we claim housing is a “right” that should be provided to us regardless of our efforts or worthiness to own that house. We expect and demand immediate fulfillment.

In other words, when the achievement of happiness takes the place of the pursuit of happiness – when we demand that the government make everything “fair” – then that government has replaced God.

But what, a progressive may ask, is wrong with that? Why not look to our government to provide us with our food, housing, medical care and education?

Consider this quote from Christine Smith: “We thrive when we work for what we achieve rather than having it given to us. The foundations which made this nation strong are being destroyed as families lose economic independence, send their children to failing government schools, and pay taxes for programs that destroy personal autonomy and wreak havoc worldwide. And as people suffer, they mistakenly look to government to solve their problems.”

John Rackliffe writes, “Welfare programs, Social Security and other government entitlements have increased the need for the collection of more taxes, putting pressure on the middle class to pay for the programs for the poor. What God and the founders did to bring people together, the Progressive movement and a growing government has undone, driving people apart across an economic divide that grows wider with each passing year.”

When we look to God for help, then we must by definition regulate our own actions. We become a self-disciplined people. But when we depend on the government to regulate us, we surrender the ability to regulate ourselves.

As long as we permit government to replace God, we will never ever regain the former stature of our nation. We will become, to paraphrase Peale, sheep bleating for security rather than lions roaring for liberty. We will continue our descent from proud Americans to whiny brats demanding endless entitlements.

If we pray to God for strength in these troubling times, He will give it. Praying to the government is worse than useless; it’s perilous.

I walked down the street in Barcelona , and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz … We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world. 

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned. 
 
And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride. 
 
They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.
 
Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.
 
And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.
 
What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe .

These New Age global warming liars are fornicators. They fornicate by putting the very thing they worship; the earth — above God the Creator. They are unclean, they covet by demanding we all become like them as they steal our wealth in the name of caring for the earth. They most certainly are idolaters by worshipping the creation over the Creator.

These people are dark. They are evil, wicked people. Just how long do you think a conservative or Christian would be allowed to sing such a song in defence of their beliefs?!

This is the kind of people Satan will have in his government. Do not be deceived into believing they are your sister and brother. They are not. They are spawns of their father, the devil.

Paint it Black

Short little video showing us how unemployment has gone up just within two years. Want to know what is scarey about this? Sooner or later, those areas in black, will end up doing whatever they need to do in order to keep getting their welfare, etc. My suggestion? Start buying groceries and stocking up and do NOT use a check. And those little cards some stores give that you scan that give you the discounts? May want to think about not even using them, because at some point they will use that info to see what all you have bought and when government finally takes over food supply (whenever that will be) all they have to do is see who bought what and…. use your imagination.

Think it can’t happen in America? Wrong.

JIM JONES: CHRISTIAN OR COMMUNIST?

A lot of people want to believe that Obama is a Christian. Below is just an example of the christianity he and socialists liberals believe in. It is one of big government, power and complete control over it’s followers.

People all over the world are horrified and puzzled by the Jonestown, Guyana atrocity. Questions are being asked: Who was the Rev. Jim Jones? What kind of religion did he teach? Why did he order the murder and suicide of over 900 of his followers? The answers provided by most of our media during the week following the news of the murder of Congressman Leo Ryan and four others in his group at the Kaituma airstrip have been confused, inaccurate and misleading. Our media have concealed, misrepresented, or downplayed the key element in the philosophy of Jim Jones. He was a long-time dedicated Marxist communist who admired totalitarian communist dictatorships such as the Soviet Union and Cuba so much that he built one of his own in Guyana. It was tiny, with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants, but it had many striking resemblances to the dictatorships it was modeled after. The inhabitants were not free to leave Jonestown. Those who tried to escape were severely punished. Family members were kept in Jonestown as hostages to enable the dictator to exert control over those who were on the outside. The inhabitants were cut off from free communication with the outside world. The news they got was filtered through the dictator. They were subjected to the constant blare of exhortations and instructions by loudspeaker, one of the techniques of the Chinese communists. They were forced to attend lengthy meetings, listening to the political harrangues of Jones, after having worked ten to twelve hours in the fields. This is another technique of the Chinese communists. They were trained in what to say to visitors and were as adept as the Chinese, and Soviets in pulling on a good show and concealing the harsh reality. They were not permitted to own any substantial personal property, making them totally dependent on the dictator for their subsistence and survival. They were in mortal fear of the dictator’s armed guards and “hit squads,” which they believed would track them down and murder them if they should leave. They were punished if they complained about food or living conditions, and they were afraid to express dissatisfaction even privately. There was no religious observance in the community, apart from the obeisance to the all-powerful dictator, Jones. The workers were poorly fed, poorly housed and overworked, while the dictator lived in luxury. The settlement could not deliver the standard of living promised to the inhabitants, and it relied heavily on external contributions.

Lenin Reincarnated

The evidence that Jim Jones was a Marxist communist does not derive solely from the fact that he established a communist settlement in the Marxist state of Guyana. Jones made no bones about the fact that he was a Marxist. His wife, Marceline, in an interview given to the New York Times in 1977, said that when Jones was 18 years old, his idol was Mao Tse-tung. She said his goal was social change through Marxism. The Chicago Tribune on November 22, quoted a former follower of Jones, Mrs. Wanda Johnson, as saying: “He told us on many occasions he was the reincarnation of Lenin. He told us this time he would be successful in installing a socialist state in America.” She also said that on several occasions Jones spoke of killing then President Nixon or kidnapping the children of any public figure if he felt it would bring about a socialist form of government in the United States.

The Tribune was the only paper of several that we examined that made any mention of this important revelation by Mrs. Johnson. The Washington Post and The New York Times on the previous day did mention the reincarnation-of-Lenin claim, using a soft version, and giving it no prominence. Both of these papers ignored the charge that Jones was willing to kill the president and kidnap children of public figures to bring about socialism. However, The Times did say on November 21 that Mrs. Johnson had revealed that Jones’ inner circle had signed statements saying that they were willing to kill their enemies, including government officials and all former members.

Both of these papers described the suicide drills that Jones put his followers through. The Post’s account included this paragraph: “According to former cult member Tim Stoen, Jones frequently put his congregation through tests. ‘He would pass around a brown liquid,’ Stoen said in a West Coast television interview telecast yesterday (November 20) and tell everyone to drink it. After they drank it, he would tell them they would die in about an hour. Meanwhile, he would ask them to stand up one by one and tell the group why they were proud and honored to die for socialism’.” (Washington Post, 11/21/78, p. A 15) The Times gave a different version of Stoen’s statement, which was not as strong, but it was in the lead paragraph of a page-one story. It said: “He has mass suicide drills, where he tells all the people, hundreds of people, to drink a certain drink, and he says, ‘That’s fatal. You’re all going to die in 45 minutes. I want to see how you feel about dying for socialism’.” Jonestown was described as “an experiment in socialism where money, power, and elitism had been eliminated.” In her 1977 interview with The New York Times, Mrs. Marceline Jones described her husband’s aim as “a Marxist social group,” and she said that was what he was building in Guyana. Despite all the evidence that Jones was a Marxist and admirer of the Soviet Union and Castro’s Cuba, reporters not only avoided calling him a communist, but also went out of their way to qualify his socialism with adjectives such as “utopian,” “quasi-religious,” and “agrarian.” We could find not a single article in the mass media that probed into Jones’ Marxist beliefs and connections. All the remarks we have cited above were only passing references in articles devoted to other subjects. Articles were written about his religious background and activities, which, as we shall see, were phoney and were simply a means to his political ends. The tragedy spawned articles on unrelated cults, on the psychology of mass suicide, on Jones’ sex life, on political figures who were connected with Jones or had written letters commending him. But there were no articles on the ideology which was his main inspiration, communism.

The Unmentionables

It is not clear why editors should conceal the fact that Jones’ newspaper, The People’s Forum, was full of praise for communist regimes. Why should it have been a “no-no” to mention that in 1977, the Rev. Jones went to Cuba specifically to meet with Huey Newton, the leader of the far left Black Panthers? The People’s Forum of March 1977, reported that Jones was ecstatic about conditions in Cuba. He reported that the standard of living was “fantastic.” Jones told his followers that the Cuban people were enthusiastic about the way Castro was running things. The people had total freedom, he said. The Washington Post had these quotes. It never reported them. The media quoted Jones’ personal physician and strong supporter, Dr. Carlton Goodlett, without mentioning his long record of involvement in communist causes, including membership on the presidium of the World Peace Council, a Kremlin front. Some, but by no means all, papers did identify Jones’ two lawyers, Charles Garry and Mark Lane as left-wing radicals. The New York Times reported on November 21 that Garry once took the Fifth Amendment and refused to say if he was ever a member of the Communist Party. It said that Garry had described himself as a radical and that he had had among his clients the leaders of the Black Panthers. The Times noted that Lane was also a radical and that he is a leading proponent of the theory that there was a right-wing conspiracy behind President Kennedy’s assassination. Having been told nothing about Jones’ fondness for the Soviet Union and Cuba, many people were probably puzzled by a UPI dispatch that was published in some papers on November 25. It told of a discussion that preceded the suicides at Jonestown. According to one of the survivors, one woman spoke up saying that suicide was not the only option, that they could go to the Soviet Union or Cuba. She was shouted down. This was followed by an even greater surprise the following day. Three survivors said that Jones’ mistress had ordered them to deliver a suitcase containing $500,000 and a letter to the Soviet embassy in Georgetown, Guyana, after the suicides. They said they turned it over to Guyarian authorities. It was also revealed that Jones himself had talked of emigrating to the Soviet Union, telling his followers that it was the promised land. He had discussed with a Soviet diplomat the possibility of moving his followers en masse to the U.S.S.R.

Jones is Jettisoned

Before he was exposed before all the world as a thief, sadist, satyr, dictator and mass murderer, Jim Jones was one of the darlings of the left. Guyana released a list of 38 prominent Americans who had allegedly written endorsements for Jim Jones. This list included first lady Rosalynn Carter, Vice President Mondale, HEW Secretary Joseph Califano, Mervyn Dymally, lieutenant governor of California, five members of the U.S. Senate, eleven members of the House of Representatives, the mayor of San Francisco and one former mayor of that city, and the mayor of Gary, Indiana. Some on the list say they can’t remember writing the endorsements, and the letters have not been produced except for a handwritten “Dear Jim” note to Jones from Mrs. Carter. It is possible that some of the endorsements were forged by Jones himself. But there can be no denying that Jones vas very well connected politically, with his friends ranging from Communist Party leader Angela Davis to Rosalynn Carter, who met Jones during the 1976 presidential campaign. A benefit for Jonestown featuring black comedian Dick Gregory, California state assemblyman Willie Brown, Mark Lane and Charles Garry was to have been held in San Francisco on December 2. The theme was “A Struggle Against Oppression.” Needless to say, the dinner was cancelled. The politicians and the ideologues of the left quickly went to work to disassociate themselves from Jones. In the case of Stalin, there is no way to obscure the fact that the mass murderer was a communist. But most people bad never heard of Rev. Jim Jones, and, with the cooperation of the media, it was possible for attention to be diverted away from his dedication to communism.

The Phoney Preacher

This was made easier by the fact that Jones himself had for years been masquerading as a Christian and a man of God. He was an ordained minister of the Disciples of Christ denomination, which has around 1.3 million members. But he had been exposed as a religious faker by Rev. Lester Kinsolving in eight articles written for the San Francisco Examiner in 1972. (The Examiner ran only four of them, capitulating to pressure from Jones and his followers.) Kinsolving exposed the fact that Jones claimed to have literally resurrected more than 40 people, that his service featured the beating of children and forced public confessions of non-existent sins, fake faith healings, and the regular use of a Marxist song book. Mrs. Jim Jones told The New York Times in 1977 that her husband had decided when he was 21 years old that the way to achieve his Marxist goals was to mobilize people through religion. “Jim used religion to try to get some people out of the opiate of religion,” she said, adding that he had once slammed a Bible on the table and said, “I’ve got to destroy this paper idol!” (New York Times, 11/26/78, p. 20.) The Times informs us that Jones “was openly contemptuous of religion among his associates.” (New York Times, 11/21/78, p. A 16). But he used religion to entice new recruits and to deceive naive outsiders. After the victims were hooked, he used sex, blackmail, intimidation and psychological dependence to manipulate them. At Jonestown, where there were no outsiders to be deceived, there were no religious services or discussions of religion. (Washington Post, 11/25/78, p. A 3.) Jones had so corrupted people who were once good Christians that they would commit adulterous or homosexual acts with him or others on his command. They would even commit murder at his command, even the murder of their own children, as we now know. Religion was nothing but a cover for Jones’ communist ideology, but most reporters, like a pack of greyhounds, went chasing after the fake rabbit. CBS News takes the prize for this most asinine performance on November 22:

Walter Cronkite: At the end, cult leader Jim Jones was described as a drug-crazed, paranoid, power-hungry fascist, but what of this man whose ultimate command led his flock to mass suicide. Betsy Aaron reports. Betsy Aaron: It was called the People’s Temple, but it was really Rev. Jim Jones’ temple. Jim Jones was the reason people came, looking for love and for God. Jim Jones: Now as we reedirate. God is love. Love is a healing remedy. Let us believe, let us believe. Aaron: A kind of intense warmth emanated from this man. His message was traditional and positive. It was the gospel of Jesus. Jones: I love you. The people love you, and most importantly, Christ loves you. Aaron: He gave hope to the poor. He gave help to the infirm. There were doubters who questioned his cures, but to his congregation the power of God was present in Jim Jones.

The program went on to show one of Jones’ fake faith healings, the curing of a supposedly lame woman. No question was raised about the authenticity of the cure, although it is known that these cures were staged by Jones and his cohorts. This irresponsible reporting gave rise to reactions such as the one expressed in a letter in The Washington Post on November 26, which said: “In Guyana, organized religion once again has dropped its mask of benignity and revealed its ugliness.” It also led columnist Max Lerner to write in The New York Post of November 26: “But Jones’ followers were simple people, eager for a belief that would link them to a purer, more primitive Christian faith… They were a community of the faithful, a republic of the innocent.” A note from one of these “innocents” found on Jones’ body said: “I fear that without you the world may not make it to communism.” The ideology of Jonestown was communism, not Christianity, but the media have obscured rather than explained that fact.

Jones as a Fascist

While the media scrupulously avoided calling Jones a communist, which he was, there was a rush to label him a fascist, which he was not. Walter Cronkite mentioned that he had been described as “a power-hungry fascist.” Mort Sahl, an erstwhile nightclub comedian who presides over a radio talk show in Washington, D.C., came out with this beauty on November 24: “The exercise in Guyana was a fascist exercise, no matter what the label on the can. Socialists don’t do that.” We have not as yet been able to ascertain whether Mr. Sahl applies the fascist label to such states as the Soviet Union, Cuba, Red China, Vietnam and Cambodia, or whether he is simply unaware of the close resemblance of Jonestown to those societies. Charles Krause, the Washington Post reporter who accompanied the Ryan party to Jonestown, seems to share Sahl’s view that “socialists don’t do that.” In an article published on November 22, he tells of Jones’ son, Steven, being asked (presumably by Krause) “if Jonestown had not been an experiment in fascism–with its armed guard and other means of preventing people from leaving–rather than an experiment in socialism.” Steven Jones reflected the same point of view, replying, “My father was the fascist. Jonestown was and still could be beautiful.” On November 22, NBC News aired a half-hour special television report on Jonestown. It never once mentioned socialism, Marxism or communism, even though the title was, “Jonestown, November 1978: How Could It Happen?” At the very beginning, narrator Edwin Newman said: “James Warren Jones, better known as the Rev. Jim Jones, to some, he was a powerful spiritual leader, a good man. At various times he said he was the reincarnation of Christ and Lenin.” That was as close as NBC got to suggesting that Jones may have been a man of the left. Without identifying Carlton Goodlett as a supporter of many communist causes and a member of the presidium of the Soviet-sponsored World Peace Council, NBC put him on the program to tell of how Jones helped the poor and downtrodden. He said that he told the members of the black religious community that there was a message to be learned “from the type of Christianity this man is speaking.” Having neglected to tell its viewers that Jones’ group was a communist group in action, NBC put on a Dr. Frederick Hacker, who said, “I believe these sects and cults are really mini-fascist organizations in action. They use terroristic means of intimidation in order to force their members to adopt a certain philosophy, a certain way of life, and a certain thinking.” Some writers were a little more subtle in their efforts to work the transfer of the negative association to something other than communism. Max Lerner, in addition to falsely portraying Jones’ followers as simple Christians, evoked the Hitler image: “Jim Jones mastered the art of conditioning his followers to obedience. He did it with a devilish ingenuity, as Hitler did it with millions, as Manson did it with his own little cult.” Robert Geline of the Time-Life News Service, in an article in The Washington Star of November 26, said this: “Paul (a member of the Jonestown commune) remembers that Jones used to preach on the evils of Nazi Germany and show films of the concentration camps on the settlement’s sophisticated closed-circuit TV system. Incredibly, while this ‘teaching was going on, the communers would salute Jones at the beginning of each mass meeting with an upraised right arm ex- tended, fist clenched. They did everything but shout, ‘Sieg Heil’.” Mr. Geline surely knows that the upraised clenched fist is the communist salute, not the Nazi. This clumsy effort at transfer fails, at least with those readers who know what the clenched fist salute signifies. But as with the transfer of the negative reaction to religion or other religious groups, the transfer from communism to fascism met with some success. The Washington Post on November 26 ran two letters to the editor drawing parallels between Jones’ followers and the Nazis. No letters were published which even mentioned that the group was Socialist, Marxist or communist.

Why the Carnage?

On November 24, CBS News aired a half-hour special, “The Horror of Jonestown,” in which the question “why” was repeatedly asked with no satisfactory answer being supplied. It was similar to the NBC production in that it never brought up Jones’ Marxism. Nor did it challenge the sincerity of his religious professions. Like NBC, CBS News looked to psychologists to provide answers, rather than to experts in totalitarian societies. Not having asked the right questions, it is not surprising that the networks and the rest of the media have not come up with any satisfactory answers. An important question that no one has asked is whether or not the Jonestown commune was succeeding. All the propaganda out of Jonestown said that everything was going great, but the evidence of the survivors does not support that. The people worked 10 to 12 hours a day on a meager subsistence diet. Some have said that the dogs ate better than the people. Meat was served only when outside visitors came. Housing was deplorable, with 14 people, including married couples, crowded into a room 12 x 20 feet. They had zero privacy. Jones deliberately tried to destablize families, encouraging husbands and wives to live separately and promoting adulterous relationships. This was no Eden. Without coercion it would crumble. Jonestown was a failure and no one knew it better than Jones. He had too big an ego to accept defeat, and the mass suicide offered a way out. If everyone died, Jonestown would be forever shrouded in mystery, with people asking why it happened and never being quite satisfied with the answer. Its darkest secrets would remain hidden. Why did the followers go along? Some thought as Jones did. Those who differed obviously saw no hope of saving themselves by resisting. With the guards training their guns on them, they were no doubt right.

Homo judge says your child does not need a mother

I knew of a little girl some years back who was adopted by two homo men. They treated her well enough, I suppose. But they got their precious little feelings hurt when she wanted a mother. SHOCK! How dare her to want a mother?! A little girl of eight years old wanted a mother and THEY got their feelings hurt?! 

Really, they did. They whined about it like two little sissies. But we gave her a bike. We bought her new clothes, blah, blah, blah. Well there are some things that money just can not buy!

Guess what? It’s not about YOU and YOUR desires, homos. It is about the child. ALWAYS. 

I think children are perfectly capable of knowing they need a mother and a father — NOT two mommies and NOT two daddies. You would think the vile liberal left would believe as much, wouldn’t you? The way they insist children have rights from comdoms to sex education, and every other FILTH they want the children to attain and believe. 

This judge, this piece of excrement is pushing the New religion. One where everything goes except for the standards of a Holy God. UNLESS he and the other sodomites in this nation REPENT, they will go to hell.

Now I realize there are some who will say they do not believe in God — as if by not believing it will exempt them somehow. WRONG.

Same-Sex Marriage Judge Finds That a Child Has Neither a Need Nor a Right to a Mother

U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who ruled last week that a voter-approved amendment to California’s constitution that limited marriage to the union of one man and one woman violated the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, based that ruling in part on his finding that a child does not need and has no right to a mother.

Nor, he found, does a child have a need or a right to a father.

This man is an abomination to truth!

“Children do not need to be raised by a male parent and a female parent to be well-adjusted, and having both a male and a female parent does not increase the likelihood that a child will be well-adjusted,” the judge wrote in finding of fact No. 71 in his opinion.

“The gender of a child’s parent is not a factor in a child’s adjustment,” the judge stated in finding of fact No. 70. “The sexual orientation of an individual does not determine whether that individual can be a good parent. Children raised by gay or lesbian parents are as likely as children raised by heterosexual parents to be healthy, successful and well-adjusted. The research supporting this conclusion is accepted beyond serious debate in the field of developmental psychology.”

Despite Walker’s claim that this “fact” is “beyond serious debate,” one of the sources he cited for it was a brochure published by the American Psychological Association (APA) that was entered into evidence in the case, which specifically stated twice: “Few studies are available regarding children of gay fathers.” Walker did not quote this part of the brochure in his opinion.

However, Walker did quote this same brochure as saying: “[S]ocial science has shown that the concerns often raised about children of lesbian and gay parents–concerns that are generally grounded in prejudice against and stereotypes about gay people–are unfounded.”

This quote comes from a side-bar box on page five of the six-page APA brochure. The box purports to answer the “most common questions” about homosexual parents, posing four such questions and giving the APA’s answer to them.

The first is: “Do children of lesbian and gay parents have more problems with sexual identity than do children of heterosexual parents?”

The full answer in the brochure is as follows: “For instance, do these children develop problems in gender identity and/or in gender role behavior? The answer from research is clear: sexual and gender identities (including gender identity, gender-role behavior, and sexual orientation) develop in much the same way among children of lesbian mothers as they do among children of heterosexual parents. Few studies are available regarding children of gay fathers.”

The brochure does not explain why the APA concludes that the “answer from research is clear” that children of homosexual parents do not have more problems with sexual identity than children with mothers and fathers when in fact, as the brochure itself states, “[f]ew studies are available regarding children of gay fathers.” Nor does Judge Walker explain how his finding of “fact” that the gender of parents does not matter to children is “beyond serious debate” when in fact his own source stipulates that “[f]ew studies are available regarding children of gay fathers.”

The second question answered in the brochure is: “Do children raised by lesbian or gay parents have problems in personal development in areas other than sexual identity?”

The entirety of the answer provided in the brochure states: “For example, are the children of lesbian or gay parents more vulnerable to mental breakdown, do they have more behavior problems, or are they less psychologically healthy than other children? Again, studies of personality, self-concept, and behavior problems show few differences between children of lesbian mothers and children of heterosexual parents. Few studies are available regarding children of gay fathers.”

Judge Walker does not quote this part of the brochure in his finding that the gender of parents does not matter, nor does he explain how his finding can be “beyond serious debate” when in fact the very evidence he uses to establish this point states that “[f]ew studies are available regarding gay fathers.”

To further his case that the well-being of children is no bar to declaring same-sex marriage a right protected by the Fourteenth Amendment, Judge Walker makes a finding of fact that the state of California already legally recognizes that the gender of parents is irrelevant. As Walker reports it, California laws goes so far as to “encourage” homosexuals to acquire children whether through adoption, foster care, or artificially conceiving a child and, presumably, in the case of a male-male couple, securing a female to gestate the child until the male-male couple can take custody of it.

“California law permits and encourages gays and lesbians to become parents through adoption, foster parenting or assistive reproductive technology,” writes Walker in finding of fact No. 49. “Approximately 18 percent of same-sex couples in California are raising children.”

To support this finding, Walker notes that California’s attorney general, who is Jerry Brown, “admits that the laws of California recognize no relationship between a person’s sexual orientation and his or her ability to raise children.”

“Attorney General admits,” writes Walker, “that California law protects the right of gay men and lesbians in same-sex relationships to be foster parents and to adopt children by forbidding discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.”

Walker’s ruling declaring same-sex marriage protected under the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, if upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, would have ramifications far beyond California, requiring states across the union to recognize same-sex marriages while wiping out any legal protection a child might have from being handed over by state governments to same-sex couples either through adoption or foster parenthood.

The Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment as applied by Walker would require states to grant a marriage license to same-sex couples and would-be parents, while implicitly annihilating the notion that each American child has an equal right to a mother and a father.

A child put out for adoption or foster parenting by the state, or a child conceived through technological means and gestated in a hired womb, would have no right not to be assigned to a homosexual couple who would act as his or her father and father or mother and mother.

My thoughts on wicked men like this: Repent — or go to hell.

When the Watchmen Are Silenced

There is now a war on words in America. The battle to further censor words, transform words, twist words, and silence words is raging. The Left in leadership is determined to rob Americans of one freedom after another but the greatest loss would be our free speech. As stated in the July 26 issue of The American Thinker,

“It’s a frightening thought: Government takeover of the media. But having tightened their grip on health care, financial services, and energy, it’s only logical that the Democrats should turn their attention to the media.

“Discussions underway at the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Communications Commission point toward a dangerous new effort to regulate what Americans read and hear. The takeover under discussion would apply across the board to print media, radio and television, and the Internet. The result of proposed regulations would be nothing less than an end to free speech in America.”

As Jack Kinsella states in his recent commentary, “In April, a three-judge panel in Washington threw out the FCC’s attempt to impose ‘net neutrality’ regulations on the Internet, ruling the FCC does not have the power to do so. The FCC responded in a statement saying the decision did not ‘close the door to other methods for achieving this important end.’”

In other words, the battle has begun and if plan “A” doesn’t work, they will opt for plan “B” or “C” to get America to resemble Venezuela when it comes to freedom of the press, Internet, radio, etc. Kinsella continues,

“America’s mainstream news organizations are already consolidated in the hands of just five mega-corporations. We warned back in 2003 of the dangers associated with putting too much power into the hands of so few.” Kinsella also states that “One of the very first targets of the Obama administration’s ‘fundamental transformation’ was — and still is — what Obama’s FCC calls, “the reinvention of journalism.”

Forces of darkness are wheeling and dealing, planning and scheming, to keep you from knowing the truth. And while some proponents of evil are principalities and powers of the air, many more are politicians dressed in expensive suits and very polished foreign-made shoes that match their gigantic self image as power-brokers. To carry out their schemes, they must silence opponents and truth-tellers. They must shut down all conservative and Christian voices. Make no mistake that they will try, whether it be through the unfair “Fairness Doctrine” or something akin to it but renamed. They may face battles in the courts but nothing will deter the present powers that be from controlling what you and I hear and read.

The Federal Communications Commission and Federal Trade Commission are the major players in this effort.

How would this work? Under the proposed changes, government would have the right to impose taxes on selected media (including Internet service providers and Internet sites) and redistribute funds to traditional liberal news media. Government could impose a fairness doctrine on the internet as well as on radio — thus forcing conservative media to “balance” their programming by including liberal commentary.

The day that happens, I will turn off my radio. They may be able to force their views, but they can not force me to listen to their garbage.

Government would also be granted a wide range of options for subsidizing liberal media, including perpetual grants of taxpayer money to left-leaning publications like The New York Times and to increase funding for “progressive” media such as National Public Radio and The Public Broadcasting System. These are the antics of any totalitarian dictatorship be they in a sophisticated nation or a banana republic. And such rules may be coming to a town near you.

You may not willingly want go back with me to the era of the Third Reich but you must. We have to learn from it. As Irwin Lutzer writes in his new book, When a Nation Forgets God: 7 Lessons We Must Learn from Nazi Germany,

“Hitler believed that spoken words could convert anybody to a radical agenda. But Hitler didn’t have the powers of today’s media. Think of what Hitler could have done if he could have used today’s TV, radio, Internet, etc.”

Those who are concerned about a government takeover of the media need only recall the name of Joseph Goebbels. It was Goebbels manipulation of the media that brought Hitler to power and secured his control over Germany right up to the end of the regime. It was Goebbels who organized the candlelight processions, mass meetings, national radio broadcasts (over the objection of independent station owners,) and the eventual seizure of all print and electronic media.

Isn’t it interesting that according to the Bible, in the last days the antichrist will control everything people see, hear and read? The power of the Satanic trinity will enter into every home. It says in Revelation 13:7 that “Power was given him over all kindred, tongues, and nations.” This future fuehrer will have the task of propagandizing the world through a controlled media. This antichrist will be a passionate leader with an appealing message and the power of oratory that will be out of this world because his power comes from another world. He will be a master of doublespeak. But he must silence his opponents.

Am I saying that Obama and his cohorts will play a role in the the antichrist administration? Perhaps play a role in antichrist’s administration, but Barack Obama is only the forerunner of this evil man. We saw this in the campaign of 2008 as Obama’s world tour provided a foretaste of the reception the antichrist can expect to receive. The antichrist will stand in some capitals, addressing the people of the world and telling them that he is the one they have been waiting for. He will even reveal how he will solve the world’s debt problem. He will be received like a rock star and get the same kind of greeting Obama got in Berlin.

Does obama’s “freedom of worship” open the door to worship him?

It has been clear from the beginning, this man adored the messiah – like worship he has received from the left, not only in this country but among the world. They thought he was going to be a saaaaavior. They thought he was going to be a messiiiiah. Not once, did he open his mouth against such worship. It’s freedom of ‘religion,’ Mr. President
Commander-in-chief’s term ‘gross departure from the intent of 1st Amendment’

It’s just one more “fiber” of the U.S. Constitution, but if enough are torn, the document itself will unravel, according to a Washington-based faith organization that is chiding Barack Obama for repeatedly referring to the “freedom of worship” in the United States, when the Constitution actually calls for “freedom of religion.”

Officials with the Faith and Freedom Institute have dispatched a letter to the president, asking that he correct himself.

“While some may deem the words ‘worship’ and ‘religion’ to be synonymous, and thus interchangeable, they are most definitely not!” said the letter from Faith and Freedom Institute President Gary Dull, Vice President Dave Kistler and historian Don Kistler.

“The First Amendment of the United States Constitution uses the word ‘religion’ and states unequivocally that Congress cannot prohibit the ‘free exercise’ of said ‘religion,’” the letter continues.

“Your use of the word ‘worship’ implies that we have freedom ONLY within the confines of structures set aside for religious expression (i.e. churches, synagogues, etc.). This is not only a gross departure from the original intent of the First Amendment, but is also the first step toward eliminating faith expression in the public marketplace.”

The organization, which says its purpose is to provide educational support for the moral, spiritual, political and biblical foundations of the U.S., argued words have meaning.

“To some, that may not appear to be a great issue, but it steals away the language of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and gives a different meaning to the freedom to practice our religion as we determine,” the organization said.

Dull told WND the change in terminology is significant. “Worship” usually is done behind the walls and closed doors of a building set aside for that purpose. “Religion,” on the other hand, includes the biblically mandated activity of declaring the Gospel to all nations.

Freedom of religion, he said, “actually means that we can practice religion in public space. Freedom of worship is more personal and often behind the doors of a church.”

Dull said the institute staff first noticed the change in terminology at the November 2009 address by Obama in memory of the victims of a radicalized Islamic officer in the U.S. military who shot up a military base.

Since then, it’s been a recurring statement, he said his staff has found. Besides Obama, the Democrat administration’s use of it also has been spotted in Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s addresses.

It implies, Dull said, that Christians or those of other faiths should “keep inside your church buildings.”

The letter asks Obama to “retract all past use of this incorrect and misleading phrase, ‘freedom of worship,’ and cease all future use of the same. We also call on you to acknowledge America’s Christian heritage as is clearly evidenced in our Founding documents and the overwhelming abundance of statements from our Founding Fathers.”

Dull warned what one generation tolerates, the next generation promotes.

The idea that Christianity is perfectly fine behind closed doors of a church building – but not really acceptably any longer in the public square – is a recurring theme in the myriad lawsuits that have sprung up in recent years over statements of faith by public officials, ceremonial prayers in public meetings, Christian student groups at schools and colleges and other places and times when the nation’s Christian heritage traditionally has been recognized.

The issue also has arisen in the arguments over “hate crimes.” Legislation was signed by Obama last year that created penalties for making members of groups – specifically homosexuals – feel bad.

A well-known atheist once told him, Dull reported to WND, that he had no objection to Christians or people of other faiths practicing their religion as long as they remained behind closed doors.
